I don't do a lot of cooking, but TJs offers so many frozen, delicious cold and hot meals that require only a sauce pan.

It's a very large shopping center and they have quite a lot of landscaping throughout, but walkways and cart corrals make it easy to be out of the traffic. Inside, the store is well stocked (at least for what I was seeking) and I had no trouble finding things. Self-checkout worked well and I was on my way swiftly. Restrooms were clean. I've Yelped over 200 Walmarts in the US and Canada https://www.yelp.com/collection/iEN80LJSkej5A7UvndopUw/ and this one in Mount Pleasant is a good one. The store is cleaner now since they had their grand reopening. Being a Sunday I wasn't blocked by the personal shoppers as usual. Everything went fine until I went to the checkout at 8:45 AM the self checkout that they doubled in size was closed. They were only two registers open one at each end. I was number seven in line. After not moving for five minutes, another line opened up in the middle unfortunately I was boxed in and other people got there first. It's a shame that you can go through and do your shopping and have to wait forever to pay. The other problem is they don't fix their credit card machines. I've learned over the last three years after getting six new Walmart cards that it's not my card. You have to get rejected three times after inserting and then slide your card in order to pay. About six months ago I met their inspectors from the Home office. I complained about these things they seemed interested. But nothing has changed. This Walmart is the closest and most convenient for me to go to.

I was excited to come back and see how things had changed. I learned that to get the best and freshest items, get there early! The rotisserie chickens are quite hefty and taste delicious. They carry items that I can't get anywhere else. That's how I rate stores to begin with. I WILL and do regularly go to multiple places if need be, but it's a bonus to get it all done in one spot. The folks that work here are very nice. My only knock is when you bring your own bags inside ( you have to here in SC) , they pack them so heavily that I couldn't even lift them into the trunk. Thank goodness, I was able to call on another young man in the parking lot who happily and kindly assisted. He even said it was heavy. But the biggest and best reason for going to Harris Teeter is this. I begrudgingly am going to share this with my fellow Yelpers because they have done right by me all these years. HARRIS TEETER CARRIES RED VALENCIA GREEN PEANUTS!!!!! And damn fine, fresh ones too!!! The season is short so get them while you can! They are easy to make ( time consuming, but easy) and they freeze beautifully. They taste exactly like you just made them if done right. I do not like the jumbo white ones you usually find in these parts so these are a treat. Both of my refrigerator freezers are filled with them in various zip lock bag sized. Snack, 2people and PARTY size. I thought I was going to have to drive 5 hours for my other straight from the farmer source. If you say you hate them because they taste like beans, I am fine with it. Just means more for me!!! Harris Teeter, thank you!!!

She agreed, and we went together today, having a good time grabbing new products at good prices up and down the aisles. But then we get to the checkout and damn.... There are more than 8 availabe registers and only one person checking people out. There were several people with carts filled to the brim, all waiting in the same line to be rung up. Then on top of it, we all had to bag our own stuff which proceeded to hold up the line either further. I understand when we have to help out at places from time to time (and in fact, I often like to) but for it to be an expectation is wild. And multiple employees walked by without an offer of help. I mean I guess I could get it when you've got a young adult customer doing the job, but 70-something year olds? Is it the generation? This store? This company? That was very bizarre, ro say the very least. (If I wanted to bag my own pile of things, then I would have gone to the self checkout....) I see now why we will be continuing with Publix. The customer service is off the charts, with friendly people helping with checkout, bagging, and even loading the car. Not to mention they know their regulars by name.... This Harris Teeter can't even come close. We tried, Mt P, HT! But not again. I'll stick to other grocery stores while in the Charleston area.

