I would've given this place one star if it weren't for the service. Overall, the food was mediocre and pretty underwhelming. We started with the bone marrow, which was disappointing. It had an oddly fishy taste when it should've been rich and buttery. It also lacked proper seasoning, so we ended up sending it back. For the entree, we ordered the dry aged porterhouse, priced at nearly $200. We asked for medium, but it came out well done, which was a letdown. The chimichurri didn't taste authentic, and while the signature steak sauce was fine, it wasn't anything memorable. We also ordered a side of bacon, which was decent but I've had better. The chili prawn noodles were another miss. It came with only four shrimp, wasn't spicy at all, and used spaghetti noodles, which felt off for the dish. The only real highlights were the creamed spinach and shishito peppers. Those were solid and you just can't go wrong with it. At best, I'd recommend coming here for the cocktails and the view. The food alone doesn't justify it. I added an extra star strictly because of the service. Shirley was excellent. She was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave great wine recommendations. Let's start with the positives: The service is great. The servers were enthusiastic and not pushy, came often and got the orders correct. The food is good, plating is great, everything cooked as ordered and came out on time. The steak,bacon, and pasta are all great choices. The place also looks nice and clean. The negatives for me are: you have to be aware of the prices because for some reason, there was an extra dollar added to some items. They fixed it when we pointed it out but it's more about the principle. Also, if you are in Flushing, you do have many great options for more reasonable prices. This is clearly an upscale hotel's restaurant with a nice view, weather permitting but most people in Flushing are not looking for a higher price tag. With that, the portion sizes are more for plating purposes. Good luck with parking, public transit or ride share is sort of necessary to get here. Overall, this is not a bad spot to go to, just a bit mismatched with its current environment. Also, if you do go, find the elevator and take it to the 12th floor to find the entrance. My rating is based solely on the customer service experience, not the food itself, as I was genuinely looking forward to dining here. I was selected as the giveaway winner for a dinner for two; however, the prize was ultimately given to someone else. After spending time supporting the promotion by tagging friends and sharing the post online, I was disappointed that no effort was made to properly resolve the situation beyond an apology. While the restaurant appears beautiful and the food may be excellent, customer service and accountability are equally important. I try different flavored mojitos and this place has one I hadn't tried before. Lemon Lavender! The perfect blend of bitter and sweet! The filet was perfectly seared, served on a skillet! I had a great time here celebrating a friend's birthday. We dined in their private room. It is nicely decorated and gives a good ambiance. Our waitress Jennifer was very helpful and attentive the whole time. Service was great and our drinks and food came out on time and hot. The menu has a lot of options that you can order to share with your party. Also the prices are average for a steakhouse. We ordered the steak tartare, bone marrow, tuna tartare, sliders, crab cakes, chicken bites, and chicken wings for appetizers. For entrees we ordered the ribeye, branzino, lamb rack, filet mignon, and the chilli prawns noodles. For side we had the potatoe puree, creamed spinach,asparagus, mushrooms, Mac and cheese, and the fries. My favorites were the bone marrow, chicken wings, chicken bites, the tuna and steak tartare, and the mushrooms. The chicken wings had the perfect kick to them and Ribeyes were cooked to everyone's liking, mine only needed a little more salt and was too fatty. Everyone else loved theirs though. They were a good size that some shared their entrees. For side definitely order the potatoe dishes and mushrooms. So well done. The lycheetini and the lemon lavender mojito were the best drinks. The wait for our entrées was a little longer than usual, but it was a busy Saturday night and a packed house, so it's understandable.. it was well worth the wait. Everything was delicious as usual. Our waiter was efficient and very friendly. He brought out a platter of complementary desserts for us to choose from after our meal..even though I was counting calories, I could not resist!! So I can say that I will not be going here again. I'm giving the place three stars bc the location is beautiful but as far as food goes, i was not impressed at all especially for the price. Was here recently for a work/birthday get together. Parking can be tough since it's on the 12th floor of a hotel in downtown Flushing. Take advantage of their parking assistance. If you eat at the restaurant they will valet it for $8. That's about the only deal about this place. Do not expect to come on the cheap. We all tried a few steak types family style among 12 of us. The steaks were all very good. The sides were better. Especially the mashed potatoes, asparagus, and mushrooms. The staff was great and very friendly. Ambience is intimate, cozy, and feels fancy located on the rooftop next to Tangram Came here for my friends bday celeb and the waiter was very helpful in letting us know that there would be a cutting fee of $35 but they also gave us an option to cut the cake ourselves to avoid that!! Food was decent too. Family members were craving steak but didn't want to go too far as we were visiting and staying in the area. Came here on a week night and was able to reserve via open table for party of 9. They did charge $10/pp ($90) to