Tasty food. Always happy with what I order. Our server was very kind and made sure my daughter's food was allergy friendly.

I've reviewed this amazing establishment before but I just had another fantastic meal here and I have to share! Prime Bar and Grill hits every time, the food and service always exceeds expectations, even when I already know how good it is. Do yourself a favor, whether you live in Tehachapi or are just passing along the 58, stop into the clean, friendly and delicious Indian restaurant!

My friends and I came here to celebrate a birthday. It was my first time here! I have never really had real Indian food before, so this was my first legit experience. The staff were nice and helpful, and the inside was nice. I ordered the butter chicken and rice, which was so good! I got the spice level 3, which wasn't too spicy, but had a nice kick to it. For an appetizer I got the Onion Pakora which was also amazing, especially that little green sauce that came on the side (idk what it's called.) My boyfriend got the goat vindaloo, which was decent. We also got the garlic naan! Yum! I definitely want to come here again and try the other prime favorite dishes!

We found this on our drive home. Had been craving Indian food for a while and was excited to stop in after seeing the reviews. The service here was top notch and I was not expecting to find this level of service in Tehachapi. The food was excellent. The portions were nice. We shared the chicken, garlic naan, vegetable pakora, and rice. Even though we shared we had a lot of food left over. All of the items tasted excellent. I will definitely return if I ever find myself in Tehachapi again.

Food came our quickly and everything was delicious. Excellent service and staff were friendly.

It's the most flavorless food I've ever had. It was like eating cardboard. Didn't taste even 1 Indian spice, no salt, no pepper, absolutely 0 real Indian flavors. Took over 45 min to get my food. As far as ambiance, it's a food truck, no real ambiance to rant and rave about. 1 plus, owner was really cool. That's about it. Don't go here if you want real Indian food. The rice has a great garlic butter flavor. The naan is more like a pita but it's a high quality pita lol really good too. They are out of Bakersfield but one of the guys wife works here in Tehachapi. Older gentleman and he was great. Very attentive and nice. The decor and atmosphere were authentic Indian and it felt nice being there. Now the food. I had salad, Garlic Naan, Rice and Cheese Masala. The salad, rice and Naan were really good. However, the Cheese Masala was friggin superb. So much flavor packed in that little bowl. Was worth every penny I paid. I very highly recommend this place.

The parking lot out front was packed, which briefly gave the illusion that this place was popular. Turns out it's just an employee parking lot cleverly disguised as a restaurant. Inside? Completely empty. We were seated and immediately put under pressure by an older gentleman who handed us menus and then stood there staring, apparently afraid we might run off with them. Asking for a few minutes to decide was met with silent judgment and continued hovering. When we ordered, we clearly said we didn't want rice -- which, of course, was added to our order anyway. Apparently "no" is just a suggestion here. For drinks, we asked for tap water and were told there was none, as if plumbing hasn't been invented yet. Bottled water was the only option, which we later learned came with a surprise charge. Transparency is clearly not on the menu. The food was... fine. Not bad, not memorable, and definitely not worth the price. I've had better Indian food at Bay Area buffets where you pay a fraction of the cost and don't get bullied into ordering extras. The real shock came with the bill: nearly $100 for three dishes and water. Yes, water. Between the empty dining room, pushy service, unwanted add-ons, and wildly inflated prices, this place manages to turn a simple lunch stop into an overpriced lesson in disappointment. We won't be back -- but at least now we know where all the staff park.

Some of our favorite dishes are the chicken tandoori served on a sizzling hot metal plate, chicken tikka masala, lamb korma, saag paneer, basmati rice and garlic naan. The servings are generous and we always have enough to take home to dine again. Cocktails are very reasonable with a Moscow Mule priced at under $9. There are other alcoholic drink options in this low priced range, The buffet has many options and the food is just as tasty as regular dining, but I have only been to it a few times. We have become like family here receiving a big welcome every time we enter the door. The servers are attentive and polite and we are on a first name basis with many. Anuv has become one of our favorite servers as he greets us with a big smile and has our usual order memorized even though we dine here less than once a month. Another waiter, (Monny) went out to the neighboring grocery store to buy me a little cake for my birthday when we dined here on that day. There is room for large parties and the decor is nice with glass top tables. Curries are flavorful, spices are balanced, and the dishes generally come out the way you expect them to. It's not trying to reinvent anything, but sometimes that's exactly what you want; reliable food that scratches the itch when the craving hits. Service can be a little uneven. When the restaurant is busy, things sometimes feel rushed. And if you're ordering takeout, take the pickup time with a grain of salt. If they say 20 minutes, mentally prepare for 40. It's not unusual for orders to run double the quoted time. Still, despite those quirks, this place has stayed in rotation for a reason. The flavors hold up, the portions are solid, and it's one of those dependable neighborhood spots you keep coming back to over the years.

The staff was genuinely warm and helpful, guiding us through a very large menu that could honestly take a minute to narrow down. This is clearly a prime pit stop for anyone heading over the Grapevine, and you'll absolutely have leftovers for the road. In fact I'm hesitant to share because if I have to wait for a table at a restaurant which sits next to an abandoned and boarded up "food store" (that is literally the signage next to 'restaurant' which is for Indian Oven), then I may be somewhat unpleasant to deal with. We started with Aloo Tikki with Channa and Chili Paneer. The Channa was nice and peppery (order mild if you're unaccustomed to Indian spice levels), and the Chili Paneer was delightfully tangy. The mains were lamb vindaloo and goat biryani. The goat is on the bone, so be careful. The meat is nice and tender, the sauces are super flavorful without being overwhelming, and while I wasn't super hungry when I came in, I couldn't stop eating until my date made me.
