Sad store conditions here - freight blocking the main aisles, sections of the store a mess and not shoppable. Then empty sections, how is men's underwear section so empty? Ordering, replenishment, and operations are obviously poorly run. This makes shopping online more understandable. read more

Post holiday season a week and a half out and was on the search for some clearance items. This location had much more inventory than the one in Goose Creek plus had accurately priced items for the 70% off sale. I know most seasonal items are by the garden center but I was truly looking for cards. I found a goldmine of cards and stickers at the card section close by electronics of the store vs. solely by the seasonal section. As far as miscellaneous items, there were still a smattering of random stuff like press-on nails to decor. Only self-checkout was open and if I had to remove items, there was a staff member there ready to help and approve any changes. I was able to use a combination of cash and card at the register which helps my coin purse. read more

Yes, this Walmart allows overnight parking in their lot and I had no trouble, toasty warm in my sleeping bag on a comfortable mattress in the back. This store was loaded with clearance and African American products, toys and books. It was definitely a pleasure to ship in the womenswear section and load up on marked down items. lol is all I can say. They really have a hard time staffing. But don't worry they have a greeter while the entire return and customer service station is closed. The greeter was not very friendly and had incorrect information. I had an online pickup and had to find another associate to help. Waited for a single associate to get my small bag of items I ordered the day prior for 10 minutes when no one else was here waiting. Don't use for online pickup. This was our go to spot for odd ball needs while vacationing in Charleston. Parking lot was always crazy, like most Walmarts, just be cautious. My bosses cut my salary and my responsibilities (this time) because I used ChatGPT to write a PR release about our loyalty to investors and it drew way too heavily on the lyrics to "Glory of Love" by Peter Cetera ("I am a man who will fight for your honor, I'll be the hero you're dreaming of..."). My bosses were so angry they sent me home for the day. Given my new salary constraints, I decided to go to Wal-Mart for my groceries to save some money. (SpaghettiOs and tuna fish cost half as much at Wal-Mart as they do at Publix for those who don't know.) And I have to say, I forgot how much I feel at home here. After a long day of being yelled at by my bosses, the cold, indifferent stares of the Wal-Mart employees felt like warm hugs. Having someone stare through the back of my head with no interpersonal or emotional connection is such a relief after 10 straight hours of being the inveterate source of someone's frustration and rage. It's so great to take my cart to the single open cashier (because if you have 15 or more products, that's the only option to leave the store), wait 30 minutes, and then have the cashier continue their phone conversation instead of saying hello or registering my existence when I have a comment or question. This is the kind of invisibility I could get used to. Also, it's heartening to go to Wal-Mart and find it abundantly clear that there are employees who hate their job even more than I do. Security alarm went off when exiting even though I had paid for item. But there's a magical man in the parking lot. Has been there 34 years . The Cartmaster ........ 85 year old Mister John ...... Has pushed more than two million carts into the store ... rain or shine ... hot or cold ..... all with a look of pleasant determination on this face and usually while singing a song..... gospel or old soul music like Sam Cooke. my wife and I bought a helium tank and balloon kit for our daughter's birthday and my wife didn't have the exact card that she used to purchase the item when we took it back. The items valve was stuck closed and could not be open by hand, so I took it back after purchasing another one from Party City. The girl working in service told me that Walmart took items back without a receipt. I can understand this for someone who commonly takes things from Walmart and does returns. I'll be honest... I grew up going to this Walmart. Back when it was the hotspot and had Applebee's located next to it. However, trying to do curbside there these days is a joke. People park in the spots for curbside and nothing is done about that. Lots of tourists and rudeness of customers in the store. Still the same place it was 20 years ago, but with a lot more going on. My love-hate relationship with this location continues. Heck, it's hard not to love the (always) great pricing on my favorite staples such as Jif, Thomas's Everything Bagel Thins, Velveeta slices, Skinnygirl dressings, other condiments, cereals, etc. And, at just $0.57 a quart, their Great American fruit-flavored sparkling water, my go-to for all day long hydration, can't be matched, especially the blueberry and blackberry lemonade. What irks me to no end are the always in need of re-stocking shelves. Too often, many of the items for which I've routinely made a special trip are increasingly no longer available as Walmart continues to drive its customers to bulk purchasing on-line. Horrible customer service. I purchased a Wal-Mart + membership to get groceries delivered since I have a new baby. It's supposed to be more convenient to get groceries delivered to my home. Instacart charges ridiculous mark ups on groceries so I thought Walmart was the way to go. I have been using Wal-Mart now for maybe 6 months. The service is very hit or miss. The last three orders have been delayed for some reason. I suppose staff shortages? They often send meat that is past the expiration date or fruit that is spoiled. Today I received a bottle of dawn that clearly has product missing. I know there is an internet trend of going to Walmart (seems like the kind of patrons they attract) and filling your product bottle from another that is on the shelf. I get it, thugs who are "sticking it to the man" for cheating them out of their product. The only person you are hurting is other innocent customers. I can't believe a Walmart employee would send this to my home. (See photo) Yes, you can submit a complaint online but then you are sometimes asked to make a return in store. This defeats the purpose of online grocery ordering and delivery. If I wanted to go to the store, I would just shop in person. I think I will pay more for Instacart and get quality items. read more

