I truly am so saddened, yesterday came in for a pedicure was so excited because I am 6.5m pregnant with a toddler, this was supposed to be such a treat, mind you my toenails were in perfect condition just neglected/grown out * Johnnie did my pedicure and cut my big toenail SO poorly down the side at a 45 degree angle (someone who has a history of ingrown toenails worst nightmare) it's been 24 hours now and it is still bloody/swollen/red every time I move my toe let along walk it is painful. Being 6.5m pregnant with a toddler this is the LAST thing I needed I am devastated and will likely have to make an appointment with a podiatrist because it is so bad and painful. I have been searching for a truly good nail salon for what feels like forever, and I can finally say... I found it. What keeps me coming back is the consistency. I've been here several times now, and every experience has been genuinely great, which is honestly rare in the nail salon world. I really wanted to like this salon because everyone was kind when I arrived, but unfortunately my experience went downhill as the appointment progressed. Johnnie cut my cuticles far too deeply, causing multiple fingers to bleed. It was painful, but I stayed quiet and hoped the rest of the appointment would go more smoothly. I requested almond-shaped acrylic nails, but one thumbnail ended up much shorter than the rest, lopsided, and square instead of almond-shaped. Even the woman sitting next to me commented that it looked different. When I pointed it out, Johnnie seemed annoyed and instead of fixing the one nail, he filed my other thumbnail down to match it. I told him twice that I didn't like what he was doing, but he kept filing until both thumbnails were short, stubby, and square. The manager, Chloe, came over and said the only solution was to remove the acrylic and apply new tips. During the removal, Johnnie used the e-file so aggressively that both of my nail beds were burning and had to be soaked in acetone for relief. I was visibly upset but just wanted the appointment to be over. To make matters worse, the finger he cut has been swollen ever since my appointment. When I checked out, I expected at least an apology or some type of discount after everything that happened. Instead, I was charged the full $65, plus the 3% credit card fee for using Apple Pay. Mistakes happen, but how they're handled matters. I left with bleeding fingers, a swollen finger, burned nail beds, and nails that had to be redone because of avoidable mistakes--all while paying full price. It had been 2 months too long that i had neglected myself in terms of self-care. So I decided to finally get a mani / pedi from a local salon called Art Nails & Spa. Art Nails & Spa is a local nail salon that offers manicures , pedicures and waxing. They are located in the Plaza Del Oro Shopping Center that is just south of the 76 Hwy, off of Frazee Rd. Also in this plaza is a 24 HR Fitness & a CVS. Although Art Nails & Spa does accept Walk-ins, for the best service and the least waiting time, it is highly recommended that you Call-in and make a scheduled appointment. There are times when they only have 1 or 2 clients and times when it is entirely packed. Another nice feature that they have is a rewards program. Simply check-in at the counter with your phone number and they log your visit with points. Earn points and over time, you can get Free services. Their interior is organized and clean. I love that they have tvs playing satisfying "foodie channels" playing soothing music for entertainment. But just like any salon, the customer service is friendly, inviting, caring & warm. Make your appointment, have a seat, select a service plan, enjoy a beverage (cocktails & coffee available) and be treated to a delightful time, by staff that caters to your needs. I chose a service that included a foot soak, leg massage, massage chair rubdown, sugar scrub, collagen foot mask, filing, trimming, adjusting, painting and of course, adding gel. This package also included a citrus rub, sea salt exfoliation, hot stones rub and a drink of my choice of an alcohol beverage. I've never been disappointed here and the level of care surpasses that of other salons I have been to and what I most appreciate is the communication they have with their clients. They are always double-checking to make sure they give you exactly what you want and more importantly, they are gentle in the process and never forceful. Absolute fantastic service from start to finish! First, I made an appointment ahead of time over the phone with their front desk manager. Super easy to do ahead of time. As soon as I checked in with them for my appointment day of, I was seated with the nail technician and we went over what I was looking for. They are great at communicating and making sure clients are comfortable with their process. I came in for just a gel manicure with a base layer of dip and they accommodated me perfectly. The way they removed my previous gel/dip base, shaped my nails, took care of my cuticles, prepped my nails for dip and for gel, and doing designs was just exceptional. I've honestly never been to another nail salon that has been able to hit every one of those marks that I have been used to at a nail salon I grew up with. Not only was the process and service fantastic but the results were perfect too! My nail technician was able to match the exact design from a picture I brought in, and she was still able to follow my vision for it (different colors