Your placed on a list and wait until called just to buy something off the shelf such as gun cleaner, a holster or some sights. I just purchased what i needed directly from the manufacture even if it cost me a bit more for the convenance. Sorry Proforce you guys really need to tend to your customers better, those not looking or interested in purchasing a weapon. However it should not take 3 hours to wait to make a purchase and 2 1/2 to pick up your purchase. The owners should develop an appointment system to correct this issue. I showed up to purchase a firearm and discovered it was about a three hour wait due to the high demand of firearms which they failed to tell me over the phone. Ok at this point I went home and decided to come back when I had time to wait around. When I came back, I waited the several hours to purchase the firearm which I expected and planned for. They told me picking up is quick and simple and no wait. Today I called to see if my background check cleared because I was instructed to call ahead of time. They said it was ready for pickup. I drove to Pro Force and they checked me in at the door saying it was a two hour wait. I said I'm only picking up and they said that's the wait for pickup. Well that would have been nice I'd you told me over the phone wouldn't it. Employee, "We are sorry." No you are not sorry, because you don't care buddy. I have bought several firearms from pro force and the customer service has always been top notch. Today was not the case. I didn't get the guys name but he was a a younger white male. I bought a flashlight that I ended up not wanting and wanted to exchange it for another one. Prior to going back I called to verify their exchange policy. I was advised as long as I had the receipt and everything was there it was not a problem. When I arrived, I told him I wanted to exchange the item I bought, and return it for another. He dumped the bag onto the counter and said," you want to return all this?" With a disgusting look on his face. He was trying to put the flashlight back into the box and the other employee told him, "help him 1st, then put it back in the box " He told him, " well he took it out of the box. Today I signed in at 1639 and then was told to sit in my car [corona virus] I get it. I sat in my car until about 1730 So I went back to the front window. Nobody was at the front desk area. So I rang the doorbell. Waited. Waited.. waited.... and reluctantly rang the doorbell again. Someone came to the door. Asked what I needed. I was looking for a specific firearm. ProForce has been my go-to for years. I put in a request to be emailed when my firearm was in stock. After about a week, I got the email. I paid for the gun online & also received the serial number so I could get a Chief's letter. Good to go! Well, I received a call from Tyler in the Brea store. There had been an issue and my firearm had been sold. I explained that I had been having a hard time trying to find what I was looking for. Tyler said he would put me back on the waiting list. Less than an hour later, Tyler was able to locate the firearm, this one had a few bonuses that I hadn't anticipated. This was a good thing and I was back in business! Will not sell to Emergency Department Registered Nurses. Spoke with Tyler and he said, "That is outside of our contract." Then he said an EMT in the emergency department could. Please explain to me how that works. Let me explain to you where the fire department drops their patients off, the EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT. Where do police officers, sheriff deputies, correctional officers, CHP and MET drop off their 5150 and 5585's, the emergency department. I visited Pro Force for the first time during the Corona Virus Pandemic. Lines at every gun store were around the building. Pro Force was no different, however, their system was much better in my opinion. It took me 2 hours to get into the store, but I had no problem with it. During this pandemic, you won't find a short wait anywhere at a gun store. One thing I liked is that I received a phone call when it was my time to enter. This was nice. It allowed me grab a bite to eat and wait in line from the comfort of my vehicle. Once inside of the store I encountered Tyler, my sales associate. He was knowledgeable and explained every gun available to me with my options for each. Never did I feel rushed. After waiting for such a long time, it felt good to know that I was still receiving good service. I'd highly recommend this store, and I'll be back in the future. read more

To my fellow LEOs and/or EMS peers, DO NOT consider shopping here. They have absolutely no idea what they are talking about when it comes to firearm compliance in the state of California. I'm a DOJ instructor and I help run a friend's gun shop (years of experience under my belt) and these guys have absolutely no idea what documents they can use to sell firearms. There are ATF and DOJ requirements for paperwork when it comes to compliance and they do not know what is considered compliant or not. I have spoken to them many times and not only are they very rude, but they do not know what's considered compliant. Please beware. You may have all your correct documents to purchase a firearm yet they will tell you that you do not or vis versa. Some of the employees are SUPER nice but others are just horrible. In the past it used to be an issue but they've upped their staffing and streamlined their process. Let's be honest, you are coming here to buy not to transfer, OC indoor range across the street can fill your PPT needs. Prices. Hands down you cannot beat their Glock prices. Whether it's online or any other brick and mortar/big retailer Proforce's prices are usually lower. Other pistol brands are always competitive and they have the widest selection in the area. Customer service is on point. I never feel rushed and all the guys there know their stuff. To name a few, Jesus, Jim, Gonzo are always helpful and the gm Mikey went above and beyond with a special order. If they don't have something in stock you are able to waitlist the item. They also host vendors from time to time