Decided to treat myself and hubby to a manicure while we wait for our dinner from the pizza place next door. I told the lady that I had a split nail with a little nail glue and clear polish on the one hand only. She didn't even bother removing the polish. I sat there for about 5 minutes waiting for a person to start my mani while my hubby had his going. I was done before him. Worst mani ever. My cuticle weren't cleaned up/rounded. Not quite sure what she did other than cute my nails. I probably should have said something while we were still there but wasn't worth it. Just won't go back. read more

I've been to this salon a few times, never for anything fancy, just for the basics. In the past they've done an OK job, nothing worth writing about but not bad, but today ranks in my bottom 2 nail salon experiences in California. Now I know why there's never a wait! This nail salon is clean and very nice inside with great pedi chairs and the people are friendly, but today my gel manicure was terrible! It began with my manicurist using the electric file to file the gel off my nails and filed them so paperthin that she took a chunk out of one. She saw it and was going to ignore it. I had to ask her to file the nail so there would not be a chunk out if it and get snagged on stuff. I brought in my own stickers and showed a few of the manicurists a design that I wanted on 2 nails and was told that they could do it (which was why i chose the colors that I did for those 2 nails) but after painting my nails and putting on the stickers she said the design was too "fancy." So I left with only stickers, 8 bubbles in my polish, and pieces of nail and cotton hanging off the bottoms of my nails which I'll have to fix myself. I'm just amazed at how bad this manicure was and no effort was made to even try to make it look nice. Save your $ and go somewhere else if you want a bubble-less gel mani or any type of designs. I got a basic mani pedi yesterday. The pedi is good but the mani went poorly. I asked for no shorter, just shape, rounded not square and she shaped square and had to reshape. She took my nails so short my fingers hurt and I can barely use my fingers without pain. I had to ask her to stop filing. My nails are literally shorter than the tips of my fingers. All of them. I love supporting this local business run by such kind women! If you come in between Mon-Thurs, you get 10% off your total! If you spend more than $50 you get a free lip wax. Without the discounts, Prestige Nails still has some of the best prices in town; services are high quality and affordable. For reference, an acrylic gel fill is around $35, a pedicure (which includes a hot stone massage) is $23, and the callous treatment is an extra $5. I've been here three times now. The first time I came in with the worst set of acrylics I've ever had in my life from Sirius Nails. They were uneven, the polish was clumpy, and several nails were popping off. Fawn was the technician who worked on my nails and she essentially had to start from the ground up and redo every nail. She spent so much time and effort to make things right. I never felt like I was rushed. She paid attention to detail and made sure each nail was filed and shaped correctly and equally. I've never had such a thorough nail appointment before! I was amazed! First time here and got dipping powder. Had to wait 30 minutes before being helped which was expected since I didn't have an appointment. I paid $47! So expensive! And to top it off, it didn't even last a week before my nails chipped! I have always gotten dipping powder and they never chip, just grow out! read more

I was really hoping to love this place since it's so close to my place, but it was sadly mediocre. I wanted a design on my big toe which is pretty standard, but it looks so terrible I'm probably going to do it myself so I can wear sandals and not have to hide it! The physical shop is nice. They only had a few people working on a Sunday which seemed insufficient for a weekend. The chairs were nice and everything looked clean. The woman who did my nails could have spent some more time cleaning up my calluses (I paid extra) and the toes but it was sufficient. The pedicure was fine but the design is just kind of sad. I went there today without an appointment and it was no problem. I got there very quickly, which was great.The salon makes a very clean impression. However, I was disappointed. I just wanted a simple manicure without polish / lacquer or something. I am not really satisfied with the result. The excess cuticle was removed very well, but my nails were not brought into shape at all! At checkout then the shock! 22$ - no polish or similar. I was told that the basic manicure costs $17. In addition, I was then charged for polishing the nails (with a file) 5$. It was not made aware to me as a customer that the polishing is not included in the price. I came in an hour before closing and they weren't busy, they took walk ins which was great! I got a gel manicure and I was not impressed for $32. It was done the best, she kept telling me How short my nails were, she didn't trim most of my hang nails and the polish could of used another coat or two to build up pigment. The color didn't come out as the color I picked so that was disappointing. The shop was nice and clean so that was nice and there was barriers for Covid so also appreciated that. read more

