It is also a great stop for those from out of town heading to Folly Beach. The buy one get one free specials and Club Publix electronic coupons can save you a lot of money. If you're not already in Club Publix rewards, you can enroll with your phone number. However, you do not need to be a member or "have a card" to get the sale prices here. Publix shares its parking lot with quite a few businesses, so at times you may need to park further away and walk.

For example, their take-and-bake pizzas are an easy and decent dinner after a day at the beach, but to our surprise, there were none left when we stopped in around 5 PM on a Wednesday. I'm confident that this not a regular occurrence - but something to note if you're visiting during the busy season. I will echo other reviewers that mentioned narrow aisles and an interesting layout. This store is definitely on the smaller side, and can feel crowded when there's multiple people in one aisle. One way to avoid this is shopping outside of peak hours ... early in the morning our later at night. The cashiers are mostly friendly and always fast. If you come from a state with Kroger or Fry's instead of Harris Teeter, rest assured that you can still input your phone number for your shopper rewards. Another positive is that I haven't noticed a difference in prices from this store and non-touristy grocery stores. Again, it does the trick for being the only grocery store at Freshfields. Somehow, I rolled out of bed late this morning and drove to Food Lion in search of things that would alleviate the situation. In no time at all, I located sausage biscuits, advil, and Kinderlyte. During this time I had no less than three very pleasant interactions with their staff, who all were cheerful, helpful and talkative. I even stood in the parking lot and had a brief chat with the cart attendant. That's rare for me, especially considering the state I was in at the time. So if the management of this Food Lion location is reading this, know that you have an all star team working for you.
