I had scheduled an appointment for 5:25pm with the older lady who wears glasses. Upon arrival, she immediately made a rude comment, saying that now she would "have to stay longer," which already made me feel unwelcome. Despite having a scheduled appointment, we ended up sitting and waiting for about 25 minutes. To make things worse, another customer walked in and was told they were next, as if my appointment and wait time didn't matter. At that point, we felt completely disregarded and decided to leave. It was my first time trying this place as it's close to my home. I usually go somewhere else. Now I see why I need to stick to my original. I'm in my car crying at how my eyebrows will look for Christmas and New Years. My right eyebrow has no hair and my eyebrows are thick. I told her she cut my hair and she goes I guess sorry. This place was so clean, affordable , and fast! I was in Oceanside for a little vacation with my boyfriend and his family and i have been in need of a eyebrow wax or threading. Reno is a bit over priced with threading and usually charges about $12 + tip . Here I paid $8 + $5 extra for tip which is a lot better than what I pay at home. When I got here, the lady checked me right in and the whole threading was about 5 minute, which is pretty impressive! The lady also gave me tips about shaping my eyebrows and wearing waterproof make up when getting threaded. Overall , I was very pleased with this place and wish Reno had more of these pop up eyebrow shops that didn't charge so much, let alone a very clean and calming place. read more

I found this hidden gem threading salon about a year ago. The salon is beautiful and immaculate! Very clean and sanitary. I have been an esthetician for 5 years. I have extremely high sanitation, cleanliness and customer service standards. Silk Threading never disappoints! I see Mirna at the Oceanside location. She is not only the best threading artist I have been to she is the most lovely, kind woman too! She always can get me in when I come to town. My brows have not look better in my lifetime. My daughter just went to this place for servicing. The only worker there (Ana) refused to provide my daughter with services. Ana told my daughter, "I will not work on you." Both of my daughters have been coming to this place for several years and have never disrespected anyone. This is unbelievable!!! I don't know the names of the ladies who work here but the past few times I've been here, a nice older lady with glasses has always done my eyebrows and she does a really good job and takes her time. Today when I went in, it was just the older lady and she was threading someone and there was someone waiting ahead of me. While I'm waiting I see a younger girl with medium blonde curly-ish hair walk in and started talking with the older lady. She calls the girl ahead of me since she's next and she says "oh I'm waiting for her" and points to the older lady. She calls me next and I decide to go. HUGE mistake!! I knew me being unable to find the place from the beginning was a sign I shouldn't have come here. So I found this place on yelp since it was the closest threading salon to our house. I drove around the plaza and was unable to find it at first, so I called. The lady who answered the phone sounded like she hardly spoke any English. Her name's Gina. She handed the phone to someone else that worked there and she was able to tell me where they were located. I went inside and there was no one else waiting, but both of the ladies working were already working on someone. So I waited less than 5 minutes. I requested to have my brows done by the lady with blonde hair, but instead Gina took me. Whatever, I was somewhat in a rush and didn't know how long I would have to wait. So I went and got my brows done. As she was threading, I immediately felt like something was wrong. She spent FOREVER on my right brow and barely touched my left. When she was done she handed me the mirror, and I tried not to lose my shit. FIRST, I asked her why my right brow was super short. She takes a look at it for a while, touches it, then looks at the other side. Pretty sure she noticed the difference at that point. And she says "I didn't touch that." Then I pointed at the top corner of the same eyebrow (where the brows separate) and asked her why she took hair off there because now it's semi slanted compared to the other. She takes a look at both of them and noticed the difference and ONCE AGAIN, says "I didn't touch that." BITCH, you spent forever on my right brow! So what the hell did you touch then?!?! I didn't say all that though cause I really was trying not to lose my shit. I had my kids with me and 2 people were waiting then so I didn't want to make a scene. But she told me to lay back again so she can fix it and I told her "No, I don't want you to touch it. You already messed it up enough." Pretty sure everyone heard me say that cause everyone was looking at me. Yes, I still paid to get them done. I shouldn't have. But forsure I'll never be returning. I understand it's difficult to make someone's eyebrows "perfect" but to not be able to take responsibility for your fuck up? That's what really set me off. I was very explicit that I did not want them to thin my brows at all, just barely clean them up. When she finished and showed me the mirror I was shocked to see my right brow is stick thin, and also significantly thinner than my right! My brows are asymmetrical now and the right one is sooo thin it looks horrible! Also I usually get my upper lip done but have never had it hurt so bad as it did here! I had to ask her to take multiple breaks. And when I asked her for more witch hazel at the end for my burning upper lip she said they usually don't give more but she begrudgingly put a little extra on. Pleased with the results! She shaped my brows and took away all the stray hairs. They ended up very symmetrical. The only concern I have is that she put on tinted brow gel right after, which made my brow area very red and inflamed. I had to take it all off and put aloe on my brows to calm it down. If you have sensitive skin, I recommend asking them not to put on the gel directly after they do the threading. read more

DON'T GO HERE! I wish I could give no stars, I honestly do. I have been growing out my eyebrows for probably around 6 months now and went in for a clean up and she did a total hack job on my eyebrows. I specifically asked her to keep them thick and she went against what I asked her to do and gave me a 90s shape. I am ridiculously upset and didn't have the heart to complain to her about what she had just did in front of a customer that had just walked in, nor did I want to start crying. There's honestly nothing I can do besides not go there again and watch tutorials on how to fill in super thin brows til mine grow back again. I usually go to Kaya threading, but I figured this one was way closer to my house, so what's the harm in trying somewhere new? A LOT OF DAMAGE CAN BE DONE. Don't go here. Seriously. THE OTHER PICTURES OF THE BROWS ON HERE FOOLED ME. They were modern and thick in the pictures so I figured they would keep mine thick too but mine barely have hair now. They have an arch, yes, but my brow hair is gone. All I wanted was a little confidence booster and I walked out embarrassed and very upset. To the lady who ignored how I wanted MY eyebrows to look; shame on you for not listening to what a customer asks you to do, especially when it's on their face and not yours.