than shown in the photo). Review on business practice: Art Nails is now under new management since the last time I went a few years back. I'm an out of stater who visits every now and then and have visited twice within the last year. The space is still clean, staff is still friendly, the color variety is also great. The ONLY thing or complaint that I have is that they prefer cash and if you use a credit card, or even ApplePay, they are a bit eh about it. In fact, the first time I went with the new management, when I paid they asked if I had cash bc they "only take cash". I pointed towards their computer/machine and mentioned that those usually take card and Apple Pay and that there was no sign or notice posted that they didn't take card. Since that visit, I was skeptical to return. I went back though! This time, I was allowed to pay with ApplePay, but they told me since it was card, I'd have to incur an additional fee for card use. Looks like that is improper business practice. As of 2024, businesses can't present consumers with new hidden fees on top of what was advertised in the purchasing price. Not sure how I feel about this or the business anymore. I'm willing to carry cash, but would like to warn fellow cardholders read more

Wow! If I could give 6 stars, I would! I really needed some self care and dropped by as a walk-in for a mani/pedi. While checking in, I noticed how beautiful the woman working at the desk's full set was, and asked if they might be able to do a full set instead of mani. She said, "absolutely no problem!" even though they were busy with at least 10 other clients already in the salon, and Angel started on my gel pedi first. I realized later that they had called in another nail artist, Holly, on her day off to do my full set for me I will be asking for Holly and Angel every time I make an appt from now on! I pulled up an inspiration photo for the full set and wasn't sure if they'd be able to match it but... WOW. It looks EXACTLY like I wanted, and I think even better than the inspo! Everyone in the salon is great at communicating and a pleasure to talk to. Holly was meticulous, obviously very skilled in her craft, and did an incredible job on the full set, making sure every nail was perfectly straight and even, and shaped exactly how I wanted it. I asked her to only file my natural nails minimally to reduce damage as I always do, and she did a great job of listening and not being too hard on my natural nail which is important to me. After she was done I looked at my nails and realized -- hands down, that was the BEST mani/pedi experience and full set of acrylics I have ever had in my life! I'm 37, and I've had my nails done in acrylics since I was 15, so I've had this done many, many times before. I can't wait to bring in my sister and niece. Also, after I left I jammed my nail on the gate a couple times by accident when walking my big dog, and the acrylics are SOLID. Not going to break anytime soon, and not even a chip from that! Angel did my pedicure and massage so well I almost fell asleep I was so relaxed, and every single nail is perfectly even. I have teeny tiny toes and it is kind of hard to do a pedicure on me, but she didn't cut them too short and made even my feet look good! The salon is spotlessly clean, beautifully laid out and relaxing with calm music and tv, and everyone working there was so kind and nice to talk to. They have sooo many color and design options. I can't wait to bring in more inspo! The girl next to me got sparkles with snowmen and snowflakes and they looked so good!! Each artist here is super talented and creative. So first of all, this is my first time at the salon and they were absolutely amazing. Chloe, which was in the front, she was ringing me out. I believe she was the owner. She was incredible, very personal, very friendly, very inviting. Now as far as my nails, they are beautiful, very detailed, very very, very, very satisfied. I will definitely be coming back. The nail tech that did my nails are, Pam who did my acrylic nails and Angel who did my pedicure and let me tell you they are gorgeous and I just know I'm going to get a ton of compliments on them. I came to this salon expecting a good experience based on the reviews, but unfortunately that didn't happen for me. It was my first time going to a salon in over 5 years and I was reminded why I don't go to nail salons. I came in as a walk-in for a regular basic pedicure. First, the lady did not use a new drill bit for the electric file. It was obviously used already. I also mentioned that at least 3 times that I wanted a classic regular pedicure, but the lady doing the pedicure did gel. I told it to two of the workers that I wanted a regular pedicure, not gel. I specifically said "not gel" as well. I didn't realize until she was already curing the polish and was frustrated but didn't say anything which was my mistake. I am just frustrated with salons pushing the more expensive option on customers. The lady also kept bumping the nail lamp on my nails, affecting the gel and cured them with dents. After the service was done, instead of $46 the lady said it was $51. I tipped because I know how it is working in customer service and paid $60 for a basic messed up pedicure. I'd give that 1 star because the polish was messy and thick, the practice was unsanitary, my nails were cut too short without asking, and my skin was pinched multiple times, but the spa is beautiful and all of the other ladies seemed very nice.
