After hearing much talk about Prima Pizzeria including the famous Dave Portnoy's review we finally made it here for lunch. We wanted to keep it simple and only stick to pizza during our first visit. Cheese for me and pepperoni for hubby. The restaurant is busy so no pie seems to be sitting for and extended periods. We ordered the last two cheese and a pepperoni and took a seat. There is plenty of space to accommodate a couple of large groups and counter seating for eat and run patrons. The counter service is welcoming and friendly. Now the main event, our slices were served nice and hot and we got right to it. The crust was a little too soft for me but the sauce and cheese were perfect. We both really enjoyed the pizza and agree that it's definitely one of the better options up here. As we were finishing up they brought out a pie right out of the oven and I had to get another slice. This won me over 100%. Super hot and cheesy with the right amount of sauce with just the right amount of tanginess. Highly recommend Prima Pizzeria. Will be returning to try a hero served on the in house made bread.

I have mixed reviews about this business because their pizza is amazing. It's really good and for the price it's actually quite nice but then you go to their calzones which we got the other day and we spent a pretty significant amount of money on the calzones and the pictures are posted below, but they are tiny compared to other pizza restaurants that we go to and then they give you a little sauce and a tiny cup, and then they didn't even give us the sauce for My Wife had it then go back to the restaurant and ask for the sauce and they gave her a hard time about it like they had already given it to her like she was lying and wanting extra sauce I don't get that you put so little sauce in there to begin with. It's absolutely amazing that you would even doubt Customer that little bit of sauce is not going to change the outcome of your business. It made it so that we are debating whether we will return to that restaurant again. The ambience it's quaint. It's a little pizza joint it's not anything great and wondrous. It's got a few seating soda, fountain or bottled sodas. The people are nice. I can say that we had a nice conversation with the girls behind the counter they were very nice they were very sociable. They were great, but the food was what was questionable when we ordered those calzones again the pizza was delicious but the calzones I would never buy them again. Try them for yourself and see if you have a different experience. I hope you do.

Not impressed. Chef salad is 10 bucks and mostly iceberg lettuce. Not much meat, and one olive. No peppers either. Nikki Ps in Rotterdam is twice as much meat, and a huge slice of Italian bread include

I've been remiss about writing reviews since Covid Pandemic began. DH and I have been stuck in the house since last March only going to restaurants that have outside seating or purchasing take-out! This place offers mostly take-out but does have a few small tables and chairs for the lunch crowd and during covid restrictions they were located out on the sidewalk during warmer weather. This is our go to place for pizza close to where we live. We order and in approximately 30 minutes we pick-up and its still tasty warm and delicious! Plenty of cheese, sauce and lightly browned on the bottom. We order 8 cut round and the lady on the phone is getting to know us! When the weather was warmer we ordered and sat outside at our make shift fire pit in the back yard. A couple of pieces of slate old tire ring and we're ready to go... Saturday Night Pizza Night! So if you live near Prima's stop by and bring a pizza home for dinner!

The pizza is akin to the type of pizza you'd get from a birthday. You can tell when a pizza place uses fresh, high quality ingredients, and Poppies just doesn't. This location has been the home to All In The Family Pizza (moved), Roman's Pizzeria & Deli, and Tasty Pizzeria. I stopped by Poppy's Pizzeria for a quick bite. The place was quite busy with the phone ringing. To make things quick, I got the 2 Pizza Slices with Topping & 20 oz drink for $8 plus tax. I chose a slice of pepperoni and a slice of sausage which were heated up in the oven. There is not much seating inside, but there is ample picnic table seating outside shared with Poppy's Ice Cream. The hot pizza slices were pretty good, which had a thin firm soft and chewy crust topped with the right amount of tomato sauce, meat toppings and melted cheese. I will have to try their calzone on the next visit.

