Really fun stop, named after being in an old newspaper building. Sports bar vibe through and through. Came in for dinner and some NCAA tournament. Mix of families early, then some younger groups. The food is plentiful. The burgers and Rueben are big enough to split. Both are excellent. The wings came out great. Same with the poutine. Great fries. Service was fantastic. !

Ordered Delivery which we all know challenges the integrity of the food and yet we were super happy with everything we ordered! PressRoom Pub served us a delicious buffalo wrap, chipotle chicken sandwich and salad. What was most impressive was the seasoning on the fries, both the cajun and garlic parm and the chicken on all 3 items. The chicken was melt in your mouth good in all 3 dishes and that blew us away. The one thing we didn't love was the falafel in the salad, odd flavor and to be fair falafel that sits too long rarely has a chance. And it was just a small portion of it. We are excited to go and sit down at some point. When delivery is this good, usually the sit down is twice as nice! Enjoy!

We went on a whim I will say the service was stellar on point. The salad was lacking everything else was delicious including our drinks . The atmosphere was cool great vibe and seemed to to a moderate amount of business. Plenty of parking and open on a Sunday which is a huge plus so I bay cone again and avoid the side salad.

Always a great time at this pub. Plenty of seating for all. Great big bar. They have a great bar menu as well. Burgers, chicken wings, and some amazing appetizers. Plenty for all. Something for everyone. Also have space for private parties. You have to come check them out.

This place was okay. I give it two stars for the space and atmosphere. This would be a great place to watch an SU game. The food, drinks and service were okay though. I would come by if there was an event. I wouldn't come for dinner again though. I ordered the BLT. It was okay, not the best one I've had. It was super messy and kept falling apart. There was way too much on the super thin roll.

This place is loud and large. They offer heaps of beers on tap and different kind of bar food. I didn't eat anything but their nachos, burgers and fried chicken fingers looked amazing! This is a great place to watch a football game or bring a large crowd or even a date. They have outdoor seating, a few different rooms for progeny events if needed and a parking area. I just came here for drinks. The service was friendly and fast. The vibe is solid and in a location close to other hip places to visit in the city.

Loaded salt potatoes

1st time at the Pub! We ordered loaded salt potatoes, French onion soup, and a chipotle chicken panini. All dee-lish except for the sweet potato fries! Heard it was their signature thing, but it wasn't for me. Dipped it in their special sauce and it tasted like French toast and syrup. Not dipped they were ok. If you like sweet, this is for you! Just my preference. Everything else was great, and the bartender was spot on. ( Sat at the bar ). We would definitely return. Great atmosphere for watching football on a Sunday! Check em out!

My wife and I had an early Valentine's Day dinner, or late lunch depending on how you look at it…read more The place was already full on a Saturday afternoon in the bar area, but we had our table waiting for us in the dining room. The host was friendly, our server was upbeat and attentive, and the owner came by to chat late in the meal. A truly welcoming experience. We started off with two Black & Tans (Guinness and Harp) and an order of the Irish Fritters and mini potato pancakes. Generous enough portions of both, that we set aside half to take home for the next day. Our entrees were the Irish Meatloaf dinner and the baked haddock dinner. Both arrived perfectly timed and perfectly cooked. Again, we couldn't quite finish them, so we boxed up the remainder for Sunday. For dessert, we opted to drink ours. We ordered a strawberry Martini and a whiskey cocktail named after the title of Ireland's Prime Minister. All in all, it was 2 hours from start to finish, the bill was $110, to which I added a 25% tip. If you're looking for a real taste of Ireland, look no further than Kitty Hoynes.

After Removing the burnt crust the rest was delicious. The fish did not seem to be a light white fish though the fries were excellent. We also had the sandwich of the day to go. It was good. For dessert we had the gluten free brownie. It came with ice cream and was very good. We were in a corner of the restaurant and the service was a bit on the slow side.

It's been a while since I'd last been but everything is as amazing as I remembered…read more I've seen them advertise their monthly "flight night" events for some time but never actually had been to one. When I saw an espresso martini and cake pairing, I knew I had to pull the trigger. Met up with some friends and we all ordered food beforehand to offset the impending sugar rush. I'd had their naan pizza in the past and loved it, so this time I went with the one that had caramelized onions and goat cheese. AMAZING. Crispy crust, melty cheese, tangy onions and the perfect amount of everything in every bite. Then onto the main event: the flights! The staff brought over our cake and drinks and were so great about explaining what to pair together. (There was also a card) Desserts were a carrot cake with the most impossibly airy icing, a pistachio cheesecake with chocolate ganache, and a chocolate cake with a light nutella icing. I'm usually a carrot cake girlie and while I enjoyed it, the cheesecake was actually my favorite. Just the perfect pistachio flavor and a wonderful consistency -- so, so smooth. Our waitress told us that the owner is the one that makes all of the desserts too. A multi-talented queen. As far as the martinis, my favorite was the affogato one. These flight-nights are one-off events and the items aren't normally on the menu, so if you see one that looks extra appealing, get yourself there! I've been for normal service too though, and honestly, never have had a misfire here. One thing I especially love is the option to order drinks in 5oz pours, a godsend for lightweights like me. Ambiance, food, drinks, all excellent.

I was never acknowledged by bar tender or any staff. Not offered a menu or refills. Staff had to be flagged down for the bill and cleanup of dishes that were on the bar the entire visit. Cozy pub vibes right in the heart of Syracuse!…read more My boyfriend and I stumbled upon Shaughnessy's Irish Pub on a Sunday night when most places nearby were already closed--and it turned out to be a happy accident! The pub was quiet when we arrived but quickly filled up, giving it a great energy without feeling too crowded. We shared the nachos and a mix of wings--both delicious, with the perfect balance of flavor and crunch. I had a glass of white wine (nothing extraordinary, but still tasty), and my boyfriend ordered a Guinness and immediately noted how perfect the pour was--exactly what you'd hope for at an Irish pub. All in all, a great spot with solid food, a relaxed vibe, and friendly service. Would definitely recommend if you're in Syracuse and looking for a cozy place that stays open a little later!

Quality of the food depends. The $18 salad was a plate of iceberg lettuce with a few scraps of cheese thrown on. The salad was the biggest disappointment. On the other hand, the classic poutine was bang on. Great ratio of gravy to fries, everything was nice, all the flavors were right. But the rest of the poutines have too much quality variation, which is unforgivable for a place advertising their 12 different kinds of poutine. None of the other flavors were nearly as good as the classic, with combos that didn't work. The burger was tasty. However, it was supposed to be medium and it was very rare. The beer cheese pretzel was also disappointing. The cheese had been cooked too long, or maybe microwaved, because it had seized and was very coarse and mealy. The amount of cheese was also not enough for the pretzel. Service was great. No complaints about any of the waitresses or hostesses. Overall, a fine place near downtown to get a classic poutine and an artisanal beer. Stay away from everything else.
