I wanted to document a very disappointing experience I had at the Harris Teeter seafood counter on March 6. This issue relates to a raincheck that was issued after the lobster tail promotion problems that occurred on February 26. When I arrived at the store on March 6 to pick up the lobster tails tied to my raincheck, the seafood employee (Ty) located a box that contained five lobster tails. My raincheck allowed for up to three tails, and I asked if the store would be willing to honor the raincheck for all five since that was the quantity available in the box. Ty immediately said no, which I understood. However, I then politely asked if he could check with the store manager to see whether an exception could be made. Ty refused to do so and told me I would have to call the manager myself if I wanted that request made. While standing at the seafood counter, I called the store to ask for the manager. At that point, Tristan, the manager on duty, came back to the seafood counter, and I calmly explained the situation. During that conversation, Ty began interrupting, raising his voice, and accusing me of lying while I was trying to speak with the manager. I told Tristan that the interaction was becoming unacceptable and that I would likely need to report the situation to Harris Teeter corporate. As Tristan and I began walking away from the counter, Ty started clapping loudly and shouting insults toward me, saying something along the lines of "go ahead and do that." Regardless of the raincheck question, this kind of behavior toward a customer is completely inappropriate and unprofessional. I have been a Harris Teeter customer for years and have never experienced anything like this. I hope Harris Teeter reviews this situation and addresses the conduct that occurred at the seafood counter. read more

My appreciation of HT has deteriorated in the last few years. They have completed a recent remodel, which made changes to the produce department view and look. It actually cleared the line of sight across the department but also made smaller holding power. Then the other major change was to add more self checkouts and reduce the # of staffed registers. But the service here has changed, to a lesser quality. Many times they are stocking in the daytime, but when trying to shop and pass by the staff just stay in the way. With less staffed registers, it means longer lines. Then with Kroger's takeover, the private brand has also switched, which I find is a lesser quality. But the store is always in good condition, clean, with fresh perishables, it has a with a well run Rx, and a gas station. read more

I like this store and the people working here. Recently the store stopped carrying fresh packages of Knishes. I contacted management and corporate in St. Matthew's. The lack of concern for this Jewish staple and alike has reminded me of that all the money they spend on customer service , cultural diversity , and concerns are a smokescreen. read more

Had a really lame experience Sunday, 3/23, at the sub counter. After waiting a few minutes for any sort of acknowledgement, approached one of the employees, asking if I could get a sandwich. She(Camille?) was obviously on a personal phone call at the time, and seemed pretty pissed about having to do her job. She all but ignored me, then got some other guy(Chris, I think) to make my sandwich. The whole time they were halfassing, they bitched about when bonuses arrived. "Camille" gave an "Eat Shit" look when I thanked her for the order. See ya Publix next time read more

Love this store. Always clean and easy to shop. Whether it's to just run in and pick up something or do a weeks shopping I never worry that I'll wait too long to pay or not find what I need. read more

The pharmacy decided to celebrate Black Friday because as the pharmacist said they are human too and should celebrate. The problem is when a doctor office puts sick medicine in that is needed that day , it doesn't say it closed, they don't answer the phones, and we only know by going there. This is such poor customer care, and we have to wait an extra day for meds, only to find out one is back ordered for several days. I was hoping this pharmacy would be good since it is very close to where we live but unfortunately they are not reliable. read more

Visited Harris Teeter on 41 Weds. Used the ladies room, which had the very strong distinctive odor of old urine. This indicates to me that the facilities have not been cleaned properly. I saw the manager talking to the Pepsi vendor/ rep. I hung back a little waiting for a chance to speak. The manager never got the hint. Today I needed coffee for my visitors. I wake up early & saw last evening that HT opens at 6 AM. I thought no problem my guests sleep longer than I do. Rolled up to HT & an employee was outside. She said "We're cleaning floors and won't be open until 8. . Hopefully, the floor cleaning includes the ladies room. read more

Love that Harris Teeter is right by my neighborhood. They have plenty of items needed for last minute run ins as well as full on grocery shopping !! I especially love their brick oven pizza. I just wish they sold it as well as the food bar until 9. Some of us work long hours and have kids with after school activities. It would be nice to pop in a grab a quick dinner. One other thing, lower the salad bar price per lb and I might go every day. Toppings weigh a lot even though the lettuce doesn't ! read more

As far as supermarkets go, this Harris Teeter is amazing. It is comparable to Whole Foods without the ridiculous prices. The cold and hot parts aren't as expensive but the food is top notch. The staff is very friendly, and the whole supermarket is very inviting and clean. The supermarket is meant for the residents of this area. I'm all about customer service. I love the breakfast sandwich on a bagel served at Harris Teeter, but I rarely get one because of the negativity one of their long time employee always displays. It's just to customers as I have seen her light up on interactions with other employees. She obviously doesn't like her customers and because of that she doesn't like her job, yet she doesn't quit to find a job of her dreams. I see that she has so much potential, but she is restricting herself to working in entry-level position. Sad really. read more