I find this place to be the pinnacle of a successful local pizzeria. The ambiance is also good. Their restaurant section however could use some cleaning on the floor and the food did take a little bit long to arrive, however with their vast menu and busy days I would like to give them another try at the sit-down experience. I am looking for a location that sells a good variety of slices, has sit-down tables which you actually want to sit in (no rocking tables and dirty floors for me), and has friendly staff. We recently came here again while in the area and I rediscovered it. It is definitely the best... bar none. They expanded next door into a location previously used by H&R Block, and the increased dining space is wonderful. The variety of slices they had at lunch is staggering, and not just the usual suspects either. They had eggplant lasagna pizza; chicken Fra Diavolo pizza with hot peppers (yum!); mac & cheese pizza with or without Buffalo chicken; salad pizza; etc. All looked good, and my Fra Diavolo pizza has become my favorite here. Of note: their Hawaiian pizza is a white pizza (no sauce), which is extremely unusual, but they provided a cup of sauce on the side which restored balance to the galaxy. I should point out that every Italian restaurant has their own style of red sauce: some are too acidic, some are too salty, some are too heavy with dried herbs, and some don't use enough. This place has a sauce which is similar to my Grandmas (the best!), and it is salty and acidic and oily and delicious. I could see myself parking in a chair one afternoon with a good book and slowly trying slice after slice. Since we live only about 20 minutes away, I think I will need to make the trek up to here more often.

The businesses are located a couple of blocks from the gateway marking the entrance to Schenectady's Little Italy. So much history, food and romance in this neighborhood. We had Sunday brunch at More Perreca's. The bakery is closed on Sunday but I got a Sausage Lettuce Tomato sandwich served on toasted Perreca's bread. It was so delish. The Italian sausage was served with lettuce, tomato, roasted garlic puree, mayo and side salad. Everything was so fresh. My $11 meal was reasonably priced. The garlic purée was amazing. They need to bottle it. I'd buy some. My friend had the Mac and cheese and an espresso martini. He loved both. Rachelle was our server. She was wonderful. Very helpful. She explained some of the menu to me because there were a number of Italian sausage dishes. The food was prepared quickly which was great because we were hungry. Rachelle came back later to check on us. I gave her a thumbs up and a smile while busily chewing a bite of sandwich. The restaurant is charming with nice tin ceilings and big windows to let the light in. There are many booths which makes it cozy. When we arrived most of the tables were full. Based on the chatter in the room it sounded as though a lot of friends had gathered at the restaurant to literally break bread over brunch. The menu offers a nice variety: from egg breakfasts, assorted salads to Italian classics. It was an all around yummy and enjoyable experience. I let Rachelle know that we'll be coming back.

And very happy the trattoria is located less than three miles away! Take out order was for four Chicken Cutlet Parm Dinners with Ziti for my husband and older grands. We were impressed with the garlic knots (two per dinner) that are included instead of a blah roll. A small salad with tomato and pepperocini is also included with the dinner. All for $17.95! Kudos and compliments to the chef on the quality of the marinara sauce which is pleasantly chunky and flavorful, and it even has bits of fresh basil. It is superior to many sauces made/served in some Italian restaurants. It was so good that I am a little embarrassed to reveal that I ate one small container that was included with a spoon. I put another on top of my slice of broccoli white pizza. A negative in my opinion: there was too much melted mozzarella cheese on top of the dinner. I prefer less mozzarella. However, no one else noticed. I added two slices of broccoli white pizza from the case to my order along with a "broccoli ricotta foldover" for tomorrow. There were many other offerings available in the case if you had not preordered or wanted to pick your own variety of pizza slices, foldovers, or knots. The helpful server offered to heat it in oven, if wanted. The several sweets I saw in the case looked very tempting, but I resisted today. There were even chocolate covered small cannoli, cheesecake, and Italian cookies available! Please check out my photos of the case. We look forward to trying other items on the thoughtful menu such as the pizzas, Stromboli, soup and desserts. We will order again very soon. The owner put my order in my car without me even asking and even with other customers at the counter. He was pleasant and courteous.
