Do not recommend! My military brothers came to visit for the holidays and they were so excited to check out the town that they grew up in but they were so disappointed when the bartender had THE WORST ATTITUDE! It was literally 5 of us (two military) and 2 others who walked out at the same time! it was so ridiculous and when we told her she was being rude she just kept repeating "I don't really care" Guys if you don't like your job QUIT!!!!!! From LA to Tehachapi, this place definitely took me by surprise. My boyfriend and I were looking for a place to have a drink or 2 on our mini getaway from the big city and listen to some music. We are open to anything, but the DJ was playing everything, from old school Hip Hop to house music. It was great, we had a good time and the mixed drinks were really good and at a good price. Ps. BE CAREFUL not to go to this bar too late, the bartenders seem to close the bar whenever they want. There was 5 ppl in the bar and the Bartender on duty last night, told my party of 15 she had already cleaned up and we should head over to Savannah's instead. Is anyone else in town aware that Cliff Sauzo, the owner of The Doghouse Saloon in town, records people without their permission and posts video of it? (Not of people trying to steal or cause trouble mind you, but just in general and if he thinks it is juicy). He does this to his own paying customers. He is in a business and treating his customers with blatant disrespect. I do realize this is his property, but also his business and a business does not run without customers. Definitely never going back. He also tried to make a customer, one of my friends, pay for spilling a beer on accident on their newly refurbished tables. It was unspeakably unprofessional. Accidents happen, probably even more so in a bar. You are the owner and should expect this and be ready for it. This incident was also not handled professionally as him and one of his bartenders lost their cool about it and did not seem to know how to handle anything going wrong. First time here for Mt. Festival, Wow. What a great experience !!! Outside there is a Rock stage. Dance floor, beer bars, covered tables, fire pits, taco stand. Inside, there are pool tables, dance floor, Dj and the longest bar I've ever seen. Great atmosphere. Truly one of the best experiences I've ever had. This is a local bar with a big heart! They serve drinks that are legitimate, no short shotting of drinks and no overcharging for drinks you did not have. They are honest! They have three pool tables that are well kept up and level. Out back is a large outdoor patio that has a big fire ring and a campfire going, informal but clean concrete floor under the stars great time. List goes on, go see for yourself. read more

I have partied all over the place so I never would've thought that I would have the time of my life in some bar in Tehachapi but damn. From start to finish it was a great time. The guy at the door was super nice and cracking jokes. The old guys buying us drinks and chatting us up were adorable. The bar tender was awesome. Everyone was nice and friendly. Seems a likely place to get into trouble. Most of the people seem nice, the owner not so much. A bit of a pig with the female patrons and a bit of a bully. His wife also works there I'm told but apparently tolerates his bad behavior. Don't think I'll go back. That being said, met a few nice people there. Maybe there's not many choices in this area. I will NEVER go to this bar again. I've been here twice and both times the bar tenders were extremely rude!! They keep records of receipts and tabs on post it's!!! When we asked for an actual receipt printed from the POS system we were told to leave and never come back followed by unnecessary foul comments from the staff and owner. I really doubt a couple cocktails and three beers is $100 plus. The owner Cliff is extremely unprofessional and doesn't serve customers based on politics, sexuality and races he doesn't like. I understand wanted to have policies on behavior in a bar but to be homophobic, sexist and racist are three strikes in my book. Disgusting customer service and ownership tactics if you ask me. I probably won't be going here again. The service varies wildly depending on who's working. One of the bartenders is really good, the rest are awful. Even when it's not busy I usually have to sit at the bar for ages before they acknowledge that I'm even there. And good luck getting a second drink. Also, the last time I dropped in for a quick drink in the early evening, I decided to put a song on on their jukebox, as no music was playing. There were only a couple customers and a couple employees present. After I paid to play one song (a pretty mellow song too) one of the employees began loudly complaining that someone would put on music and made the bartender go turn the volume down. Correct me if I'm wrong, but why have a jukebox if you're going to be mad when customers put money in it? So after that, I sat at the bar with an empty glass for almost ten minutes while the staff hung out at the other end of the bar ignoring me. Sadly this is one of the few places to go in Tehachapi on a Friday night, so they can pretty much behave however they want and offer terrible service. We drove by our first night there and made a decision not to go in because we didn't think the people that were there would be kind to us "big city" folk but we decided to give them a chance the following night and had a blast. Cool little bar on the main drag in Tehachapi. We stopped in because they are supposed to have great bloody Mary's, and they do! Definitely my favourite bar in town. The bar tenders are always nice, personable and prompt with service. Almost always busy on the weekends, but not in a bad way. Prices are decent, and if you buy a sweater from them you get discounts on Tuesdays which pay for themselves in the long run. read more