if you are into swag and learning about the latest updates. The wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012 created a fervor amongst law-abiding citizens (LEOs included) to scramble and buy firearms out of fear of a possible pending ban, and changed the gun store scene dramatically. The ProForce store in Brea was not exempt; where it was once a sleepy shop with just a few customers taking their time browsing the selection of firearms, there is now a ticket dispenser to help the crowd of law enforcement and security professionals get orderly, personal service. It isn't unusual nowadays to see between 10-30 customers jam-packed inside the store, patiently (albeit frustratingly) waiting to be attended to. That said, the crew at ProForce (Mark, Austin, Chase, Jake, Sean, and Sam to name a few) do their best to serve their customers in a timely manner and are very professional, courteous, and personable. As far as I'm concerned I will never return. This has been an absolutely ridiculous experience. I called them this morning first thing and was told to come on down will get you in and there was no need for an appointment by whoever answered the phone. I got there by 9 AM and was told I could be seen by 4:00 PM but it should be sooner. I waited around after driving an hour to get there and went back to the shop at 4 PM to be told I would have to wait another 3 to 4 hours. If you can't do a better job of communicating with your customers and giving them correct information then you should not be in the business. A co-worker mentioned ProForce when I said that I was looking to purchase a Glock 19 3rd gen. I priced around, most wanted $499 but ProForce had it for $399. Here's what people don't know. The weapon comes with 3 mags which came with my purchase. Most stores will open the case, take a mag or 2 out and then sell it to you. Know that before going in. Proforce, sets the example of a poorly run company. Their management is lackadaisical, their lobby is a joke, and they could care less about their customers. Upon arrival expect to wait anywhere from 4 to 8 hours, yet they'll tell you the estimated time of service is 30 minutes to an hour and a half. That's if you're lucky. It's more likely that you'll be turned away at the door. In fact my experience was so pathetic that I canceled my gun order, had them refund my money, and canceled all my future appointments. They are that bad. Don't waste your entire day there. They don't deserve your time or business. Spend a little extra money and go to a respectable place like Turner's or somewhere that actually provides good customer service with great products. The staff here are courteous when you get to them. They are quite thorough but the wait can be two hours and it's based on a numbering system so if you have something in mind make sure you arrive when the doors open. If you are picking up then your waiting can take roughly 45 minutes or less. Make sure you have proper ID to get in otherwise don't bother coming here. They need twice as many staffers because unless you have hours to kill depending on the day min two hours wait. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. ProForce knows they are a hot commodity because they are one of two dangerous weapons (AR) FFL holders in CA. Because of this, they know law enforcement personell will travel far and wide to purchase a rifle through them because they have no other choice (unless they want to drive to San Jose to the other FFL holder.) Due to the fact that you need proforce, and not the other way around, their customer service is subpar. I called to obtain info to purchase a rifle for patrol use. I received the stats (serial number and style number) from their employees to fill out my letter for my sheriff to authorize the purchase. I checked with proforce staff a total of three times to confirm the info was correct because I didn't want to drive four hours to be told "xyz is wrong" and have them refuse to sell me the rifle. Although three different employees from proforce told me the info on the letter was correct (yes, I checked three times. I didn't want to waste my time and be turned away) I was turned away because the style number didn't have two letters in it (letters three different proforce employees never told me to include.) The store manager (some brunette who's business card I promptly threw away because I won't be using it) refused to take any sort of responsibility for her employee's actions and said the error was on my end and there was "nothing" she could do about it. After reminding her multiple times that her store has a reputation for errors like this, I was told I could get a letter with correct info and drive (four hours each way) to obtain my rifle on another day. Proforce has a reputation in the LE community of turning away customers for "incorrect" or "incomplete" paperwork, although their employees provided those exact details for the paperwork to the buyer and claim they are correct. I know of two people (other than myself) who have been turned away in the last two weeks for the same circs. Proforce, get your act together. You lost a customer for life and I will gladly drive double the drive time to purchase my rifle if it means never giving you a cent of my business again. read more

A few years back, their wait times were so long that day turned into night by the time you got out of that store. Their customer service was subpar that it made you second guess yourself if you were a second class citizen. But under new management, the customer service has been chick-fil-a excellent. They have placed the ticket dispenser in the front entrance so you don't forget to take a number and the wait time is shorter. Michelle (aka Mikey) first started out at the front desk greeting customers and in just a few years, she became the store manager. Even as the store manager, you would often see Michelle down at the sales floor helping customers fulfill their needs. This shows the level of commitment she has to the store and to her clients. She is nothing short of excellent and I would recommend this store to all of my law enforcement friends.