As a Yelp Elite member, I'm a fan of checking-in at a lot of the places I go. So, I checked in at this Walmart and afterwards, I received a badge.. basically for visiting places with low ratings. I looked and this Walmart had 2 stars. This inspired me to write a decent review fore my experience was really a 4 Star experience. The one thing that I need to complain about right off the rip is that the women's clothing section is way too small! With the location of this store, I assumed it would be filled with lots of clothes, maybe less clearance and higher priced items, but come on.. barely anything! I looked around for a while and had a lot of trouble finding leggings. I found an associate as soon as I looked for one and she turned out to be really cool and walked me over to where the leggings were hiding. They actually do have a wide variety of leggings if you can find them... ask an associate. I picked out about 7 pairs of leggings and went to the register with 3. I ended up with 2 due to one not having a tag, I told them not to worry. Cheap! Like $7 for 2 leggings! Plus I dealt with two different cashiers and they were both very friendly and polite. I also did not have to wait in line at all at the register, no one was ahead of me. I went around 2pm on Wednesday. Overall, I had a good experience at this Walmart. I would say try it out, but maybe not for women's clothes unless you want to try to hunt for those leggings!! read more

Stocked sometimes. Workers complain about people openly and hate to do anything "extra" such as open more than one check out line. All lanes closed except for one of their self checkouts and the line can be 15-20 people deep. I know times are rough but the effort is nonexistent. read more

The young lady named Maine working in electronics did a beautiful job helping with setting up service on a Verizon phone. She wAs polite and patient throughout the process even when other customers needed help, she multitasked beautifully. Thee boss in that area Linette went to get her to address my questions. Wal-Mart - What can you say about Wal-Mart that hasn't already been said. Well this is the worst Wal-Mart location ever! It appears they are trying to do something here based on all the construction, but the construction has been going on long enough to tear down the store and build a new one. Well over 6 months has this store been under construction. When you enter the store you will notice that it's going to be difficult to find what you need if you need to visit several departments; the items from several different departments are all mixed up with other items and nothing is where you would expect it to be. It's a real cluster %#$#! Other than going on a scavenger hunt for what you need at this location it is the attitude of the employees working here that also make it a crappy Wal-Mart. Every employee we have encountered in this store has some sort of attitude that they do not want to be there; acting as if you are burdening them for shopping there. Although it's convenient to shop at this location, it's sometimes a lot better to just drive 5 miles down the road to the next Wal-Mart. read more

You just can't beat the prices at Walmart but after today I wonder if saving a few dollars are actually worth the ordeal of having to deal with the grumpy staff in this store. My God, I almost had my head bit off on at least two occasions when I asked a question. You know my son did a short stint at working in this location & he told me that during the "Chant" every morning they are reminded of the importance of customer service & are reminded when they see customers to acknowledge them & offer help, especially to the elderly & disabled. Fat chance of that.... so sad. He told me when he did that, he was ostracized by his peers..What does it cost to smile or be helpful ? Nothing.. It just blows me away. This is not going to be nice!! Me and my husband went to Walmart this evening at 7 p.m. We had planned to get groceries and do some Christmas shopping. We took 2 cars to keep things separated. We shopped the whole store. When I went to electronic department, I looked around for help and there was no one there. After 10 minutes trying to find a screen protector, another person paged someone. No one ever came. 20 minutes. .really???? We continued to grocerie department and got a good amount of food. At 8 pm on a Saturday night we proceeded to the check out lanes. There was no lanes open at all!!! What??? This older woman came over and told us no lanes are available and after 8 pm you have to self checkout. We are looking at two full carts, and thinking this is ridiculous!! We start checking ourselves out. This worker had to keep coming over and unlocking the machine. She tells us it is because our food was cold. What the hell? We became very upset and this lady just stands there. My husband wanted to leave. After 30 minutes we were quite annoyed to say the least. She finally walked over with a handheld scanner and rang up the rest, saving us some time. We finally completed and left at 8:30 . We spent 300 dollars, and this will never happen to us again. This is very poor customer service. This worker was only person we saw up front. This is just wrong in so many ways!! So now WALMART... machines are replacing people??. You have failed your customers in every way. You are never going to last as a business treating customers and your employees so badly!!! Shame on you Walmart. Today the lines at the registers were backed up 8 or more people at the few lines that were open. One section of self checkout was closed down. While I was shopping, I saw at least ten associates walking down isles with their cell phones congregating with other associates. Where are the Supervisors? I asked one associate if she could find someone to get an item off of a top shelf and she told me to ask another customer to help me. She too was walking with her cell phone in hand. I just called the store to speak to Customer Service and the phone rang until it ended my call. The pharmacy is the only section of this store that has offered consistent good service. Considering the amount of customers that shop at the store you would think they would care enough to offer some service. The store I am referencing is at 1481 Highway 17 North. read more