6/20/2018 The lady at the flower counter put together a beautiful bouquet of 60 roses for my bride on her birthday. She did it with great care and it shows!! Most excellent birthday!!! 6/4/18Dropped off more prescriptions and received the usual cordial and welcoming greetings. I feel like a part of the family here. They're not as cheap as Walmart but they make up for it and more with their friendly and personal service. All of them go a step further to do things right. Update: Stardate 1/30/2018 I went in for a medication refill and was told there were no refills. I told them that I had refills on the other meds I'd brought in the same day and would appreciate their taking another look and calling my Doc tomorrow if they didn't find it. Fortunately they keep the paper copies on file. Jonathan called back awhile later and said he'd looked at the paper copies and sure enough, there was the missing prescription stuck to the back of another prescription from the same doctor. This was what I had asked for, but clearly above and beyond the normal level of service. Jonathan apologized even when I told him there was no need as the right thing ultimately happened as a result of his Spidey Senses. I highly recommend the Pharmacy and all of the great folks who work there. High fives all round. I have to call out one of the employees in the pharmacy again. Just when you think it can't get better... Jonathan is The Man! Case 1. They can't find one of my prescriptions in their computer. I need this one. I told him that I had brought in multiple Rx's. Maybe one had gotten stuck to the back of another, but I was 103.9% sure I had given them this Rx. FFWD to later that night. Jonathan went to wherever they keep their hard copies and searched. Sure enough there it was. There was excitement in his voice on the voicemail he left on my phone. FFWD again. My wife is traveling and has an Rx she needs, but will not be able to be filled until after she leaves (agreement is reached, problems ensue on other end that she's traveled to, she returns home a few days later.) Another employee cannot fill the Rx upon her return. Jonathan steps out of phone booth with red S on his chest. He makes it happen. Were there problems? Yes. Did an employee solve those so we have our meds filled? Yes. Did he go above and beyond normal procedures to make sure that his customers got what they needed? Yes, twice. Is Jonathan an All-Star? Why yes. So I turned him in to the store manager. At first it was yeah, yeah he's a good guy. After my explanation and request to recognize him in some way that he would appreciate the manager was truly in agreement. I like this manager t, Mr. Billy Ford. read more

This location has quickly become one of my favorite Harris Teeter stores to shop at. It's clean, the staff is friendly, carries a wide variety of groceries, has some of the freshest produce in town, and it even has a Starbucks kiosk in there. Located off Highway 41 across from the Dunes West/Park West neighborhood and next to the Rivertowne neighborhood it is in a very convenient central location and it is easy to get into and out of the parking lot; which also has dedicated parking spots for golf carts. I have searched the Mt. Pleasant/Charleston area up and down for a place (other than the farmers markets) that has a variety of fresh produce; and have finally found a place. This Harris Teeter store location has some of the best produce of chain grocery stores in the area. This store also has a great meat department, seafood department, and bakery / deli; all of that which makes up a great grocery store. Other than just having great groceries and a Starbucks this location also has a great staff. Every time I visit this store the staff is super friendly and helpful; going out of their way to help find the items you need. read more

Love this local Harris Teeter. Everything I need within a mile. Staff are friendly & very helpful. Of course the Starbucks within is too easy! Love the International Food Section which has a good selection of Irish & British Favorites not just Mexican! Good deals in wines. I have to emphasize heavily that the employees at this store are super helpful & friendly. I've always had a pleasant experience here. The butcher shop staff are fantastic & the meat is always spot on. By the way, I've been to all the local Harris Teeters & this one on 41 is by far the best in all aspects. read more

In reference to the Pharmacy. STAY AWAY !!! The Pharmacy has serious customer service issues. Since we switched Pharmacy's to this location after moving to the area. We'll get call saying our prescriptions are ready, go to pick them up and the Tech says they are showing ready but they can't find them. This has happened over 3 times. in the last month. Other customers in line with us at this location have also had the same problems. The Reps are less than helpful and are very short with you when you complain about the both the wait in line and lack of service at this location. The most recent issues was on 6.23.17 when I went to pick up 3 prescriptions, after I was called and texted that it was ready. when I arrived only one prescription was ready and they said they couldnt find the two others even though they showed ready and waiting. We waited in line 20 minutes and we're asked to "Step Aside" so they could help other customers and after they "Helped" the other customers while they would work on finding our prescriptions. We talked to the store manager "Mark' and he very nice but said "His hand's we're tied" because he wasn't the Pharmacy Manager. We couldn't wait and they they said they would find/fill the prescriptions and call me before closing to come pick them up. NO CALL !!! Tried to call the Pharmacy several times that evening and NO ONE picked up the phone and you couldn't leave a message. Finally got through to the Pharmacy at 4pm on 6.24.17 and they said 3 of 4 prescriptions needed we're filled. I asked them to fill all including the 4th that was supposed to be ready on the 23rd of June. I've been without my needed prescriptions now since the 22nd of June. At this time I"m so frustrated (as we're other customers in line with me) that I will be switching my prescriptions back to CVS after i pick up my prescriptions today, assuming they are actually ready. read more

