This Nordstrom Rack continues to disappoint. The check out lines continue to be slow and the cashiers have no sense of urgency whatsoever. Today, the line was insanely long and there were only 2 cashiers. Finally, the manager and another cashier came, bit the line barely budged. I know it's hard to find employees and this may have something to do with this lack of efficiency, but Nordstrom needs to figure it out. I give 3 stars for quality of product. I recently rediscovered this Nordstrom Rack as I had kind of forgotten that it was over here. I'm a junkie for high end new balance sneakers and often see on online forums that people have had great scores at Nordstrom Rack so I decided to pop in recently. They did have a large shoe selection but what I'm looking for is pretty specific. While there wasn't much of what I was looking for, I came across a pair of Made in USA 996's. It wasn't a fun color, but you always need neutrals and it's great when you can find them for a deal. They were marked down to $80, but when I looked online, it showed them as $65 for the black friday deal coming up. My friend and I both found our size and took them up to the counter to find that $65 was the price which is a steal. We both bought a pair as well as some very cute kids clothes for the nieces and nephews which was all very well priced. My brother saw the shoes and liked them so I went online and ordered another pair for him too. i didn't get the $65 price, but I was okay with the $80 since I missed the deal and it was for Christmas. The driver did not attempt to deliver my items. I Stepped out of my house after he stopped his vehicle in front of my. When he saw me, he turned into my driveway. He said that he knocked on my kitchen door. After I told him it was my kitchen door, he said, "Oh, I thought it was another apartment." I called the store while he was on his phone with driver's services. Then, they changed my order to pickup as a means to cover up the lack of professionalism of both the driver and the store. I had the best experience shopping this store today because the checkout clerk was so incredibly nice! Like any Nordstrom Rack I've been to, you have to really search through a lot of items to find what you want. I find these stores better for shoes and accessories than clothing and it proved true today. I absolutely love the shoes I found that look and feel like "Rothy's" but they are not. I was pretty pleased with this location. The staff were friendly. The store was clean and not incredibly messy as others can be. I just wish the store was more filled with inventory. For example, the bodysuit section was mostly shirts not bodysuits. I wasn't in love with their prices. Still charing $50 for a nice tank top is a little much. They have a great accessory section, jewelry, gloves hats, and tons of bags.They have a large selection of sweaters and athletic gear too. The items are pretty sized for the most part. Along with lots of walking, my SO has lost a bunch of weight this year with the money saved on eating unhealthy food, he's being rewarded with more clothes, often from here! Today we did a quick pants return on a pair we got for him that unfortunately didn't fit properly- on the upside, found a beautiful candle instead. Also, it was $10 as opposed to $40 at Anthro. So we had our pup outside at first- and horray- guess who's dog friendly? The location has been open for a few years now, and at first we stayed away for 1-the hype to become less mad and 2- the organization & structure more, well, organized & structured! Nordstrom Rack online can be great, but every now and then I have to return an item in-store to this location. Avoid it. I have also been here to try and shop, but they have a horrible quantity and variety of women's clothes, shoes, and accessories. The store is bare. Many of their clearance clothing items were damaged with holes, loose threads, stains, broken zippers, etc. However, damages were not noted on the items' tags. read more

I've been to this location twice now, and both times left empty handed. And I really wanted to buy some shoes both visits! A fellow Yelper had sent me a pic of two new pairs of flats she had bought so I asked where she had bought them and she told me here. So I went a couple days after her visit. I walked in and headed straight back to the shoe department. I didn't have a ton of time so I asked an employee about each of the pairs of shoes. I then showed him the pic so he'd know exactly what I was looking for. We found the black flat quickly and while I tried that on he looked for the gold polka dot pair. We weren't able to find it so that was disappointing. And for the black flat it wasn't super comfortable and it was $40. When you google Nordstrom Rack the first thing it says is up to 70% off designer brands. The flats were TOMS and I'm pretty confident couldn't normally go for $125 so that shoe was not the up to part of the savings. My feeling is if I'm at an outlet or discount shop, I really want to save. I want to be wowed by great deals. And $40 for a basic black flat is not a deal IMO. read more

