Bread for the table
Lexi M.

I've been here a couple times and just love the food and service here. We haven't been here in years since we moved away for 5 years. We used to order a mushroom appetizer that is out of the world, but we saw a mushroom strudel as a appetizer and we had to try it. The flavor was amazing and the crunch of the pastry was perfection. I ordered the steak and lobster and both were cooked perfectly. It was an amazing dinner as always here.

The atmosphere is pretty fancy. The waiter was a joy to have always filling the water and very attentive. Service is one of the best. The wagu steak is tasty but pricey ($83), the sauce that came with it is to die for. The lobster tail is just like any lobster tail. The chicken was a little on the dry side but the skin was crispy and tasty. The Brussels sprouts was cook and seasoned well. Over all not a bad place to go to one in a while and is inside of Greektown casino.

I'm going to be honest, I should've requested a refund. The more I think about it the more I'm annoyed that I tolerated mediocre food my first time around. I wanted to try a new place on our current visit, and that's exactly what we did. The wait for the desert was far too long. We were told there was only a single cook for the entire restaurant, how can you operate like that during mid day and you had quite a few customers. Maybe preface, before anyone orders that all orders will be coming out slowly,

The ambiance is perfect when you walk in. I don't know if it's one of five stars but it is nice. At least. I'm going to do my rating based on my latest experience which unfortunately was not good at all. Can you come here for a group of four or five? You can spend well well over $500 so this place is not necessarily. Food wasn't that great and the waiter was very horrible

There is a faint cigarette smell that a sensitive nose will identify. I asked for 9oz center cut but it was not available so decided on American Wagyu. My friend did the same. Girls had drinks and they were content with their choices. Wedge salad was top notch. Onto a steak. Yes, it was pretty good and filling. Zip sauce was provided. Meat was tender, size was sized right. I did wait for my steak longer than a friend and the waitress offered a soup which I declined. She did bring in the cheesecake. Dessert was ok. Plain cheesecake with what looked like a fruit compote on top. Well presented, for sure. Why three stars? The cigarette smell.

This was my second time at Prism, and both visits were fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the elegant atmosphere made our Easter dinner feel special. The berry fusion cocktail was refreshing, and the arancini with butternut squash sauce was a must try. We loved the warm bread went through two baskets! My lobster pappardelle was rich and flavorful with generous lobster pieces, and the ribeye and New York strip at our table were tender and delicious with incredible zip sauce. Highly recommend for any special occasion!

This place seems like it's upscale but it's in a casino where you can dress any type of way and still dine here. Came here for a anniversary celebration. The staff was very nice and seated us promptly since we had reservations. The manager even checks in with us a couple times. The tables are spread out nicely so it seems roomy. The decor was nice and our server, Lisa was top notch. Now for the food, which I think is overpriced for what it was but I get the up charge of being in a casino. I tried Lamb chops which you only get 3 and they weren't very meaty but flavor was good. It was accompanied by cauliflower augratin which was superb. We also had filet and Loaded baked potato. The Filet was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The potato I thought was overloaded with cheese and the bacon they gave us was rubbery and not tasty. Lastly I found that the complimentary bread was tasty and plentiful but the butter does not enhance the flavor. I don't think I would dine here again unless I had a voice due to the prices but its was worth a visit.

Excellent service, beautiful ambiance, and delicious food. I loved my experience at Prism, a high-end restaurant inside Hollywood Casino at Greektown. First of all, parking downtown is a nightmare, but parking is free on the upper levels of the Greektown Casino Parking Garage. This isn't made clear on the Prism website. I had to call and ask. Make a reservation. I saw people who did not make a reservation needed to be seated at the bar. This is a popular restaurant, and you won't be able to get a table last minute on a Saturday evening. The restrooms are not in the restaurant. You will have to leave the restaurant and use the restrooms in the casino. If I had designed this restaurant, I would have included restrooms inside Prism only for restaurant patrons, but it's a minor complaint and didn't ruin my experience. I recommend ordering steak, which they do very well here. I loved my Ribeye. I prefer the Ribeye more than my friend's Dry-Aged New York Strip, but both were good. The sauce that comes with the steaks is delicious too. For sides, I recommend the Broccolini and Whipped Potatoes. Everything was well-seasoned and high quality. We put the remainder of our meal in take-out boxes to save room for dessert. I recommend the Cheesecake with fruit, cherry, and whipped cream. I'm not a casino person, so I don't find myself at Hollywood Casino often, but I would visit just to eat at Prism for a nice dinner. I highly recommend Prism for fine dining in Greektown.