This is "My" Harris Teeter...aka...The Teeter. It is always clean, pretty darn fast to get you checked out, solid inventory, very friendly staff, and solid produce that isn't old or insanely priced. They usually have good deals that mean something - not like Target where it's like $2 off if you buy two bulk packages of 100 rolls of toilet paper. Da fuck Target...that ain't a deal. This location is great for its convenience and closeness to home. This location ALWAYS has great staff, CLEAN and CLEAR aisles at all times I've been there and the selection of food is MASSIVE!!! It's nice to see such variety and freshness. My daughter loves the dips that they have and their deli section is breathtaking lol I know grocery shopping is supposed to be a chore but shopping here makes you forget all that. read more

On my Way to a job that was all night 7P to 7a. I got their broccoli soup with cheddar and it was horrible. The broccoli was hard, there was no flavor, there was little cheese in it it was horrible !Whatever you do, don't get their soup or if you're going to get their soup taste a little bit of it first so you're not disappointed because I had no way to get go back to that store to get something else because I was already at work, so as of right now I'm just in a bad situation and very irritable because I have no way to get decent food. Dropped into Seafood Dept to pick up some pre-ordered lobsters on New Year's Eve. My bride asked for some very, very specific packaging arrangements. I was a bit embarrassed, but both Dre and Ty handled the situation smoothly, smartly, and professionally. I am disabled now and they really try to go extra to help me out. Probably my biggest complaint is the don't have Cherry Garcia Frozen Yogurt by Ben and Jerry's...NEVER get in between me and that...but since I have not been able to find it since moving back to Mt P and Charleston I assume it is a distributor issue. We tend to go later in the evening and I am pretty happy. Always wish aisles had less displays in them as it is hard to get around them in my scooter but it is 10X better than when I lived in Manhattan. This place had great food and was FRESH. Open late - satisfied my need for a late meal without having to get fast food.

i went to order a sub sandwich from the sandwich bar and i had the worst experience i've ever had at this harris teeter. i've been coming here and ordering a sub at least once a week for as long as i can remember and it's never been this bad. the lady making my sandwich ,Nacy, was the most rude person i have ever met at harris teeter. i would tell her my order and she would shake her head and sigh and just throw things on my sandwich like she didn't care. when she was also it finished she stopped and turned to her coworker and said "thank god i only have 15 more minutes then i get to go home" and pumped her fist. i don't care if you say that because i say the same thing at my job but you NEVER say that in front of a customer. the majority of time i order a sandwich here she is the one making it and i have absolutely never had a pleasant experience with her. read more

I love this HT. I just wish it was the HT on my way home. I've never had a negative interaction with any of the employees here. I use their pharmacy here too and they are a 24 hour store so if we have a late night emergency, this is the first place we check. I just subtract 1 star because with the amount of wine they have at this store, there are only about 10 bottles in there I'd actually drink. Harris teeter advertises a $11.99 lobster dinner special from 4 to 7 PM. Waited for nearly 35 minutes, I was told at 4:05 lobsters would be out 10 minutes tops. I don't know what planet the management of Harris Teeter lives on, But in my world, if I ran my business the way they do I'd be out of business pretty quickly. Left at 4:35, no lobsters, and a bunch of people standing around in their polo shirts trying to figure out how to put a lobster, potato, and a piece of corn into a to-go container. No dinner tonight, and I'm late for a lacrosse practice with my daughter. read more

Pre-ordered Christmas dinner and when I went to pick up today there were some challenges. I was really frustrated and Brian, one of the managers, handled the situation and went above and beyond. He really understands customer service. Having spent many years working with customers, I know things don't always go right but when the business empowers its employees to make decisions that will fix the situation, customers will forgive and repay with their loyalty. The lettuce looked old and some pieces were brown on the salad bar. They were out of ranch dressing. The hot bar food looked like it was put out hours before. The food looked terrible so I didn't try anything. The salad was ok, definitely not fresh. Doubt I'll go again for a quick meal. read more

As a frequent shopper and fellow employee I can't thank the people of Harris teeter enough for the job experience and for giving me he opportunity to meet so many new friends and for accepting me into the Harris teeter community. After working there many months I have been able meet so many new people that come through my line, many of whom are regulars which is great because we get to continue our conversations where we left off.