I ordered a new watch from Nordstrom Rack online and later the same day I noticed the watch was about $85 cheaper on the manufacturer's website. I called customer service to see if they price match and was told they only price match if the item is cheaper on the Nordstrom website. I'm returning the watch to their Mount Pleasant store and getting a credit. I'm wasting gas and Nordstrom Rack wasted shipping. Everyone could have been happy if they had adjusted the price. How did I not know this existed? I went out shopping on a mission - to prep for my upcoming vacation, as I don't own many cold-weather clothes. This was the first stop on my list since I hadn't ever been. Inside, I was greeted by multiple staff members who offered to help me find what I needed. I ended up scoring a MK rain jacket and a Calvin Klein dress that I have been HUNTING for (what are the chances!?) for under $200. I'll call that a win on my part. My only complain is the dressing room area wasn't monitored very well. I waited for a while and then went back only to be flagged down by a staff member. As a frequent Rack shopper (there is a 4-story Nordstrom with a Rack in the basement combo in Towson, Baltimore), I knew not to go to the new Bowman Place store thinking I would find what I was looking for - basically, anything somewhat age appropriate for me (read: basic black and random well priced 'designer' pieces) to enhance my pitiful wardrobe and dressy casual attire for my hub. After a quick sweep of the entire selling floor (my MO), I zeroed in on a cute, really cheap pair of black and white wide-legged and very comfy pants ... perfect for those Lowcountry happy hours and several active wear pieces for my hub. The selection wasn't so bad the prices pretty good. I'd say they were great but my overall experience left a bad taste in my mouth. I cant remember a time where it was worse than this. Security people made me really uncomfortable which is not easy. I mean the guy was literally following me around asking my name etc. Kept suggesting other names before I could answer. at first I didnt mind. I understand that my look can be perceived differently or I can be misread or understoo. I'm fine with that and I aspire to change peoples minds. We do enjoy a trip to to a NR on occasion. This location is one of the smallest we have ever been to. That being said the selection suffers because of that. What I did note is that the Women's selection is much better than the men's selection. In other locations I can find my favorite jeans and usually a pair of cool shoes. I have been here twice and both times I left empty handed but of course the girls found several treasures. The store is well laid out and the employees are pretty helpful at times. It is a shame they have such a small location and to be honest it is ill located in Mt Pleasant. It should be at the Tanger Outlet which would give them better foot traffic and the ability to have a properly sized store. read more

Nordstrom Rack Bowman Place is a great place to find quality clothing and shoes in Mount Pleasant. This store brings a different type of selection than typical stores in the Charleston area and I like having the option of being able to shop here and find something new each time. The store is large and has a really good variety of sizes that I am not able to find in other stores especially with the larger shoe sizes that I need. The staff here is very helpful and the checkout lines move quickly to get you out of there when you are ready. Overall this is a really good store that I enjoy shopping at. read more

I'm a huge fan of finding great deals, so places like the Rack are my weakness. You have to be in the mood though to bargain shop, because usually things are sort of a mess. That is not the case at this newly opened Rack. I used to manage a clothing store so I tend to notice a lot of things other people might not. I couldn't believe how well organized the racks were, things were correctly sized, the rounders weren't over crowded, and everything was very neat and tidy. The employees were very friendly even the ones who stocking the merchandise and tagging the new markdowns. This store manager deserves a big BRAVO!!!! I love Nordstrom Rack! I can always find some great deals here - make sure to go during their clear the rack sales because you usually get an extra 25% off their already great prices. They have a great selection of designer purses and wallets - mostly Kate Spade and Michael Kors. Jewelry selection is good as well. I don't buy a whole lot of clothes here but every once in a while I'll find something that catches my eye. There is a small section for men - maybe 1/4 of the store. read more

