We had a 7pm reservation on a Wednesday night and it was a light crowd which for our party was just perfect. We had a wonderful server, Nicholas who helped steer our table in the right direction given multiple offerings on the menu were of interest. Nothing was rushed and the service was really great. Food had good proportion and the freshness of the pasta dishes you could really taste. we had the gemilli, bucatini and the gnocchi. All very good! The burrata appetizer with the roasted beets was excellent! Only very small issue (for me) was seasoning could have been better. If you're looking for spice or a dish to have kicked up notch, inquire with the server or ask for extra seasonings to be brought out. Other than that, this place was a great choice and highly recommend mid week dinners for what I believe is a more relaxed option than a table turning weekend reservation where part of the experience may be lost. We went to Prezza last night and it was amazing. We started with the meatball appetizer. Wow! Our entrees choices were the halibut and the swordfish. Our new favorites. The purée around the halibut just made the dish amazing. The smokeyness from the wood fire grill in the swordfish was out of this world. The bread pudding dessert is epic! The part that made the night come together was not the amazing wine list, but the knowledge, Ryan our server had of the wine list. He picked the most perfect bottle in the price range we wanted and the flavor profile that went along with our dinner. read more

Came here based on the rave reviews online for a special occasion, and my date and I were disappointed by the experience. The food was good, but not great, and definitely not worth the price. What a fantastic place! The food reminds me of Italy, just as good! I had some spectacular gnocchi (best I've had) and my girlfriend had the raviolini and ricotta ravioli. The waiter was fantastic and brought my girlfriend two dishes for her birthday. The pistachio dessert was also fantastic. This dinner made our trip to Boston. Highly recommend. Stopping in for dollar oysters, my group of 5 came in and were ready to get down for these well cleaned, easy to eat raw oysters. We ended up getting 6 dozen oysters; 3 dozen for the 2 orders on a cool iced plate with cocktail sauce and a cucumber vinaigrette that cleansed our palate. With our beer and heavier food that we had earlier in the day this quick meal really opened our stomach ups and made the rest of the day a little more comfortable and we were amazed that they were cleaned so well besides a few bites with shells but were clean off the shell that they just slide right off into our mouths. The atmosphere is very date like with low lighting and small 2 person tables but for us and the bar top enjoying a soccer game we were ready to party with sports or with oysters. Made a reservation at 4:30 when just they opened, so the place empty. Food was great especially the crispy shrimp. Spaghetti with clam was tasty but wish the pasta was more soft. Fish stew was alittle salty but the seafood was fresh. Creme brulee and tiramisu parfait was delicious, not too sweet. read more

I came here with friends for a dinner and was very impressed! We got the white truffle pasta special which was absolutely delicious but a bit of a splurge at $60 a plate and split the scallops. They divided the scallops to separate plates which was a very nice touch. We ended the meal with complimentary desert and limoncello! read more

We were trying to get a reservation for 2 on a Wednesday but it was a 1.5 hour wait at Carmelina's so a guy in line ahead of us told us to check this place out. Down the street and to the right in a small alley/street. Nice ambiance, not too noisy to chat with others. Our server was so thoughtful and split our apps (octopus and soft shell crab), tuna tartare, and was super attentive. I would highly recommend. I usually go to Giacomo's but this will be in my regulars. read more

I chose Prezza due to numerous recommendations of respected foodies and blogs online. They all touted the romance of the place so I took my wife on a date there. When we walked in, I must admit I was a bit surprised as it felt like an upscale sports bar upon first glance. We laughed at the first impression and began ordering after the attentive server came and promptly took our wine orders and letting us know the specials. She was particularly attentive throughout the meal without being intrusive or overbearing; a particularly fine balance of attributes that I like in servers. We were never left waiting for long periods of time between updates and/or refills of water or wine. She was also extremely pleasant and capable of answering all of our questions about the dishes and wine. Then there was the food... oh my... the food. This is the type of finesse and craft that only generations of Italians are typically capable of in my experience. We decided to share a number of dishes rather than order separately in order to experience the various sections of the menu. From the cold starters we chose the burrata and beet salad. The creaminess of the burrata and the tart of the beets and pistachio vinaigrette were a perfect pair. There were some micro greens on the plate as well but they honestly didn't add much to the dish other than some pop of vibrant green to the white and gold stars of the show. We then chose to do a hot smaller dish of the wood grilled octopus and squid with white beans. I've had this dish from here to Italy and everywhere in between including the Spanish versions at tapas restaurants and in Barcelona. I've had great versions and horrendous versions... and I'll tell you this: this may be the single best execution of wood-fired octopus OR squid I've ever had. Leaving the spice preference out of the equation for the variations I have had the tenderness of the meat was superb and perfect. There was no rubbery texture, no fishy smell, and just felt like it had been treated by a true expert with the Midas Touch. I've thought about this dish multiple times since we left, but I dare not try to recreate it, as I know I would only be overcome with disappointment. You can't go to an Italian place that makes their own pasta and NOT order the pasta. My wife is a snob when it comes to gnocchi, so I humored her to order it and see what all the fuss is about. The gnocchi was perfect and tossed in a luxurious veal stock and tomato sauce giving it a savory twist of a meat sauce without having to worry about the correct tomato-to-meat ratio. It was not overly heavy either which was a surprise as I expected it to have a certain greasiness to it but it was as smooth as silk to the bit and left no real trace of oil or grease afterwards. The dessert menu also looked fantastic, but we had already committed to Mike's Pastry; so we had to save that treat for another night Prezza, but thank you for the fantastic meal. read more