Lump Crab Cake /Shrimp Cocktail

Tough times in the restaurant industry to be real with you, there just aren't many places that bring everything to the table anymore... when the bill totals 200 bucks there's an expectation that comes with that. That's the story of Prism, top notch prices, but not top notch food, super nice servers, but not quite a "fine dining" experience for fine dining money. Prism bills itself as a steakhouse so I tried the steak while my friend tried the salmon. I also had the crab cake which was maybe 35/65 filler to lump ratio, and more stringy crab than lump. If you're crab cake head you know what I mean. Just wasn't quite there. The shrimp cocktail I had came with a good cocktail sauce. My filet which I ordered medium ranged from medium well to medium rare.... My stomach paid the bill on that one later but that's another story. The salmon that my friend had was salted a little too hard and probably needed to be seared more. Cooking salmon is a method a fine dining spot should have down to a T. The old fashioned I had was normal. Just for shits n giggles I compared the prices here to one of the places that I think is the best in the area and Prism costs more somehow. Bottom line: for your big dog, fine dining, steak money...go to a better spot.

Came for dinner. The food was really good - the bread, the appetizer, the entree, to dessert. The primary issue here is that the servers had too many tables to manage. There were times when our server disappeared for 20+ minutes. We had a conversation with our server the first time it happened, which we felt should have solved the issue, but it didn't. Eventually, the Manager got involved and made things better. Again, the food was fantastic. The rest of it was not.

This was my second time dining at Prism, and both visits were exceptional! Daniela, along with the rest of the friendly staff took great care of us. Paired with the elegant ambience and delicious food, our Easter dinner was a special experience. I ordered the berry fusion cocktail, which was fruity and refreshing! We started with the arancini, which I highly recommend. The sweetness from the butternut squash sauce was a delightful surprise and paired perfectly with sage! Oh, and of course you can't go wrong with their amazing, warm bread to start- we went through 2 baskets, it's that good! I ordered the lobster pappardelle which had a lucious cream sauce that was full of flavor and there were large chunks of fresh lobster. Our table also ordered a ribeye, and New York strip; both were juicy and tender, and the zip sauce that they came with was melt-in-your-mouth... phenomenal. I highly recommend this wonderful spot to celebrate any special occasion!

Amazing dinner at Prism last night! Service was superb! Shout out to our beautiful waitress, Lisa. She was on it! Lisa made sure our drinks from the busy bar were perfect and just overall very attentive. She was great and can't say enough about her skills! The food tho..... AMAZING . Order the lamb chops you will not regret it ! They are some of the best I've ever had! Sides were excellent as well ... mashed potatoes were creamy and buttery. Asparagus was great. We got the steak tips app, it was really good . Hubby and friends got filet mignons... they were excellent . Everyone agreed. Bread was a sourdough with olives in it, interesting but good still. It's my new favorite spot for sure! Desserts were not pictured because they were so good that they were gone before i could snap a pic. Brownie with ice cream to die for and the cheesecake . So good! I'll be back soon !

I truly never knew that there was a steakhouse on the 3rd floor of Greektown Casino, but I'm here to tell you that it might be a hidden gem if you don't frequent casinos and definitely well worth the "effort" it takes to get to the restaurant. You'll have to walk through the casino floor, but once you're inside the steakhouse, you certainly no longer feel like you're dining in the middle of a casino. The ambiance is perfectly steakhouse-esque with the dim lighting, the main thing that sets Prism apart is the sheer size of the restaurant and the high ceilings. If not for the dim lighting, I feel like the layout of the restaurant would feel a bit cafeteria-ish, but while you might notice this in the beginning, you quickly forget about it as soon as the bread arrives at the table! The bread is phenomenal and my friend and I ordered a ton off the menu to try. We split two appetizers - the jumbo shrimp cocktail and the crab cake - both were so delicious and massive portions! We then each got a steak, which was truly some of the best steak I've ever had, and each got a pasta dish of mushroom ravioli as well. The mushroom ravioli was pretty bland and required a lot of additional seasoning on our part, but everything else was truly perfect! If you're looking for a proper steak, look no further than Prism! I'll definitely be back here soon!

If you're going expecting great spaghetti go somewhere else, if it's on your bucket list then go ahead and visit the food wasn't bad at all, just not great. I'm actually happy I went.