Such a disappointment and frustration. I've been going there for nearly 17 years. I was a frequent customer to get my eyebrows done pre-pandemic. The service started to go down with a change of management and new employees around 2018/2019. Then it picked back up just as I was about to find a new place. Today was my first time back since pre-pandemic. It was a complete failure. I repeatedly told the woman not to make my eyebrows too thin, so she made them too short. They end way too high, so they look like part is missing. It's not like I can put them back on. I'm presenting at a conference this week. Wonderful. I told the woman doing my French manicure at least four times that I wanted rounded nails. I now have square. They're also so short the French looks weird because the tips of my fingers are completely visible when I hold up my hands. She pretty much clipped or filed off everything. Once she'd done two nails, there was no going back. While I was there, another woman had to repeatedly explain what she wanted for her acrylics and even showed her manicurist photos. This customer's mother also got her nails done and expressed disappointment that it wasn't done the way she asked. It was bad enough that they gave the older woman a discount. I should have complained too. The only upside is that my nails are now so short, it'll be at least six weeks before I need them doing again. It's as close to a discount as I'll get. I will not go back. There are better places in Oceanside. read more

Although I had a great pedicure, I have a very difficult time recommending this nail salon. I had a gift card that was purchased by my mom for my birthday and they would not allow me to use the gift card, mind you it is California law that gift cards cannot expire. So even though I was going to enjoy a birthday gift, the salon made me pay for the manicure pedicure even though I had a $50 gift card. I have been going here for a while for dip and pedicures. After today, I will be looking for a new nail salon. I always upgrade my pedicure to include callus removal, sugar scrub, and 10 minutes hot stone massage. Today, after waiting 20 minutes, I was charged the upgraded price but did not receive callus removal, the massage was 2 minutes at best, while the technician texted with one hand and half massaged with the other, and no hot towels at the end of brief massage. No top coat and my shoes were put on immediately after, smudging my polish, and I was asked for a tip before I paid. People that were already seated and receiving pedicures while i waited, were still receiving massage/polish, while i was done in under 30 minutes. Total rip-off. read more

I haven't gotten my nails done in a salon in about 10 years since I started doing them myself. We'll, I'm getting married next weekend and I want my nails to look great so I figured this was the perfect time to get them professionally done again. I thought about going tomorrow after work but then remembered all the traffic I'll have to deal with and decided to go in tonight instead. Not knowing their hours, I walked in at about 10 minutes to 7pm and asked what time they closed. A nice lady greeted me and invited me to have a seat and not worry about them closing. I felt guilty for keeping them late but they were all so friendly and inviting about it that I stayed. I chose a nice glittery light gold color and they came out absolutely beautiful! She took her time and paid attention to detail. It wasn't rushed at all. So happy I went here tonight. They only accept cash for tips. They also have an ATM machine inside just in case you forget to bring some cash. read more

I've been to this nail salon and my first time was great a little pricey but I was willing to pay for the service which I believe was the European manicure or #2 and it came with a 10 minute massage and paraffin wax which was all excellent, so 2 weeks later I went again and it was good I did the same thing with a different lady. The next time I went I got the same gel manicure but this time I was not offered the "better" package.. the vibe from the minute I walked in was weird I felt like the lady didn't want to help me and she was trying to hurry up to help the next customer.. I also asked if she can cut my nails since they grow fast personally I don't like long nails and she didn't listening and just filed!! You should always listen to your customer especially if I'm paying you. if I'm paying for a service I deserve the time as well. My daughter and I thought the salon was clean, and the workers were nice. However, I paid $168 total, and this is what our dip looked like not even a week after we had them done. The dip was not applied back to the cuticle. For that kind of money, they should last longer than a week. One of my daughter's dipped nails came completely off. read more

I wish there were zero stars, it was like amateur hour in there today. I went in to get a manicure and my nails dipped again. The guy seemed hesitant to do the design I wanted so I asked for him just to take the dip off and give me a manicure. My sister and niece where there to get polish changes and while there were only two other customers in there, the employees acted like they didn't know who was doing what and could not make up their mind on who was providing their services. a lady came over to finish my nails. 3 times, the drill was too hot and burnt three different nails. I know these things happen but I told her to stop and I would pay for what they did so far. I would not recommend anyone to visit this place. It was my first and last time visiting... :( read more

