My friend and I stopped in on a late Sunday afternoon. The bartender greeted us shortly after arriving, and helped us clear a spot at the bar. We had a round of beers. Sierra was super friendly as were many of the patrons. So a friendly atmosphere, old Irish pub vibe mindfully kept as is. They had just celebrated their 30th anniversary over the weekend and it sounds like a place that is good to patrons and their staff. Spacious for gatherings and have two pool tables and dart boards. They do not serve food so don't come hungry but good for some drinks and socializing. I can definitely see this establishment being a Cheers situation as they make you feel welcome even for new patrons. read more

Stopped in during the day on a quick visit to Syracuse. Very friendly bartender and patrons. My friends had been there before me and went back later in the eve because they enjoyed it so much. Nice jukebox read more

I frequent Limericks Pub often. It is a staple of Syracuse nightlife, and you can find areas of the pub to socialize or relax and enjoy drinks with your friends. However, last night I had a very unpleasant experience with a female bartender, Bridget, who approached me in a group of people and said, "I'm going to need you to be quiet." Mind you, it was past 10:00pm on a Saturday. This is the first negative experience I've had at the Pub, and it was solely due to the staff's impoliteness stemming from their own personal issues with the noise level of the Pub. It's a bar on a Saturday night, people drink, people are going to be loud. If you don't like it, maybe you should consider finding another profession? read more

was good but the dude bartender is an asshole will bug out on you in front of a bunch of people if you're smoking weed instead of just asking us to leave (there was no sign stating not to and it's legal so sorry to the owner if it is. But I think he was just mad we asked to use a plastic cup lolol read more

Limerick is a fun spot and has space to play pool and darts. Not sure if they serve food but their drinks are good and cheap and the staff is usually pretty friendly. read more

The bartenders and staff are very rude and don't approve of anyone under the age of 40 coming into the bar. The beer selection blows and they don't even have steel tip darts. The pool table is falling apart and the building looks like it may collapse at any time. The place is musty, dirty, and the bathrooms are disgusting. They have terrible live music every once in a while. Stay clear of this place. Hit up Blue Tusk next door. read more

Great service and drinks. The bartender Friday night (forgot her name) was super friendly. She remembered my drink order several times plus made an amazing long island. Our friends got hungry so they even let us get takeout from a restaurant up the street and enjoy it inside. They have a few pool tables and darts to enjoy as well. read more

No frills bar with great atmosphere. Don't come here to get a manhattan, but grab a beer or three and talk with the locals. I had a good time here and will come back when I'm here. read more

I have never been treated as rudely as I was tonight by Trish, the bartender on staff this afternoon. Instead of greeting me in a courteous and professional way, she demanded I promise not to cause any trouble. I asked her to explain, and instead of answering my question, she tried to deflect the point back to me by saying if I didn't know what she was talking about, then I was that bad. I was so stunned, I didn't know what to say, so I left. I didn't swear, threaten anyone, or anything else. I got up and she threw a fit as I was walking out, screaming about how she was going to tell her boss. The curious thing is that I hadn't set foot in the Limerick since before the pandemic started, and when I did, a different bartender waited on me and everything was fine. I went in a week after that, and a different bartender waited on me, and it was fine. Oh well... read more

Excellent burger! Went on move in weekend and still had good service and great food!!

Went recently on St. Patrick's day. I have been here before and while it's nothing fancy it serves the bill. We got served right away and drank our beers for the next part of our st Patrick's day tour. It was half packed and the bartender served us right away for the drinks and for closing out the bill. The place has a couple of pool tables, darts and some computer bar games. In the summer there are a couple of tables on the Walton side which is nice to people watch. I would was definitely pleased with the fast service, especially it being st Patrick's day. read more

Limerick Pub - a pint of bud light and a glass of beer - Pubs Near Me - Syracuse, New York

Stinky bathroom Horrible bartender what a dump! They really need to get rid of bartender and find someone who knows about customer service!

This is the perfect pub for those visiting Downtown Syracuse. The atmosphere is perfect for a sports bar. Kayla and Bridget are the best bartenders ever. If you're staying in Armory Square, this is the best place for lat night libations.... read more

The atmosphere is fun and the bartenders are okay. I feel as though the crowd is only because of the walk that is going on. Prices are okay though for the area. read more

I can't begin to say how great this place is. The music is always excellent, the selection of beers is quite varied, and above all else the service I experienced with Tricia was top notch. I watched her manage a bar full of people effortlessly. Nobody ever waited for a drink and she was personable and fun. I love that they are one of the few bars with pool tables and darts. Strongly recommend giving this place a shot. read more

I love The Limerick! When I worked nearby I used to stop in for happy hour regularly. Jamie is a great bartender, he's been there for many years and he's a nice guy. They have a descent selection of beers you've heard of at reasonable prices, unlike other bars in Armory Square that serve "exotic" beers at incredibly inflated prices to all the tourists. There's a pool table and darts, outdoor tables in front, and a patio out back during the warm season. read more

