I used to love this place! But my last three visits it only got worse. 1st strike- brow tint was black and blocky. I previously had a great brow tint done here so I was sad but still had hope it was just a one time thing. 2nd strike- I came in and an older lady made the girl ahead of me CRY real tears and had zero compassion that she messed her brows up bad. I went and added to the check in list that I wanted the other station # to do mine after seeing that. 3rd strike- I came back and the older lady who made the girl cry was there with a very young girl. I am always kind + tip but I felt a bad vibe from her again as soon as I walked in. The younger girl did my eyebrows horribly. They were so thin and she took a huge chunk off the start of my right brow. I was so sad I haven't got them done since 3/10/25 because I've had to grow them back out. I came here once, and was pretty satisfied with my brows. came back today and the lady who help me the first time wasn't available so someone else was there and I figured why not .. But let me tell you, I have never left a salon crying because of bad eyebrows, until now. I've had to grow my eyebrows out numerous times... I came in explaining the look I wanted and even showed a photo. Thick, natural looking brows with a small lift. I. Showed. A. Photo! Long story short, I left this place in tears. Literally! What took years for my brows to grow will now take even longer. What's even worse?! I have family photos in 3 days and thanks to this place I look hideous. My brows are in the worse shape they have ever been in. They're pencil thin, have no natural arch shape (like the look I came in for), and look completely boxy.... and they aren't even! New guy employee took off a chunk of my eyebrows and thinned out my brows so thin. He decided to outline the shape of my old permanent makeup that faded out. Now my brows is missing the front hairs and does not correlate even with my eyes. I now only have 2 strands of hair left in that chunk of hair he threaded off. The lady who I'm assuming is the manager or owner panicked and said she should have never left him alone for a long time. I asked if he had license or any kind of certification training to show proof he's is supposed to even be working there. The lady responded we don't need any license/certified to do this work. This place used to be good, and it has gone so downhill. I don't think they are training people anymore. The most recent experience and final straw was today when the "technician" completely butchered my eyebrows, making them both short and one lower than the other when she should have never touched the tops to begin with. I specifically told her to just clean up around them and she said she understood. The other woman working said that nothing can be done to fix them but that I wouldn't have to pay. I would just need to come back when they grew back so she could "fix" them. This is probably the worst service I've ever received. If you don't want to wait for your eyebrows to grow back to look normal, save yourself and don't go here. Their staff has such a high turnover, you never know who you are going to get. read more

It's frustrating when you look up their hours and it shows they're open until 7pm and you arrive at 6:40pm to get refused the service. Sign on the door says open. Maybe turn off the open sign and adjust hours to reflect accurately. read more

I've been coming here for a few years now and honestly the service has tremendously declined. I just get my eyebrows threaded and I feel like they rush it (even when no one is there) and always miss a significant amount of hairs. Also, when I went in recently I noticed a newer older lady and she was not being treated kindly by one of the normal staff members. I could tell she was in the process of being trained and the normal staff members was getting visibly upset at her because she did not know how to use the card reader. She kept grabbing her hands and getting frustrated when she didn't input the information right. I told her it was okay and to take her time and the new lady kept saying sorry. There was no one else there so I don't understand the rush. I don't think it's ever okay to put your hands on another person! This place is just shady. read more

