When leaving West Ashley and heading home, this Lowes Foods is my last chance grocery store before heading down 61 to the house. I usually stop here on Wednesday's since I spend my mornings in WA. I'm usually here for lettuce, the tomato bar, the salad bar, and lottery tickets. Since Lowes Foods opened off of D Road a few years back I discovered that I loved this store for specialty items, but not for every day groceries. I still use the Publix and their BOGOs for that. But I do love the fact that they have a salad bar here. I make a salad for lunch almost daily. The salad bar gives me the opportunity to switch up my veggies each week, at a very reasonable price. And the tomato bar is one of my favorite inventions! I love their orange, yellow, and red/green tomatoes. Not just a boring cherry tomato! I like that I see the same ladies working each time. I like Paninis. They have a different consistency than regular sandwiches. In the deli department a sign indicates that paninis are for sale, but that really isn't true. There is no panini press. The staff simply heats the sandwich. It's a heated sandwich, not a panini. I think the store should get one. I agree with other reviewers that the women at the self checkout should be nicer. They look like they hate their jobs. There is a young woman who works the self check out in Walmart who has a much more up-beat attitude. read more

Surprised of the 3 star rating. First time coming to the store the other day and overall it's very clean snd looks pretty new. We mainly purchased items from the deli/prepared foods section. Got the chicken pot pie, also some packaged cheese tortillini. The chicken pot pie was so yummy! Probably one of the best I've ever eaten. The cheese tortillini was also very good. We also got the mac n cheese which was almost too cheesy...if thats a thing. I think they put like a block of cheese in it lol... Will for sure go back to try more deli items. As far as regular groceries ...it was pricey. 7$ for a bag of cheese doodles...but then again inflation is bad everywhere. I also think it's fun that you can get a beer while you shop. Welcome to West Ashley, Lowes Foods! This store reopened a few years ago as Lowes Foods, and last year, it got a makeover with the bells and whistles. It was previously a Bi-Lo, so it's smaller than other Lowes Foods locations. The deli and bakery selection is good, and there's an extensive beer and wine selection, including lots of craft beers from NC and SC. You can buy single beers or build your own 6-pack, which I love. The beer/wine counter (Community Table) hosts happy hours with drink specials, and you can even have a beer or glass of wine while you shop. If you need a beer while grocery shopping, I won't judge- the last few years have been rough on all of us. The prices for everyday essentials are a little expensive, but specialty purchases are great. Join the rewards program to save as well. read more

I splurged and ordered delivery of groceries, I was able to filter to the store brand and love the products and saved enough money to pay for the delivery fee. As a busy woman, this is a huge benefit to me. The quality is wonderful and Katlyn personal shopper is so pleasant to text with. read more

So disappointing. I was pumped to shop at my first Lowes in the Charleston area and it was a total letdown. For reference I typically shop at Publix. I found Lowes Foods to be expensive, disorganized and overall kind of dingy. Management needs to do an overhaul cleaning and restocking of the store. I'm so glad West Ashley got a Lowe's! I used to frequent the Summerville location when I lived on that side of town. This store is huge. It is organized, bright, and clean. There's a giant calendar by the entrance with that month's upcoming events. Many events are held at the Community Table near the back of the store. During my first visit, they were celebrating the bakery's anniversary with complimentary slices of cake. The Beer Den is a cool spot to grab a drink and hang out. There's a large selection of wine. The produce department is large. I like how you can 'pick your own herbs' from the little garden box. The meat selection is unmatched. Prices are on the higher end but you're paying for quality goods. They do offer a rewards program but you're still going to pay more compared to stores, like Walmart and Food Lion. read more

Ample parking space I like the prepared chicken and food a lot I think it would be a great spot for lunch, they have like an entree two sides deal going. I used the coupon they sent via the mail for $10 in my grocery. Horrible service from literally every employee. I saw they were selling 1 beet for 3.99 they chopped off the leaves of the beets that's price gouging for me. The one time I decided I wasn't going to pay an arm and leg for groceries while bagging my own groceries and even checking myself out the cashier acting like it was a big deal for her to bag not even 10 items. Go to Harris teeter they have better service and food selections. read more