DON'T DO IT!! DON'T GO IN THERE!! I would give ZERO stars if I could. I went in last Friday for full set and callus pedicure. The lady took my feet out of the water patted them dry and put them in a plastic bag. I was on the phone making a work call so I didn't say anything right away. She was going back and forth anyway. But she didn't do the callus stuff or rubbed it it off with that thing they use to rub off the skin. I know this because: 1. I saw nothing put on my feet for callus 2. I would have been dying on my chair from laughter as I always do when they rub my feet as they take it off. Long story short I mentioned it and she threw my foot ....... yes she physically threw my foot that was on her hand. When I said woah there did you just throw my foot? (Weird thing to ever have to say) She realized she fucked up and said sorry right away. I mentioned that she may have forgotten as we are human and it happens or she thought I wasn't paying attention and trying to save product what ever the reason. She became super defensive then her back up the man who works there too came and both are yelling at me that they are professionals and they know what they are doing and that I'm not paying attention cause I was on the phone. I not was rude when I told her because how awkward to tell the "professionals" they missed a step. My five year old was actually also there which really also upset me that she had to see these two individuals act like that. They tried charging me full price I was like NOPE. I told him you're lucky I'm even paying partial after being mistreated and yelled at. Oh yeah I forgot he did my nails and he was so rough and it's been two days and they have already lifted from the sides. I've been to a few of these locations and every time I go the language barrier makes it difficult to convey my preferences. I just asked for a glitter polish so it could be see through but yet again they paint a base coat of something nude so the glitter isn't see through. I didn't ask for a nude base coat and I even told her I wanted something see through but she didn't understand my request and started painting my nails nude. Why is it so difficult to just paint glitter polish on bare nails. I've got it done right once before so it shouldn't be that difficult to get what I ask for. read more

Update: Had to remove old set and had another technician do it. It was painful, she clipped the ends and ripped them off with another nail tip. It was horrific and then I ended with nails I hate, thick and uneven. Plus, she wanted a tip despite all that. I recommend asking for Jenny if you want to visit this place. I don't usually leave bad reviews, in fact I don't think I ever have left a bad review on yelp but I got my nails done this weekend and after 1 day the polish started to change from purple to yellow and it looks disgusting. I paid extra for gel on my nails too and It turned yellow! My pointer finger on my left hand the nail isn't even flat it's lumpy, I tried to take a good photo of it but it's hard. Not only did the polish turn yellow but my thumbs are completely shaped differently, you might be able to tell in the photo my right hand is squared more and the left is curved. Plus the uv light burned my fingers which is why I think maybe it also turned yellow, she kept getting mad when I removed my hands but it was burning my hands. No shaping or filing After reviewing our cost of $98 + tips I decided to call the shop and state i would like them to look at them. What is the problem they asked. I explained my cuticles were not touched she said "it's growth." I said,"I was in in the afternoon of yesterday". She said to come in. I tried getting a time but they resisted. So I arrived at two figuring lunch appts would be done. The rest is bad customer relation, Worse than the day before. I was shuffled from outside but watched several "walkins" enter. I made myself in and seated. As I was directed to a chair nearest the counter and explained what I felt was the problem. No instruments were used except an oversized clipper squared w/no file for shaping. Worse than that the woman in the rosebud face mask (she never gave her name) decided she wasn't talking to me. No greeting, questions. I asked her "...are you not speaking to me?" No response so she had probably guessed we wouldn't be back,but's she had forgotten that we would tell our experience w/ anyone who will listen! In reading some reviews I read that if you came in Mon-Thurs. you got 10% off---or if you spent 100 dollars you were offered anotherincentive. Neither were explained to us! Shame on you! read more

My manicure took longer than the full set my daughter got because she missed several steps, as soon as another customer walked in the lady rushes with the full set to take care of the other customer. She didn't put enough coats and her nails have little bubbles. When I walked in the lady asked if also wanted a pedicure I said not at this time because I had just gotten a pedicure not even a week ago and still look good. She kept adjusting her glasses looking at my feet and told me that they weren't looking good anymore. That was pretty annoying. Only to try and get more money out of me.
