I'm very pleased so far with JLC. As a single-income homeowner, I was on a very limited budget but really needed to change out my masonite siding (though I was not at the best time of my life to do so and friends and family were reminding me of such). But JLC were competitive--without skimping on product or workmanship quality. Not only were they responsive to all questions & concerns, but they were timely and clean. There is something more I'd like to add (without trying to sound too melodramatic): As a single woman, many companies take advantage and/ or dismiss our worries, but I really could not afford (financially or mentally) ANYTHING to go wrong, so when I responded about a few things that weren't done quite right, they responded immediately to come and correct those things until I was satisfied. That said, I will be contacting Jacob's Ladder again for all future home improvement projects. read more

We needed some siding repair, gutter replacement and a whole house paint refresh. JLC got everything done in a fast, friendly and efficient way. Everyone was very professional and I was impressed by how quickly things got done. If we have future work, I'd definitely use them again. read more

Hired to replace sheathing and siding but subbed the job to an independent contractor who they didn't supervise. He didn't replace all the sheathing and blamed it on lack of supervision at the job site. Hired to paint the front porch but didn't paint the railing. I wouldn't use again. read more

We have had several jobs done by Jacob's Ladder over the past several years. Most involved light carpentry and painting, including a recent repainting of the entire exterior of our house. The workers are polite and efficient and the prices are very reasonable. The estimate on the whole house painting was more than 1500 below the next best estimate and 3000 below the highest estimate (we got three of them). They are good about spotting issues with siding, caulking, etc., but always give you an estimate for any additional work before doing anything. I'm confident that we will use them again. read more

We needed siding replaced, front porch railing rebuilt, and the whole house painted. From the initial evaluation and estimate throughout the project, they were extremely professional, efficient and a pleasure to deal with. Seth came out, assessed our project, and gave me a quote the same day. He was extremely responsive and easy to work with - and very patient with me as I kept moving the project start date due to other moving logistics. His crew led by Reynaldo was on time, worked hard, paid attention to every detail and were very polite. They were also very respectful of my home and kept quiet knowing I had a sleeping baby in the house. I can hardily recommend this company. I called them as they were located close to me. I explained what I wanted done and when I wanted it done by. Regan said he would try to meet my needs and when we were done talking he said he would have a team there the following Tuesday (4 days) to start work. Upon arrival the two workers politely introduced themselves and reviewed the work that would be done. When Regan arrived on site he went over the project plan with the workers and they started. Sadly for me they found issues I had not seen previously, good for me, they were able to add it in to the project's time. They replaced and painted 15 plus boards of composite siding, 2 gable vents, installed a garage entry door and a few other issues and were still 25,000.00 less than siding my house and it looks as good as new. I have their number on speed dial in case anything else needs to be fixed. read more

Overall, very happy with the work done by JL! The scope of our project was massive -- all but 2 rooms in a five bedroom house -- so JL's crews of 2 - 6 people completed in 9 days what would have taken me weeks, if not months, to complete myself. Very pleased that all the crews were kind, professional, hardworking, and non-smokers -- huge in my book! Additionally, not a single one seemed to have come directly from prison! Also huge in my book. What lacked was attention to final details: excess paint left behind on light fixtures, door knobs, wall mirrors; nail pops left behind; larger patch areas left very rough looking. Bottom line: I would definitely hire JL again and highly recommend them for painting, BUT I would be a vocal nuisance to be sure all final details were attended. read more

I am very happy with the work Jacob's Ladder did on the exterior of our home, which included painting, installing new functioning shutters and a new front door. The project took a little longer to complete than expected, but it was worth the wait in the end. The crew that worked on our house was great! We recently had our entire downstairs painted along with three bedrooms. The kitchen and living room both had yellow paint with wood paneling and Jacob's Ladder did an incredible transforming it into a more modern style. The newly painted rooms feel brighter and we were so happy with how it all turned out - including the white washed fireplace which we were so happy we did. Seth, the president of the company, was involved throughout the process inspecting that things were done right and that we were satisfied with the work. The communication we received and the quality of work was great. They even finished 1 day ahead of schedule. I am in total agreement with Stephen L. This contractor is a hit or miss deal. I did two small jobs with them. I considered a window replacement but backed off. The first job was just normal painting and repairs around my house. The second had to do with siding replacement, vent replacement and window work. I started the first job in October 2015. It was not completed to my satisfaction until March of 2016. The only workman that came to my house did an excellent job, however I had to follow-up constantly with the owner to get the job completed. Between the end or the first job, I started a second job with a down payment in December 2015, That job, vent replacement, window work and a small siding job just ended a year later. Again, the work was completed to my satisfaction after may calls to the owner, who never called me concerning the work. At the end of the second, job, I ask if we were clear on payments and was told yes. Now I am being told I still owe money from the first job. If you have a lifetime to give and can afford to constantly follow-up, and sloppy follow-up, you will get a completed good job. I will not use this contractor again. Larry B. read more
