This was my second time since my last review here. Two things I've observed since... the servers are incredibly friendly but it is pretty slow in there, a good thing to keep in mind. They do make great drinks. The nachos were okay, they came with chicken which wasn't on the menu description. The menu is limited before a crunch game, nachos were listed at $11, which I ordered. When the tab came I was up-charged $6 for chicken... I didn't order. Definitely not ideal, but the location is fun, servers are friendly so I will happily give them another shot!

I am here for a conference and this pub is conveniently in the basement of my hotel. Service was fast and friendly. I got the 8oz angus burger with fries. The fries were very good. The burger was also good but a little rubbery. It's a fun place to hang out!

I was really unhappy here but the food was really good, so it makes up for it. It took around 15 minutes for someone to take our drink orders and over an hour to get our food. We asked for no lettuce on a wrap and it almost seemed like they put extra on it!!! My quesadilla was REALLY good though, I almost feel like it was worth the wait.

Stopped by for quickly for some drinks and a snack. We shared the nachos and we got martinis. They were both made perfectly as ordered. The staff was nice and the food came out quick. Nachos were yummy and I would get them again nice option in the lower level if the Marriott with late hours.

Traditional(ish) pub menu so not the best choice if you want "lighter fare" but swell if you want quesadillas and sweet potato fries (waffle cut!). Quesadilla was filled with chicken and bacon so nicely savory - sufficiently filling that (with those fries) I left a 1/4 behind. For a reason that defies logic, it was served with (homemade?) tortilla chips as a side... why? A friend ordered the fish and chips but subbed in onion rings - huge order, looked good. Service was great. Live music at ~5:30 made it hard to talk. We were able to secure street parking (Flowbird).

    Limp barely salted fries.

I ordered the fish and chips and it came in this Etsy styled fry basket with what looks like food safe paper printed like newspaper. The fries were on the bottom, and the fish was on the top both fresh out of the fryer. The problem was the fish was crispy on the top side, but because they stacked everything in the basket, all the steam and moisture from the fries, softened the underside of the fish and made the fries limp. It was probably the worst fish and chips I've ever had. They should auction off all their fry basket trinkets and buy bigger plates and just plate up the dang food. They're not serving the stuff out on the street like London is and it's not newspaper so don't try to be something you are not.

Typical sports bar / pub food. So not surprising I wasn't wowed. Got nachos and chicken noodle soup. Sat at the bar. Service was good though - bartenders were nice and attentive. We were there on a Wednesday too so trivia started at 7pm which was fun!

For something located in a hotel (in this case, the Marriott Syracuse Downtown) it works well. It doesn't have the hotel feel to it, and it actually seems like the Pub name fits well. I like the fact that the menu has a punny dog theme to it! Anyway... the beer selection is decent. The PUB NACHOS -- Tortilla chips, shredded chicken, jalapeno, pico, black beans, queso, shredded Monterey jack, sour cream, are actually pretty amazing. After a long drive, having the simple GRILLED CHEESE DELUXE -- Sourdough, provolone, bacon, tomato, was very satisfying. However, on a second visit on a day to hot with not enough energy to find somewhere else new, having the French dip sandwich (which doesn't seem to be on the web menu) was a disappointment. Maybe they are just testing it? Either way, a solid place for either a backup plan or the main choice if convenience is a top priority.

I've been by here when out at the bars, usually just in passing. Its unique location, kind of remotely around the corner from where the other bars start, makes it the designated bar for people staying at the Marriott, and people attending big events at the Oncenter. Outside of those rushes, it's a good place to hang out. We went here this year for parade day. The parade itself was the least crowded we've ever seen, but every bar in armory square was just as full as ever. It was starting to get dark, which means we'd been at it for about five hours amid the crowds of shouting green people and we needed a tactical retreat. Without JRyans, we did some quick figuring and thought this would be just far enough from the action to order bar food without getting laughed at. They were pretty busy, but we were able to get a table right away. We kept the Bud Lights flowing and ordered some food to keep us going. They had a limited menu for parade day. Their menu is already pretty short, so this was just bullet points. Wings and Reubens though, at least they didn't mess with the essentials. The food took about an hour to arrive, but that's not really a shocker on a day like this. We loved everything we got. The wings were crispy without being burnt. We even separately pointed out that the celery and bleu cheese were specifically refreshing. There was something great about the fries. I swear it wasn't the alcohol talking, we all raved about the fries and agreed they were the best. They had that perfect crispy yet soft texture to them. And on theme with the rest, we also loved how the Reuben was cooked. Word of the day: crispy! The bread was grilled crispy, but not hard, and the meat was cooked just enough to hold up against the soft, soundly constructed layer of sauerkraut, dressing and cheese on top. The pricing here is a bit higher than the bars we typically spend more time in, but at least as far as the food goes, we got the best we could have hoped for. There were three of us, and with two Reubens, the 12 wings, and the beers we ordered in just over an hour, the final bill came to about $100. From this trip, we can confirm that one, the food is great. And two, this is sufficiently far from the parade crowd to have a slightly quieter conversation while sitting down to some bar food.

The host was friendly, our server was upbeat and attentive, and the owner came by to chat late in the meal. A truly welcoming experience. We started off with two Black & Tans (Guinness and Harp) and an order of the Irish Fritters and mini potato pancakes. Generous enough portions of both, that we set aside half to take home for the next day. Our entrees were the Irish Meatloaf dinner and the baked haddock dinner. Both arrived perfectly timed and perfectly cooked. Again, we couldn't quite finish them, so we boxed up the remainder for Sunday. For dessert, we opted to drink ours. We ordered a strawberry Martini and a whiskey cocktail named after the title of Ireland's Prime Minister. All in all, it was 2 hours from start to finish, the bill was $110, to which I added a 25% tip. If you're looking for a real taste of Ireland, look no further than Kitty Hoynes.

After a evening of shopping, it was time to wind down so considering the options we chose Coleman's. Place was packed as always. The band was setting up to start to play in an hour. We got a table out back. Hankering for a shepherds pie that is one of the premier meals here. But before that we got ourselves, some spinach and artichoke dip. I haven't had this in what feels like decades. It was pretty darn good. Plenty of chips and plenty of dip. So much so, that I brought the leftovers home. So both of us did go with the shepherds pie. Both of us really enjoyed it. It came out, piping hot, with the mashed potatoes on top, covering up the beef, sauce, peas, onions, and whatever else they put in this thing! The food was great, everyone enjoyed their meal. I got the guinness beef stew which came out steaming hot in a bread bowl. I loved the gravy, if anything wish there was a little more meat but the flavor was delicious. The service great, our waitress was a nice young lady who was attentive and helpful.