Incredible dining experience in historic north end of Boston. Upscale Italian, great ambiance and not to cramped. The wine list offered great varietals, accurate vintages, and appropriate pricing. We enjoyed a beautiful Barolo. Efrain, our server, was on point throughout evening. I had the filet, perfectly done. We shared a few appetizers (octopus was amazing) and also got to try some of their chestnut ravioli and scallops. Everything was amazing. Let's go with "impressed." There is a lot of Italian in the North End and they're all very good to excellent. Prezza is definitely up there with a changing menu and housemade pasta. They don't have a list of specials because the menu is printed that day. Awesome to know that everything's fresh. Bread at the table with a tasty olive oil while we looked over the menu. My eye was caught by the tagliatelle with clams. I was expecting something similar to "linguine with white clam sauce" and that wasn't this. Instead, a large bowl of very fresh pasta arrived shortly after ordering (the waiter explained that their pasta is made in house, so it doesn't take long to boil) with a dozen or so split clams. Interesting presentation! It was tasty and the garlic flavor was very apparent. I somehow managed to avoid wearing any of it and that's a good thing. Excellent service and a great meal. If you are looking for a place for dinner keep walking. We had reservations. Arrived on time. Seated then totally ignored. Waiters etc walked by our table many many times and acted as were invisible. We tried to flag down anyone only to have the waiters not even make eye contact. After waiting 20 minutes for even some water we walked out. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! There are plenty of super friendly Italian restaurants in Boston. This one is not. read more

A decent italian restaurant in Boston, but the flavors were more on the "ok" side compared to other locations. Still, the ambiance was nice, but the service was a bit lacking; I had to get up and ask for things several times, even thought the server stand was literally next to us. We were also seated at the far back near the kitchen entrance while there were other tables open; the restaurant didn't appear to be observing distancing protocols so I'm not sure what that was all about. I doubt I'll return. I didn't feel very comfortable or welcomed. read more

We stopped in here to see if we could get a table. The hostess basically laughed at us for even considering it. It was loud and crowded. The atmosphere was not at all Italian and we were told we could wait "if we wanted" for a seat at the bar but that there were a line of people waiting for this. It didn't look comfortable. Really awesome, authentic Italian. Great atmosphere, friendly service, and a nice full bar with lots of room for seating. I had the Branzino and it was fantastic. My brother had the Gnocchi Bolognese and said that he really enjoyed it. For drinks, I recommend the rosemary Paloma or the Pear Martini (my brother's girlfriend had it) both really hit the spot! We had a great first visit here the other night. Lets start with the vibe and setting. The tables are well-spaced and the ambiance is really nice for a quiet dinner. It would be great for a group too but on a Tuesday, it was relatively quiet which is what we were looking for. The service was excellent with good advice and attention to details. We had the tuna tartare and the scallop crudo to start. The tartare is HUGE and definitely shareable. It was really nice tuna with just a few crisps to add some texture. The scallop crudo was bigger than your typical crudo and had a really nice blend of textures and flavors. For mains, we had the scallops and halibut which were both excellent. The halibut had just a schmear of butternut squash and a nice, but modest, portion of brussel sprouts. If you order this expecting much more than the fish, you should get a side. We didnt need to do that and with a starter, were definitely full by the end. The cocktail list is EXCELLENT and the Cinghiale was a nice twist on a manhattan with the smoke of scotch instead of bourbon. The wine menus is extensive and the choices by the glass are great. We went albarino and rosso di montalcino which were both terrific. We couldnt stay for dessert but there were definitely interesting choices and a great bourbon list (and other things too) with probably 40-50 to choose from just for the bourbons. We really enjoyed our dinner which had to be quick and will be back! read more

I had the fish stew with lobster, tuna, shrimp, squids, clams, mussels. Perfect soup base - flavorful without being salty, allowing the fresh seafood natural flavors to come through. There was a piece of toasted bread with some cream sauce I didn't care for. Just plain garlic butter bread would have been better. The service was excellent especially I was dining alone (often neglected). The older waiter was super sweet. Highly recommend this dining experience! read more

Nearly as wonderful as the last time I couldn't convince anyone to order the Ravioli d' Uovo so I got one for the table. It was everyone's favorite dish! Don't miss it. The Bronzino was delicious and enormous. We loved the Crispy Shrimp it's actually portion enough for a small entree. Finally, two of us had the rabbit pasta and while it was delicious the amount of rabbit, about 2 ounces in each dish was rather comical. Service was amazing! read more
