I have been craving Indian food for a while since moving here from Orange County. This did not disappoint and left me stuffed and wanting more! Like the other reviewer, did not get pics of the food (got take out and it always looks better when they plate it for you at the restaurant), but will definitely be coming back. They see seemed to be having a few new restaurant kinks as far as the registers go and the staff knowing the menu, but since this is only a couple days of them being open I am more than able to give a little time for all that to get worked out. read more

Wow wow wow. Who knew the best Indian food Ever would be by a truck stop in Tehachapi? Seriously delish food. Sweet staff. Very inexpensive ($3 draft 805, people!). Did I mention the amazing food? After driving all day near the end of a week-long road trip across three states, this was the best meal of the whole trip. It brought tears of joy to my eyes. No words in the English language to describe just how wonderful the food AND service was!! My husband and I split the lamb dinner. I'm a vegan and the meal came with 4 pieces of lamb, a small bowl of Aloo Mattar and due to my diet they changed the other dish to a small bowl of Aloo Gobi. My husband loved the lamb so much he ordered a lamb dish to go. He said the lamb is either as good or better then what he had in Turkey back in the 80's. It also comes with an order of Naan and my husband got the rice pudding with it and he loved everything so much. The rice pudding came with a swirl of chocolate sauce on top and he loved the combo. Also if you're a fellow CDL driver they have a 10% discount which is super nice. Claudia was our server and she rocked!! All the staff was fantastic and we can't wait to come back on our next trip. read more

We have had Indian style food from random restaurants to Indian food in Europe (which was amazing) the food here was authentic, delicious, and above any standards we could have hoped for! We were in town for the weekend and everything was either full or closing early but we found this spot. The food was delicious and the service was great. The recommendations made by our server were on point. I would definitely come here again next time I'm in town. Everyone in our party was satisfied and loved their entrees. I'm from Ridgecrest, one hour away, decided to give this place a try. SO Happy i did! Some of the best Indian food ever! I had veg. Samosas, omg!!! And chicken tikka masala 2xomg!!! Let me just say that I LOVE INDIAN FOOD! We ordered takeout for the first time this evening; we ordered garlic naan, spinach and paneer filled naan, jasmine rice, aloo gobi, saag paneer, malai kofta, and chicken tikka masala. Although the food smelled and tasted great, I was not thrilled that the saag paneer and chicken tikka masala were extremely spicy! The malai kofta was mild, and very good. We ordered all the food to be mild (their lowest scoville level) so that my son could enjoy some great food too. Well, he only ate the naan and we enjoyed the food with a gallon of milk. Hopefully, it was just an accident and their "mild" spice level is truly "mild". We will be back to try their food again since I love Indian food. I'm so excited that Tehachapi has a great place to eat Indian cuisine now! read more

Still very solid but the specialness that inspired my first review is gone. I'm not quite certain what's happened (different owners? Different cooks?) but this is no longer exceptional food. Here's an example: the salt lassi we had at a prior visit had fresh mint, cumin seeds, the perfect amount of salt, and was nice and cool (without ice); the salt lassi this visit was basically yogurt with ice. It's still good and sooo much better than most on-the-road food. But I doubt I would have written a review. Please bring back the freshness! :-) read more

This restaurant is right off of HWY58 and has some great food. Their to-go orders are prepared quickly. Be sure to order side since many of the entrees don't come with rice and such. read more

Great food. Been there twice and both time had the kofta. Service is great too. But the decor leave a lot to the imagination. 50 shades of grey. Totally does not match colorful India. Being able to order the level of spiciness was a real plus. Prime Bar and Grill Indian Cuisine one of the best Indian food you can have. Honestly it was very good the Butter Chicken was really tasty. And the owner of the restaurant made us try Mango Chili Chicken. It was very good. The waiters and bar tenders are very friendly. I really hope you guys come in and try there food. read more

AMAZING INDIAN FOOD! Coming from an Indian.. who grew up eating Indian/Punjabi food, this place is by far the best. I've been to many Indian restaurants around California, Nevada & Arizona but Prime Bar & Grill is top notch. Paneer Tikka Masala, Butter Chicken, and Saag Paneer is my top favorite with Garlic Naan! So much flavor and high quality paneer & chicken! For the price, you can't beat the quality of food they offer. Only thing I wish to change is they offer bigger portions for the same price!
