Sunoco off of Ladson road is in a very safe area of town. Moreover it's extremely easy to get in and out of in a relatively fast manner. Inside is wide open and relatively clean. While I didn't go through all the isles, it's better than some gas stations where you feel a bit antsy. The shelves are stocked with plenty of snack selections. Also for those who are "Mt Dew" nutcases like me, they have the exclusive Infinite Swirl in their fountain machine. Trust me - get it, it's awesome As for the employees the clerk was pretty nice and fast. I didn't inspect the bathrooms so nothing there to report. Also, I can't speak on gas b/c I didn't fill up. That means I'm not sure about pump speed, if they have window washing units or an air tank. But if you're just needing to stop on in, there should be no issues.

First of all, the location is easy to get in and out, ample parking and the main road right there. It's in a very safe section of town while inside and outside are extremely clean. Any one will pick up on that immediately walking in, which should put any customer at ease. The produce section ROCKS. I mean it. For instance, I've been hunting for watermelon radish for a long time at 3 other chains and nothing. Harris Teeter had, watermelon radish, dragon fruit, buddha fingers, Rambutan, fresh exotic (not dried) mushrooms and so on. Moreover, I inspected some raspberries and a few other things - no mold! Best produce besides a farmers market! Next, it looks as if they're experimenting taking a page out of midwestern stores' playbook. They have a bar here! Now being a single gentleman I often like meeting women at a grocery store - although I always find the attractive women have some sort of rock on their finger. But I'm seriously considering coming back when it's open, if it's a true bar and not just a wine, beer sampling area. Not that I don't love a good wine tasting but my imagination tells me I would enjoy the upper crust time of "fu-fu, bougie" women that I envision would be partaking here. I need to do more research but I love this idea for the greater Summerville area. While I didn't get any of their baked, seafoods, meats, salads, etc they have by far the best selection, excluding specialty butchers and fish mongers. Their fresh bread laced with rosemary and olive oil danced on the air while chocolate perfumed a few isles. I scanned over everything and cursed my diet b/c I could have really destroyed their food here. As for prices, it's probably just a bit higher than their competitors but I don't mind paying a little higher for a more robust selection. I mean, I saw things like phyllo cups, the newest fall items already being stocked in July, a wider selection of health foods and the list goes on and on. Finally the people here are extraordinary and go the extra mile. I asked where something was and the clerk took me too it. They didn't say "isle 4 by the bread" but nope they wanted to make sure I got what I needed. Moreover I don't have a card, No Problem! They gladly slid the store card in the reader to give me a discount! Come on... who else does that!? As far as grocery stores - this is where you want to go. The only thing lacking the variety of instore made food options and a place to dine. Granted, I came from Austin TX where we had HEB, literally 5 restaurants in the grocery store. Same for Hy-Vee in Overland Park KS. Those Midwest grocery stores - they have full dining experiences. What's next a movie theatre!? Everyone else in Summerville had the same idea because the store was PACKED. It is also authentic- It felt like I was back in a Japanese "kombini" or convenience store. This store doesn't have everything that a kombini has, but they have ALL THE SNACKS! They also have egg salad sandos, onigiri, and other fresh foods. You need to time your visit around when those items are restocked so you don't miss out. We arrived about an hour after the items were stocked and they were out of several things and almost out of others. I got an egg salad sando and it reminded me so much of Japan. The bread wasn't EXACTLY the same, but for $5.99 and not having to fly across the world, I'll take it. The onigiri tasted almost exactly like a Japanese kombini, although you do have to assemble it a little. I'll definitely be back, and I wish we could get another location in the Charleston area. Japanese culture is popular and fun, and I would love to see more businesses like this that are centered around other countries and cultures.

My kids of course had a great time and unlike, say, H&L they had helpful signs for every item explaining what it was and what it tasted like. Prices were fair and inline with my expectations and experiences. This isn't stuff being shipped from overseas in large quantities for mass distribution so I expect it to cost more than US equivalent. I paid for $20 worth of gas and didn't think I had to check my gas gage to make sure the gas went in the tank. So I pumped the gas and pulled off got on the interstate and happened to look down and then realized that my gas gage never moved. I'm thinking my car's gage is messed up and nope I paid for $20 worth of air in my tank. Couldn't very well go back because I already drove about 10-15mins down the road and didn't think they would honor it. So I took that loss and decided to give them another chance. It happened again, but this time I checked before I even fully cranked my car up. So they did honor it this time and I've been coming back for all my needs since. Also, I drive for a living so I frequent all kinds of gas stations, but I try my best to find a Parkers before others. I really like the atmosphere in most of them, but not all. I've come across some truly mistreated ones. The College Park Rd one is by far my favorite out of all of them. I believe it starts with the management at any work environment to have a very good work environment. If the employees are treated right and with respect, but also held to a certain standard then they'll do the job and want to show up and be respectful to Everyone. The manager over the College Park store is really awesome I see her working right along with her employees, talking to them about whatever they need to talk about or what needs to be done and so on. I've watched her run the kitchen, work the floor, train employees, take deliveries all while talking to the customers and helping them during the process or her staff will jump right in and take over whatever she needs them to. They're all a truly wonderful team in that store and I always recommend the store to anyone whom may ask or don't ask I tell them anyway to go to the Parkers on College Park Rd you'll be happy with the service and the cleanliness. Follow up the aisle toward the butcher in the back, I saw many refrigerated Guatemalan specialties -- cheese, tortillas, creme. I did not look much down other aisles otger than for a quick curiosity peek, revealing plates, religious candles, seasoning and spices. Many of the dry goods one would find in a full service grocery store. Two pounds of carne asada meat, one pound each of beef and pork sausage links, eggs, milk and off I shuffled to the counter. Although my Spanish is no bueno, the workers were so helpful and they did speak English, they made me feel welcome and appreciative of my business.

While I do find some great hot sauces and some other items, I feel that the standard items are higher priced than most grocery stores. For that reason, I only end up purchasing a few select items from the grocery area. Eatery: I love going in for tacos or a platter. I need to try some of the other items too. It's great that there are so many options, but it's also like a food court and you need to go to different places for different things. Until you've been a few times, you kinda have to figure it out for yourself. The food is always great though. I have a few tacos that I haven't loved, but I just don't order those ones when I go back. As of now it's set up great for getting food to go and then they have a bunch of tables if you want to dine in. It would be great if they added some more atmosphere to the dining experience like their taqueria in Johns Island.
