Oh wow, I thought I had posted a review on Primo hoagies from the first time we ate here. My New England husband loves a good grinder, but he really enjoyed Primo hoagies sub. It would be great if they would do a traditional grinder, hint, hint! At this point, we know most of the people by sight who work there and I think they recognize us as well :-) this has become our go to cheat meal. Just yesterday I got a roast beef schwartzi with extra Russian dressing, my brother-in-law got the big T, my hubby got the turkey & provolone. Oh, boy, they were delicious! Now the young man, who was there at the counter, is the same young man who has made our subs before. I told him that he was the 1st one to make my own special creation for me for the 1st time!! He remembered me because when I picked it up, he said he had never seen that done before. I told him he did a fantastic job and that it was delicious! He looked like a young man in college. I'm sorry I didn't catch his name, but he is in one of the pictures of the mini pepper poppers! My brother-in-law said he just had to let us try. They were delicious, but one I ate today had a lot of seeds in it! It was too late my mouth was burning, but boy did they taste delicious. Such a nice thing to be able to post a positive review about not only the food, but the service and the cleanliness of the store! We will probably see you one day this weekend. :-)

Italian and cheesesteak

First thing in the door we were greeted by super friendly staff. The restaurant and its restrooms were spotless. The cheesesteak was meh but the Italian was awesome! Absolutely delish and the provolone is sharp which I love! The employees really make this place!

Roast Beef Diablo with fresh mozzarella subbed in- wonderful!

Next level move for a memorable beach picnic. Get a bunch of subs from Primos and share. Seriously delicious with high quality meats and cheese as well as perfect bread and extras like broccoli rabe or fresh mozzarella. Hoagie in a bowl was perfect gluten free option. Next time we want to try the hot options! Travis was so helpful in recommending options and made the best sandwiches we've had all year. Just. So. Good.

Turkey Sub

Our favorite sub place we have found in Mount P! Nothing beats picking up a good sub and eating it on the beach. If you get a sub, make sure you get the seeded roll.. best part. The lettuce bowl (getting your sub in a tub over lettuce) is AMAZING and they give you the same amount of meat as a sub (sometimes more I feel like haha). It is so filling and delicious! Sign up for their rewards/texts and the owner is always sending out $2 off coupons which makes it worth it.

I have to be honest, I was starting to get addicted to their Italian hoagies. Delicious! Love the bread, everything tastes fresh. Today I also tried a chicken cutlet. Equally delicious. It's always pretty busy when I go and I know sometimes they're short staffed but everyone is so friendly and helpful.

I was told about Primo Hoagies and made it out to give them a try. The hoagie was full with meat and cheese, the bread was soft and firm. the flavors were spot on, it was not dry and bland on a soggy roll, like some places. The staff was friendly and helped me out with my, first time, experience. I will come back again and again. Michelle, thank you for the onion advice.

Good way to save some dough!

Primo Hoagies is a great addition to the sandwich scene in Mt. Pleasant. My husband and I recently tried Primo Hoagies for a weekday lunch, and a few weeks later, I ordered to-go when I was in Mt. Pleasant running errands. The best way to find Primo Hoagies to enter from the northbound lane of Hwy 17, turn in at Jack's Cosmic Dogs or Advanced Auto Parts, then you'll see an entrance into the back parking lot. The shop has plenty of parking and feels secluded from the hustle and bustle. At first, the large menu seemed overwhelming, but the staff members who helped us, including the owners, were super patient and answered all of our questions. I love that broccoli rabe and roasted red peppers are offered as toppings. So far, I've had the Nonna's Veggie and the Italian Tuna. If you want leftovers (and the seeded bread), I recommend the Primo/medium size, but the small works if you're not super hungry or want chips and dessert. Speaking of dessert, order the dirt pudding! The shop has free wi-fi, which kept me occupied while I waited on my order, which was packaged very well and survived a trip back to West Ashley. The hoagies were clearly marked, our orders were correct, and napkins condiments were included. In short, I loved both my meals at Primo Hoagies- I hope they'll eventually expand to West Ashley so I can get hoagies without driving so far.

May 5, 2021 Decided to order online with delivery. I chose their Philly Cheese Steak and a roast beef sandwich. Delivery was spot on. My Philly was just perfect! My wife loved her Roast Beef sandwich. Can't get much better. It was a great lunch!!!!

Our table also got the meat board, pimento with bacon jam, and the crab and artichoke dip. I loved the mac & cheese and I'm convinced that if you put that sauce on anything it would be 10 out of 10. I also loved the crab and artichoke dip which is served with warm pita, however, there were mixed reviews at our table. The dip was very crab forward, and the artichoke was barely perceptible. The only criticism of the charcuterie was that there was small portions. The pimento and bacon jam is served with Ritz crackers and one's pleasant, but I felt a little underwhelmed. However, for one of the people at our table, it was the favorite. We sat outside in the covered patio area, and I was surprised by how loud the outdoor seating was. If you're sensitive to overstimulation, sitting inside in the air conditioning would be a much more quiet experience. The service was a little slow, but overall the experience was wonderful and the restaurant is located right next to the water. We were there on a weekend and it was busy even though it was in between lunch and dinner. Parking was hard to come by, but that's to be expected for this location.

Greeted by one of the owners with true southern hospitality, we were made to feel immediately welcome. The wait staff were also very friendly and helpful when it came to recommendations and sharing favorites. We moved on to the shrimp and grits which was a great follow to the soup. Super tasty. We also shared a Caesar salad to break up the richness. However, we then moved on to dessert which made the feeble attempt to have anything remotely healthy seem somewhat pathetic. We shared a half order of the French toast which was scrumptious but the grand finale and true star of the show was the bread pudding. I was speechless. Easily the best I ever had. They put dried cherries in it which really makes the dish. It somehow managed to be heavy and light at the same time. Definition of indulgent. I washed it all down with a complimentary glass of birthday champagne and a great Bloody Mary that included a small skewer of shrimp, okra and a thick piece of bacon that could have been a meal in itself. I highly recommend this place for a special occasion.

You could tell they ran a tight ship there but everyone was very friendly. We were greeted by several wonderful people, managers, waiters and assistants. We started with the foie gras with Royal Takaji which is a classic pairing and equally delicious. That was the most unique way I've ever had foie. So many flavors and textures along with the crispy toast. We had the paper thin Wagyu beef crispy rice which was also tasty although I wish there was just a small dollop of sauce to accompany it, but of course the star is the Wagyu. Thankfully my friend was open to share with me so she got a ribeye and I got the pork chop which was highly recommended by our server. We all shared a bunch of sides and I loaded up my plate for sure. That pork chop is out of this world. The corn relish that was on it sealed the deal for me. The burger with truffle fries was outstanding... I literally ate every last fry. The bolognese was rich, decadent, and spectacular. Honestly, just order every appetizer and side on the menu -- you won't regret it. And the beef Wellington? Hard to find on menus these days, and this one topped the best I've ever tasted. The steak was perfectly cooked, and my tile fish could not have been flakier or tastier. The sides were spectacular. The crab cake had coleslaw as a topping. I had never seen that combination before. It sounds strange, but it really worked! The oysters, just try them, and you will have them again. Great food without great service leaves an experience unfulfilled. The service at Oak was exceptional! It was my wife's birthday, and I noted that on the online reservation. She was greeted at check-in with a happy birthday wish, the menu had "happy birthday" printed on it, and the dessert she ordered was brought to our table, as shown in the photo. Our server was absolutely exceptional. Just a great experience that will be repeated.