I live only a mile from this Lowes foods location and I am very happy about that. Every time I step in there is always a friendly smile greeting you. I was just there getting the last minute needs for the hurricane and they were definitely prepared for the rush. They were restocking anything that was low on the shelf immediately. I was looking for some broccoli and the produce employee saw I looking and went and got some from the back for me right away. Everyone was so pleasant and not to mention the store clenliness. I find it telling that when they first opened, they wanted to hear from customers on the toll free line.... Now they have a dedicated email to take all the complains, and every response is just an automated pointer to this email address. Given no changes in the store, I would not be surprised that this email address is not monitored. No matter, businesses come and go in that strip mall. Just left there 30 minutes ago. Looked for flowers-terrible "floral" shop. Most flowers on the dead or dieing side. Worst part is the best-looking flowers that were potted were missing price. Produce pathetic selection. No Kale. I bought some cooked chicken fingers...the oil they fried in must have been rancid as the chicken has a weird "sour" taste to it. I really like the different sections that they have and can find exactly what I am looking for very easily. This location seems to get better each time I come here. So the new Bi-Lo is here! Biggest change I've noticed is how bright it is in the store now. I can't wait until they do the renovations because I think it's going to be a super upgrade. At this time, many items are still out of stock (not sure why) but I am hoping that will be remedied in due time. A significant improvement has been their store hours. Opening so early is really a plus for me! Overall, I look forward to seeing what they can do! read more

This is a beautiful store! We like to shop and love to stop by the Community Table events. The problem is the older person working the beer/wine events. She is unfriendly, very slow, uninterested and disengaged. It makes an uncomfortable experience when it should be fun. read more

When this store opened up last year it was incredible! We were so thankful to have such a wonderful store in our neighborhood. Fast-forward to today and it has been run into the ground. Meat Manager and Assistant walked out. Coffee and Beer Den guys quit. Most days are a skeleton crew of cashiers and deli workers trying to stock shelves. Went to Harris Teeter (because Lowes had no butcher) and their store was fully staffed and fully stocked with product. Such a shame to see what was such a beautiful store fail. I just spent the last 30mins or so buying a steak... coming home.. finding out it was rotten, going back to lowes.. they didn't have anything comparable, I got a different brand of pre packaged steak (probably for the better). And they charged me the $2-$3 difference... their packaging says "200% guarantee". No idea what that means... but I won't be going back to this polished turd of a Bi-lo ever again. read more

I always use Publix but decided to give Lowes in West Ashley a try for grocery delivery. they took my money, shopped, and then NEVER DELIVERED- nor did they call to tell me they were coming! Just want to start off by saying I love this store mainly for the customer service, beer/coffee bar, deli and meat selection. Only downside to this store is the prefixed bbq plates. Everything taste great but please put a piece of wax paper underneath the roll.. Every time I get a plate the roll is soggy from sitting in the juices for hours possibly. A piece of wax paper would work nicely. Thank you! read more

Yeah, stick to teeter or Publix. We spent $120 there and our stuff was thrown in a bag haphazardly. They couldn't help us resolve this. So many better store crews in the WA area. read more

This is close to my neighborhood. While it does not have everything bigger stores have, it is a lovely store with great customer service. I often find people at their coffee bar for meetings. Their employees go out of their way to help you find what you need. The one time I had an issue, the manager made it right. I have asked them to stock a few things I miss from their larger stores, and they magically appear. ;-) Their produce is nice, and on the outside chance it isn't, they have been more than happy to rectify it. read more

The managers are extremely rude and disrespectful. The store is never stocked well. Produce is not fresh and poorly stocked. The entire store is dirty and is no where near the caliber of the summerville Lowe's. Not to mention the number of times the freezers stop and leak. I love what they have done when taking over for BiLo, however I bought prepared baked potato salad and the potatoes had not even been cooked. I also go a wrap that had some much cimmamon in it to make it "spicy" . Honestly I would like to talk to the prepares of both these items and understand their mind set. Maybe it was a premature opening, and tbh I don't get to West Ashley very often, so this is the first and probably last time I'll be here. Comparing this to the Lowe's in Summerville though, this is bad. I know stores will often utilize pre-existing buildings that were used for a similar business model, but damn. Have some standards before opening! I don't know when this store opened, but I've seen this happen before where store A goes out of business and store B buys the building. Usually though, store B wants to have their business presentable enough, or at least in line with their companies vision. I literally felt like I was in a Woolworth's in 1989. The shelves were dingy and old. The tile looked like it had been there longer than I've been alive. The things that set Lowe's apart in Summerville are missing. No coffee, a scant selection of their great breads, no fresh homemade sausage, just frozen, no beer... This store is a poor representation of what Lowe's foods is, though I've only ever been to 2 of their stores which are both newer. At the same time, at least have some standards before just whipping up the now open sign! The image of this location is more representative of a save-a-lot than a Lowe's. read more
