So, of course, crossing the parking lot the cake slipped off the cart and splatted upside down inside the box. Rather than risking returning home and explaining that the cake was still edible but didn't survive the trip intact and not to worry because the beer made it safe and sound, I went back to the bakery hat-in-hand to see if they could salvage it. Despite the fact that they were clearly very busy trying to bust out several orders for the rest of the day, Will gladly took the mangled pastry into the operating room. She was able to re-ice the cake in no time and saved the day! Really grateful for their quick, efficient, and above-and-beyond-the-call-of-duty service. Helped save me from ruining a first bday!!
