The start date got pushed back at least 4 months- we lived out of boxes- while waiting for the cabinets to come in during this time there was no communication. We called and emails with little to no response trying to get updates. During the actual installation workers were dropped off and spoke no English and played loud music in the house. Several times we had to call them and have projects taken apart while my son taught them how to install it correctly. As the cabinets were installed it was noted that a cabinet was cracked- they installed it and we were told they ordered a new one- 5 months later and we are still waiting for that cabinet. Once completed it looked like a mess the cabinets were dirty with dust and fingerprints electrical outlets were all different colors and we were responsible for getting the walls painted- again not in the contract. They left black garbage bags on our lawn while the work was being done a few weeks- killing the grass- in the contract they said trash would be removed at completion but in my mind I thought a dumpster would be here like I've seen during neighbors remodels. The company they subcontracted the countertops to were professional and did a beautiful job- they were proud of their work and it showed. In the end I felt like they told us whatever they had to in order to get our business. I will say that they came out after to discuss the issues I had and they seemed to listen so hopefully in the future they don't have the same problems.

After the job was finished, there was no notification that the job was complete. In fact, several materials and tools were left scattered behind. We then discovered numerous issues and excessive damage caused during the process. This included problems with the subfloor, uneven stain coverage where the old stain shows through, gaps and transition issues, mismatched show moulding, and multiple baseboards that were torn off and not reattached correctly. There was also damage to surrounding walls and trim that occurred during the work. A representative from the company finally came out to review these concerns after numerous contact attempts. Upon reviewing the work in person, RVA flooring acknowledged that portions of the work were done incorrectly. We were assured the issues would be corrected and that someone would follow up to schedule the repairs. Unfortunately, that follow-up never happened. For months, we have made repeated attempts to contact the scheduling team to set a date for the agreed-upon fixes, but our outreach has largely gone unanswered. At this point, we are simply trying to have the workmanship issues and damage addressed as promised. We chose Flooring RVA expecting professional service, quality installation, and accountability. We are still hopeful they will stand behind their work and make this right, and we ask that someone from the company contact us to schedule the necessary repairs.

From the beginning, I made it very clear that I wanted 100% communication and no misunderstandings. The salesperson assured me the entire project (windows, gutters, shutters, etc.) would take about 2-3 months. I was aware I was paying above average, but I trusted their reputation. That turned out to be a mistake. The problems started right away. I assumed measurements were taken during the initial visit, but they weren't. I had to take time off work for another appointment, and the person they sent was in and out in about 20 minutes. After that, communication completely broke down. I had to repeatedly call just to get updates. Months went by with no clear timeline for installation. Every time I spoke to someone, I got a different answer. The office staff seemed completely disorganized, and emails were confusing or contradicted each other. Eventually, I spoke with managers, and even they admitted there were mistakes and miscommunication. But nothing was actually resolved. When installation finally happened, it was poorly handled. They sent only one person to install gutters, which was inefficient and unprofessional. To make matters worse, they somehow retained my payment information and charged me without my authorization, which is extremely concerning. At one point, a manager apologized but then started mentioning that if I canceled, I could be legally responsible. That is when I completely lost confidence. It felt more like a threat than an attempt to resolve the situation--especially considering they had not fulfilled their obligations despite receiving a large deposit. They later came out to take pictures and "check" the work, but it felt like they were trying to protect themselves rather than fix the issues. I have lost an unbelievable amount of time dealing with this--taking off work, making calls, and sending emails. To this day, I still have an issue with one of the windows. I reached out again and received a response that made no sense, and I still have no real answer. Also, their "lifetime warranty" is not even through them--it's through a third party, which was never clearly explained upfront. Overall, this has been an exhausting and frustrating experience. I strongly recommend being very cautious before choosing this company and considering other options. Look for the response towards any complaints they're completely generic. They don't even give at least any kind of explanation as to why of things occurred. I would take my business elsewhere. You're gonna get robbed. They're charge you an astronomical price for something that anybody else could've done much cheaper.

My regular technician, Butch, is awesome--reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely great to work with. Over time we've developed a solid personal relationship, which says a lot about the kind of people Douglas Aquatics employs. Today really stood out. I called with a chemical issue, and within 90 minutes, Joy, the new service coordinator, and John, the service manager, personally showed up at my house. That kind of response time is almost unheard of and speaks volumes about their customer-first orientation. Joy has been absolutely wonderful since taking over my account--responsive, thoughtful, and clearly focused on making sure customers are taken care of. John is a true chemical magician. He diagnosed and fixed the issue in about 10 minutes, but what impressed me just as much was how he handled the moment. He took the time to mentor Joy during the visit, walking her through exactly what he was doing and why. At the same time, he did an excellent job explaining the issue and solution to me as the owner in clear, layman's terms, which I genuinely appreciated.