Take away my difficulties, that victory over them may bear witness to those I would help of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of Life. May I do Thy will always!" I came in the door, I said it before, I never let the menu magnetize me no more. But it's bitin' me, fightin' me, invitin' me to grind. I can't hold it back, I'm looking for the line... I recently travelled over 2,000 miles from L.A. to eat here this month, on a weekday around 3pm. No huge crowds, thank goodness. None of my other heroes back home in Califas would feed me, so I had to trudge to Eminem's joint to give it a shot. It's interesting to consider that all the talent in California like King Tee, Tha Alcoholiks, Toddy Tee, Ice Tee, Ice Cube, Too Short, DJ Quik, WC(dub-c), Mack 10, Kam, Above the Law, The Game, MC Eiht, Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar, Cypress Hill, or The Pharcyde have yet to open a food establishment of their own. I believe Kid Frost may have had a place at one time, however, it closed down before I could eat there. Eminem is pulling it off in his home town and I believe that is something to celebrate! It is a true miracle for any artist to make a living from what they create. Eminem not only accomplished this as an artist, he also created something from an idea of his, that now employees others from the Detroit area. How freakin incredible is that shit! An artist that is in a position to give something back to his community is a big deal. These are what everyday miracles look like my friends. Art has purpose and meaning for the world to enjoy. Culinary art is just another example. Mom's Spaghetti is really reasonably priced. The only place I've ever been to where the spaghetti is this cheap was in Rome, Italy. I'd much rather come to Detroit again than jump on a 12 hour flight to Italy. To each their own. My wife and I enjoyed the limited menu here. I ate the spaghetti with meatballs, the bolognese sandwich, and the spaghetti with bolognese. It's comfort food with fresh ingredients served hot and quickly. No complaints from me. I knew the food might be on the mild side so I stopped at Kroger or Meijer and picked up some Serrano peppers to liven up my meal. The chilis made it all pop just right. Mom's Spaghetti tastes good and is three or four notches above Olive Garden or Chef Boyardee. Great comfort food, reasonably priced, for people that are hungry and enjoy a good time and a great value! Eminem's food joint is a must. If I lived in Detroit or if there was a Mom's Spaghetti in Los Angeles, I would have no problem eating here at least twice a week. It's affordable and it fills you up. Spice it up anyway you want to. Eat inside or take it home. It's a fun experience! Thank you Christian for the talk, your kindness, and generous portions brother! Great playlist by the way. You know your tunes. Thank you Chris for your professionalism, your help with taking our picture, and for the merchandise. I'm going to give my Mom her mug this Sunday for Mother's Day. Great job to everyone who made this establishment come to be a reality. If you're ever in L.A. and like to paint, don't hesitate to stop by The Graff Lab at 1038 Venice Bl. Los Angeles, CA 90015. It keeps writers out of trouble and allows the newer generation an opportunity to express themselves honestly without felonious drag, drama, or bullshit. Hip Hop started as a peaceful alternative and we should do our part to keep it that way. God Bless You Eminem and may all the departed mothers Rest In Peace as Mom's Spaghetti continues to live on, ad infinitum! 6/4/00

Lauren took great care of us and encouraged us to order whatever we were craving. Dangerous advice, but we happily accepted . Warning - the ratings are real. They're not a mistake. We started with our usual cocktail, the Instant Karma (5/5). It is the perfect balance of citrus and salt with a light cucumber note. Clean, refreshing, and it pairs well with everything. The roasted sweet potato (6/5) is one of the best vegetable dishes in the city. The caramelized exterior gives way to a soft interior, and the crispy quinoa adds a subtle light crunch that plays against the creamy texture. The salsa macha brings a smoky, nutty depth without the heat, and the crema ties it all together. I had to physically stop myself from scraping the plate (actually they had to take it away ). The tagliatelle (5/5) with beef bolognese and parmesan was flawless. The pasta has that ideal handmade chew, and the bolognese is rich without being heavy. The parmesan blends perfectly into the sauce and stands out in every bite. The potato pierogi (10/5) were the star of the night. Soft potato-filled pillows with horseradish crema, apple, and crispy shallot pieces create this perfect sweet, tangy, creamy, and crunchy bite. Each forkful felt intentional and balanced. I felt guilty, because in my head, I didn't want to share with my wife, but I did anyways . The cruelty of having to split an odd number of pierogis...well played...we should have just ordered another one. We also ordered the smoked potatoes and the pan roasted half chicken with sauce au poivre (always 5/5 for both) The smoked potatoes, with raclette, and crème fraîche, are always a must. These winter variation was just as good! The chicken remains one of the most consistently well-executed mains in the city. I have tried recreating it at home with the cold pan method and it never comes close. Every time we dine here, it feels like four or five different dinner experiences in one evening. Selden Standard continues to set the bar for us in Detroit. We love the staff, the food, and the memories tied to this place. Cheers to many more amazing years to come!

My husband surprised me with a birthday dinner here, and I'm glad that we got to experience it. We arrived in advance of our reservation and grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartender brought us a glass of wine while we waited. It took about a half hour, but we were shown to our table for the night and promptly greeted by our server. All of the food looked amazing, both on the menu and with what people were ordering at other tables. We chose a variety of dishes - cauliflower, Brussels sprouts, squid ink orecchiette, octopus, mushrooms, and scallops. I would recommend all of them, but the standouts for me were the Brussels sprouts and the scallops. Flavors were unique and textures were especially on point with those dishes. Service was good, but we both felt like it was slow. There was a slight glitch in the beginning of the night where the host stand didn't mark that we had checked in when we actually had, which probably contributed to the half hour wait at the bar. Aside from those points, it was an impeccable night!