Most excellent birthday!!! 6/4/18Dropped off more prescriptions and received the usual cordial and welcoming greetings. I feel like a part of the family here. They're not as cheap as Walmart but they make up for it and more with their friendly and personal service. All of them go a step further to do things right. Update: Stardate 1/30/2018 I went in for a medication refill and was told there were no refills. I told them that I had refills on the other meds I'd brought in the same day and would appreciate their taking another look and calling my Doc tomorrow if they didn't find it. Fortunately they keep the paper copies on file. Jonathan called back awhile later and said he'd looked at the paper copies and sure enough, there was the missing prescription stuck to the back of another prescription from the same doctor. This was what I had asked for, but clearly above and beyond the normal level of service. Jonathan apologized even when I told him there was no need as the right thing ultimately happened as a result of his Spidey Senses. I highly recommend the Pharmacy and all of the great folks who work there. High fives all round. I have to call out one of the employees in the pharmacy again. Just when you think it can't get better... Jonathan is The Man! Case 1. They can't find one of my prescriptions in their computer. I need this one. I told him that I had brought in multiple Rx's. Maybe one had gotten stuck to the back of another, but I was 103.9% sure I had given them this Rx. FFWD to later that night. Jonathan went to wherever they keep their hard copies and searched. Sure enough there it was. There was excitement in his voice on the voicemail he left on my phone. FFWD again. My wife is traveling and has an Rx she needs, but will not be able to be filled until after she leaves (agreement is reached, problems ensue on other end that she's traveled to, she returns home a few days later.) Another employee cannot fill the Rx upon her return. Jonathan steps out of phone booth with red S on his chest. He makes it happen. Were there problems? Yes. Did an employee solve those so we have our meds filled? Yes. Did he go above and beyond normal procedures to make sure that his customers got what they needed? Yes, twice. Is Jonathan an All-Star? Why yes. So I turned him in to the store manager. At first it was yeah, yeah he's a good guy. After my explanation and request to recognize him in some way that he would appreciate the manager was truly in agreement. I like this manager t, Mr. Billy Ford.

This issue relates to a raincheck that was issued after the lobster tail promotion problems that occurred on February 26. When I arrived at the store on March 6 to pick up the lobster tails tied to my raincheck, the seafood employee (Ty) located a box that contained five lobster tails. My raincheck allowed for up to three tails, and I asked if the store would be willing to honor the raincheck for all five since that was the quantity available in the box. Ty immediately said no, which I understood. However, I then politely asked if he could check with the store manager to see whether an exception could be made. Ty refused to do so and told me I would have to call the manager myself if I wanted that request made. While standing at the seafood counter, I called the store to ask for the manager. At that point, Tristan, the manager on duty, came back to the seafood counter, and I calmly explained the situation. During that conversation, Ty began interrupting, raising his voice, and accusing me of lying while I was trying to speak with the manager. I told Tristan that the interaction was becoming unacceptable and that I would likely need to report the situation to Harris Teeter corporate. As Tristan and I began walking away from the counter, Ty started clapping loudly and shouting insults toward me, saying something along the lines of "go ahead and do that." Regardless of the raincheck question, this kind of behavior toward a customer is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I have been a Harris Teeter customer for years and have never experienced anything like this. I hope Harris Teeter reviews this situation and addresses the conduct that occurred at the seafood counter.

They are kind and polite in a genuine way, not a mechanical way with rote responses. Publix always puts customers first. During the hurricane chaos, they remained open without forcing employees to stay, only those that wanted to. It's the day before Thanksgiving today, and about 4pm. There is no parking available in the Publix lot so I was dreading what to expect inside the store. Surprisingly pretty calm! Shelves were being continually stocked with all the holiday needs. I asked for assistance 3x and was physically shown exactly where my item was, once by a manager. I was wished Happy Thanksgiving bu pretty much everyone and again, not in a rehearsed way. All cash registers were open and there were no long lines. The best thing I like is the variety of people that work here. From young school aged kids to much older "kids" who are probably post retirement. There are middle aged professional looking men and women, to the college student type. All walks of life can be seen here, all seeming to be happy to be working here. There are several adults with special needs that work here too and I was asked if I needed help from a young man who had Down's syndrome. He led me to what I needed and he told me all about his Thanksgiving and wanted to know about everything about mine. It made my day! Someone was interested in my little Thanksgiving!!! Without hesitation, I would say that a store where the workers are happy to work there is a store I support.