I would like to say that I LOVE this store! I think all the people that have commented about the return policy are being silly. I was in there tonight and the things people try to return is crazy to me! First of all the return policy has NEVER changed at the Nordstrom rack. They have a 2 signs posted at the check out area and there is a copy on the back of the receipt. It clearly states that in order to return your items they must be un-worn or un-altered (including used cosmetics the nerve that someone would even try to return used cosmetics... like really?), accompanied by the receipt, with original price tags attached, and must be within 90 days. It sounds like to me all the things people are trying to return are things that don't follow this policy and then complain on this site about it. I mean 90 days?!? That's way better than every other retailer. I spoke with a manager who was working in that store tonight and she was such a delight! I was looking for something to wear to a conference that I was speaking at. It's for about 5000 people so you can imagine the pressure and anxiety I had looking for an outfit! She was so helpful and knowledgeable about the products and brands she carried. I walked out with my complete outfit and a few more! They are world known for their customer service and this store knocks it out of the park! Every time I come in there (which is 2-3 times a week) I have the best experience. I do agree with the store looking light on product. I think if they would get more stuff in that would be better. But I guess not having a lot of stuff is great means people are buying lots of things! But would love to see even more come in! Corporate Nordstrom should give this team an award and a prize because I think they put up with a lot of people yelling at them for things they can't control! I think customers should keep that in mind if they are shopping there. Be respectful to the people working there. I have always been a huge fan of Nordstrom / Rack. In Atlanta, I was a regular shopper with a private shopper. So moving here, without a Nordstrom, freaked me out. But I figured the Rack would have some good deals, along with online ordering for Nordstrom. Went by today for my first visit. Was not impressed at all by the selection...and that's a first. Maybe because I am from New York, then Atlanta, that my expectations are higher; but this clothes was casual/lounge wear, with a few choices for work outfits. There was one friendly and outgoing sales rep, who later ended up disappointing me beyond words. Knowing I needed alterations, she allowed me to shop (and waste my time) to later find out that the seamstress wasn't at work today!!! REALLY? Others sales reps were trying on clothes in the aisles...very professional. And the rep in the dressing room couldn't multi-task to save her life. I will not be back. ...and now I doubt I have a use for the Nordstrom card any longer... read more

Nordstrom rack and Nordstrom are supposed to work as a whole they do have different return policies but if you are returning a Nordstrom product to a Nordstrom rack the Nordstrom policy will still be stood by this is coming from Nordstrom corporate office so if your a customer of Nordstrom and trying to make a return at this store beware of the management, you will be treated with no courtesy towards Nordstrom policies. I would have gladly gone to a Nordstrom but there are none in this state. read more

Finally a great department store in Charleston. They have a great selection of designer brands and great pricing. Constantly getting in new merchandise. So hard to go into this store and leave empty handed. Love that they also have on site alterations- perfect for the designer denim that's too long! I agree with the reviews of Mary Locke and Wendy F. below. I've found that the merchandise seems very "picked over" here. I have found some pretty good deals on random beauty products, but that section itself is very small. The Nordstrom Rack website obviously has a larger, and therefore better selection than this store, but the $7 shipping (often slow!!) per purchase is a hard blow. It is convenient to be able to return purchases at the store in Mt. Pleasant, though. I'd rather just have Nordstrom here! Their quality and customer service cannot be beaten. read more

Miserable "grand opening". Their deceptive direct-mail advertising showed an 8am opening. They made everyone stand in line for over an hour in the hot, humid weather with no restrooms. Terrible first impression! You don't know your customer base at all if you think Mt Pleasant people are fine standing in lines in that humidity. So many people left before opening or went in for 2-3 minutes and left. There were NO sales or specials. It's just a big TJ Maxx but less organized. I suggest you learn you customer base NR! First Impressions are everything....and it was horrible. I was so excited for the opening and could not be more disappointed. I doubt I will return. read more

BEWARE. Horrible customer service; they do NOT stand by the quality of their products. I went in today to return a pair of poor quality JOES jeans. They are clearly counterfeit. I was honest and respectful, told them they had been worn, but I was very unhappy with the quality. They looked at me like I had two heads for trying to return them. They brought in the manager, who told me that they cannot return clothing that has been worn per company policy, regardless of problems with quality. Had I known this was their policy, I would NOT have shopped here in the first place. So be forewarned. Also, the manager was so snippy- really?? I was being honest and respectful- there was no reason that she couldn't have at least been kind and apologetic. Her attitude was basically: tough luck for you; we don't know where our products come from or whether they're authentic or not. So you assume the risk when you buy them. Yes, the manager admitted that they have no idea if the designer clothing they sell is fake or authentic. Good grief- in the age of Amazon customer service, I can hardly believe their policy. Beware of any store that will not stand by the quality of their products- there's obviously something wrong. I had been planning to shop for my childrens' shoe and summer wardrobe that day after making my return, but I obviously walked out and will not be spending a dime at this store again. read more