I asked to get full face threaded and the lady who was working on it finished pretty quickly and I asked her if she was going to do my chin she said that's an addtl charge which is fine but I told her in all the years I've come here I have never been charged an addtl price for that because full face usually includes your chin. She started to ask me to tell her the name of the individuals that did not charge me and I said I don't know this is bullshit in which she responded I will not let you talk to me like that and I didn't want to argue and I asked her if she was going to finish up and she said no she acted like I hit her she said she has the right to refuse service. So I walked out I refuse to pay for a service I didn't receive. I am always kind and reasonably fair to everyone but when you are paying for a service you have the right to politely ask questions. After work tonight, I went to go get my eyebrows done for the first time in months with my 4 year old son in tow. I just picked him up from preschool and we were all set to head to dinner afterwards. The Eyebrow Artist was done really quickly and then I handed her my bank card for payment and it was declined twice. I apologized profusely and it was a small salon I excused myself to the side extremely embarrassed to make a call to my bank (who normally has amazing customer service.)only to get transferred around. Then, finally excusing myself outside with the promise to return and frustrated only to find out my bank had a known card issue for a good portion of the day. I came back inside, to explain. Only to find out a Good Samaritan (the lady that was in the chair getting her eyebrows done in the chair while I was on the phone) had paid my tab. I started to immediately tear up at the unexpected generosity of a stranger. Sometimes in our lives we don't know in that moment why a difficulty is transpiring. But there are good people out there and angels who walk among us. I'm not one to normally write negative reviews but I felt as though this one needed to be written. First off, the one woman working would not wear a mask while threading brows. She would wear it all the way below her mouth, I guess so she could keep the string attached in her mouth, but there is no excuse in times like now to be running a business if you can not keep your mask on properly while working inches away from someone else's face. Secondly, she threaded my brows so uneven. She excessively thinned my right brow out while making the left look completely lopsided. No question asked just threads away... good luck not looking like you just jumped out of the year 2000. I wasn't near my other threading studio bc I took the day off on Friday but I really needed to go somewhere to get my eyebrows done. I hate it when they look like fuzzy caterpillars. I was on my way to LA on Friday so I was looking for something on the way so I stopped by Oceanside. It's really close to the freeway which is great and near plenty of shops. When I walked in, I signed in and sat down with a bunch of people waiting. I was surprised only one person was working. I believe the other girl was taking a break. I only waited for 10 minutes though. Everyone else was waiting for the other girl apparently which surpised me why she took me ahead of everyone. The place was packed! I just needed a clean up and she did a great job. It's a good place to go but they do need more workers. I'd like to come back if I find myself in that area. The prices are great. Came here yesterday after learning that Astha had moved from the Rosemead Kaya to the new Kaya in Oceanside. I always had to wait till a weekend I was visiting my family in LA (SGV) to get my eyebrows threaded. Since Kaya opened a store in Oceanside (and not to mention Astha is the one doing all the threading), I'm a happy camper! I live in Carlsbad and am taking classes at MiraCosta, so the location is super convenient for me! Win! Speaking of location, the store is kind of hidden, located right next to Great Clips. Easy to miss if you're not familiar with the layout of the plaza or if you're not specifically looking for this store. As usual, Astha was friendly and shaped my brows just the way I like them (Not too thin and perfectly arched for my face shape). I had my brows and upper lip done for a total of $10 ($6 for brows, $4 for upper lip). This is super cheap compared to all the North County spas/salons charging $15+ for JUST eyebrows! Not to mention, most of the time the salons are not that good at threading and tweeze instead of thread your brows. Such n00bs... Another plus about this place is that they give out punch cards. You receive a free eyebrow threading after 10 times. (I don't think the Rosemead location gave these out.. Or maybe I was just never given one) I'm so glad that Kaya decided to open a store in Oceanside and sent Astha to this location. Finally something good about living in North County! Can't wait to see her again soon! PS they charge a convenience fee of $1 of you pay by credit card so bring cash if you're too cheap to pay the dollar fee! lol read more

But luckily was able to grow it back a bit and the girl who would do them would do a great job of not thinning them anymore. Well it's been almost a year since I did my brows, decided to grow them out more because I missed how thick they were. Today someone new did them and I literally thin them out so much. You can see the tan of where my brows use to be. It took me almost a year to grow them out only for them to be thinned out so much. I never expected her to take so much off. I wish I had the great experience others had, but I think I went to the wrong person. I only came bc I moved up north and wanted to find a new shop. Wasn't able to get her name but w/description she's dark toned w/long black hair, I thought the pain during the process was from having so much hair bc I was growing them out, but when I got home, washed up, I felt a burning sensation on my eyelids! It's been two days and it still hurts, I have to be so gentle when drying my face off. Please, if you do go here, try going to someone else.