hold the reservation which will be used towards your bill. Location is beautiful, on top floor of Renaissance Hotel, rooftop views and outdoor seating available. FOOD- everyone in our party raved about their food, steaks (NY strip, porterhouse, rib eye, hangar steak, and fillet mignon) were cooked to everyone's liking and was perfect. Lamb racks with mushroom were delicious. Whole branzino very flavorful. Doesn't come with sides, they are extra, but had grilled asparagus, potato puree, fries, kale salad all which were great accompaniments. Dessert was average, not worth the price. Just go around the corner to Kulu desserts for a better variety and value. SERVICE- The restaurant was not full but maybe they were short staffed? I don't know. Our server Ashley was nice but not very attentive. Our libations took a very long time to get out and she even missed a drink (beer). The starters even came out before the drinks. Took awhile to flag her down for the bill. They automatically charge gratuity for party over 8 persons which is fine but at least have good service. I've been wanting to check this place out, and it has been bookmarked in my app for a while now. When I found out that someone was having their bday dinner here, I was down for it. This restaurant/ rooftop lounge is in a hotel, so it is a bit confusing since there's a separate entrance to the mall. Anyways, since we had a large party, we got the private room. It was super nice. Since we came as a group, we ordered many dishes to share. Such as the edamame with sea salt + lemon garlic butter. I savored the lemon garlic one and would've eaten the entire bowl by myself. The tuna tartare was appetizing, and it left you wanting more. The roasted bone marrow, which came with the short rib bread pudding, was flavorful. For main, I did enjoy the dry aged porterhouse along with the side of green garlic fried rice. I may have eaten too much rice because it was so scrumptious. Overall, I liked the sides more than the main dish. The service was something that could've been worked on. We came here for our 3 yr anniversary from a recommendation and for the life of us we couldn't find this place immediately which is really sad because we literally live in Flushing lol. After walking around in circles like dodos we FINALLY found the Renaissance hotel. This restaurant is on the rooftop so it's on the 12th floor - the decor was very nice and it felt like I was in the city. Spacious and open, some tables with high top seating which is the one I chose. The food was fine - I wasn't "blown away" but I was like okkkk not bad, not bad. We had the porterhouse & it did not have my eyes rolled to the back of my head in ecstasy but thankfully we shared it because I can't eat that much meat all by myself. The shrimp cocktail and oysters were fresh. Brussel sprouts were a good side but I have to say, the creamed spinach was wack. It was watery and tasted like black tea. It was so weird and disappointing considering I love spinach in every form. I loved the tiramisu! They put this chocolate funnel like thing right on top of the glass above the goods and you slowly pour in espresso, which melts it into the tiramisu. I thought that was a very interesting approach and it was SO good! I would highly recommend. Patty was our server & she was very sweet, attentive and helpful. She patiently helped take pictures for us much to my bfs dismay and embarrassment- he's not a big fan of pictures but it was our 3yr so I didn't hold back hahahaha suck it upppp Ken. We went out to the rooftop and it was beautiful! Patty came running and took more pictures of us there. Poor girl...she really came through. I could see myself on this rooftop with a glass of wine- I loved the entire layout. All in all, I would definitely come back here for a few drinks and dessert while chilling on the rooftop. This restaurant is located on the 12th floor of a skyrise, at the Renaissance Hotel. Service was very good. Attentive and warm staff. Menu options weren't overwhelming, easy to make a choice. We ordered 2 sides, a starter, and a steak to share among two people, and we had leftovers. The foraged mushrooms is a great pairing with the steak, I was dipping it in the steak oil for even more flavor. After it cools down, it gets a bit chewier, best to enjoy when it comes hot from the kitchen. The salad was alright, nothing crazy, needed to be paired with blue cheese dressing to cancel out the bitterness of the ends of the lettuce. The macaroni and cheese has a great flavor and texture, it is a popular side for a reason. Lastly, the Porter House steak cooked to medium came out in a sizzling plate and topped with sea salt, was very flavorful and tender, amazing. The steak sauce they provide if you ask for it is a light fresh version of the generic barbecue sauce you get elsewhere, and it is a secret recipe. We ate outside and had a beautiful view of the water and the city, very nice vibes. I will say you should eat the steak rather quickly before the meat sets and overcooks and isn't nearly as tender. And honey, I don't want to overstate my exuberance but 'woo wee' I think sums up our experience! From the cocktails to the views we were in for a treat as if it was all our birthdays. Of course I reviewed some comments on this location before booking but I usually like to make my own judgment of a location and compare notes. So that I will say yes pricey but the food was good!!! One issues I read was that the food takes a long time to come and that I must say was true. I would have listed this location as 5 's but I had to take one away due to the wait time for the food. Due to the wait time I actually had to ask for bread to hold us over. The food finally came and I must say it was really good. The food had flavor and was very hot. Overall, the highlight of this location is the views and the food.
