I've always loved coming here to grab lunch with my dad. Their buffalo chicken sandwich is my go to with a side of their seasoned fries. It's been six months or longer since I've been and their sauces have definitely changed. Their blue cheese used to be thicker and have a better flavor and when I went yesterday - well it tasted nothing like Blu cheese and was thin. The fries are especially salty now which I wasn't a fan of. My dad ordered a smash burger and said it was still great (it looked great too). Overall the prices are reasonable and the staff is incredible pleasant. Found this little gem while in town for business and I can honestly say, I am glad we gave it a try. I do not know where the name came from but it did have a boxcar feel inside, it was quaint and very well decorated. They were busy, but nothing was missed. They made sure to say hello, a thank you, direct us to where everything was, and help with the menu. The restaurant indoors is casual. It has large electronic menus up that are easy to read. There is a small counter where you place your order. There is seating in and outdoors. There are wooden tables spread throughout inside. The space is not huge but fits a decent amount of people. Outside you will find a few small metal tables under an awning. The food was awesome! We got the create your own combo. I highly recommend. It is a great deal. You get a sandwich that you choose your protein, sauce, and toppings(there is a limit). And small fries with a drink. We went to Boxcar Betty's because they had made the Yelp's Top 100 restaurants in the US. We placed a to-go order and only had to wait about 10 minutes for our food. The not-so-waffle was absolutely amazing! The bacon jam, pimento cheese, combo was excellent. The young lady who worked the counter was very friendly and informative. She warned me that the maple syrup might be too sweet, but I thought it was excellent. When we come back, I might order a cheeseburger just to be able to try other items on the menu. This place may quite possibly be one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had! We had thankfully turned to yelp to help us find somewhere to eat after getting to town, and one of the posts online says it's a better chicken sandwich than Chick-fil-A so obviously we had to try. The place is small and you order and pay at the counter and then sit and wait. The chicken it was super moist and had one of the best crunches after biting in. It was accompanied by a delicious bacon jam. My friend got the burger, and it was also well cooked. The staff here as super friendly and funny and makes you feel like home. I couldn't really taste the peach in the slaw and it was kinda dry, so it was more like cabbage than slaw. But I still devoured it. It had a nice crunch to it and the fries were good too. Their parking lot is small but it wasn't an issue for us. We got there shortly after they opened and there were a few others cars in the lot.