There once was Pub name of Limerick, Whose Bartender was quite the Prick, He was crabby and rude, quite possibly crude If you'd asked him for water you wouldn't get a lick ------------------------------- Do not honor this establishment with your patronage! The bartender here said "get out!" when I ordered a water. I explained to him, I was driving and couldn't drink, he said "get out!" I responded by saying "are you the owner?" He said "yeah I am the owner." I explained to the doorman the situation as I was leaving (we had chatted about voting when I entered the Bar, it was voting day). Forget this place, I can't imagine a Bartender who won't provide water to people, how can you be a designated driver? read more

I went here for a bar crawl and the owner/manger/bartender WAS THE BIGGEST BITCH IN THE TNIRE WORLD. She was rude and disrespectful and fully mean to us for no reason at all. We came in with a good attitude and paid for our drinks. Do not go here it was an awful experience do not spend your money here ever 0 stars read more

Decent bar. It's usually pretty dead there, just the normal barflys. Which is nice because there are 2 pool tables for $1 and a dart board. Bigger than it looks, a lot of people cram in this place on the weekends. Drinks are pretty cheap and the bartenders are heavy handed. Not really a great selection for booze, but they carry the normal selection you'd expect to find. read more

Awful management. Pure Awful. We try to play buck hunter, and it takes our money and is apparently out of order without any sign stating so. We tell one of the bartenders and they just shrug it off. We order a few beers and the owner keeps staring at us the entire time. A few moments later, after a few sips, the owner throws a ten dollar bill at us (approximately our tab) and tells us that we were being disrespectful and didn't want us there and has the bouncers throw us out. We go outside and the bouncer proceeds to tell us he doesn't know why we are kicked out. read more

This place is disgusting and I will not be returning. The bartenders are extremely rude and the drink selection is poor. Not to mention, the bathrooms are DISGUSTING! As a women, I can't stand when bathrooms have toilet paper, urine and even throwup everywhere. Nice job management. Don't come in here. I regret ever doing so. Go next door to the bluetusk or empire for a much better time. read more

Went in with friend for a few beers. Total of four in bar including the two of us. First and second round no problem. Finished the second, placed bottle to front of bar and sat for ten minuets while the bartender talked to the other two sitting at the end of the bar. Finally she looked up and I said gregarious bartender I'm dry.... she came over and screamed at me don't ever call me bartender. I said that is what you are doing tending bar. It proceeded to me being an old man and get out. I asked around and they said that is the way it is there. I'm done never again will I spend money there. read more

I typically visit this bar on a Thursday-Saturday night, when the others are shoulder-shoulder packed and too loud to have a conversation. It's a great bar if you want some space to breathe and play pool/darts or socialize. The selection of beers and liquor is limited, but that's not what their niche is. Al's for liquor, Blue Tusk for beer, Limerick for conversation and a game of pool. I understand why some reviewers say the staff comes off as rude/mean. They're generally an older staff (30s-40s), and they have their serious faces on to the average passerby, but they do a good job of keeping the place safe. I've found that if you show common courtesy and introduce yourself to them, they're actually all very friendly people. I've met a number of really cool people here, and hope more come out to share a laugh and a game of pool. read more

Good atmosphere, awesome back patio and reasonably priced drinks. Limericks is a great place to relax, enjoy one another's company and play some games (darts, pool, arcade, etc.). The bar tending staff is never friendly...it might just be because they're extremely quiet and do not engage in any conversation whatsoever. I usually stop in once a weekend for a couple drinks as a change of scenery from the fast paced, crowded downtown bar scene. However, after recent events I can honestly say that I will never return to Limericks which disappoints me as much it infuriates me. My group and I were forcefully and rudely removed from the pub for starting a "Let's go Crunch!" chant after the Syracuse Crunch hockey team won their second game in a row to bring the Calder cup finals back to Syracuse for game 6. I understand if this was too rowdy for an establishment such as Limericks, however we were completely blind sided as no warning or opportunity was given to correct our apparently uncouth behavior. What is even worse is that no official reason was given for the removal by bouncer and bartender (real mature on management's part), and it was done in a completely unprofessional manner. Go elsewhere if you want to have fun and show Syracuse pride because Limericks doesn't support either. read more

If you're not a regular you might as well forget it. The other reviewers are correct-- if you're under 40 or not a familiar face, they don't take kindly to you. It's a shame because the ambiance is great and is a welcoming change of pace from being packed in somewhere on the weekend. read more

Damn this place is great! I loved getting glared at by the condescending bouncer as soon as I walked in the door only to be directed toward the stern and dull gentlemen that call themselves bartenders . Is it that hard to say "hello" to a paying customer? Apparently it is at limericks. Things started to get better as soon as I received my warm Guinness that was not given time to properly settle when poured. This is an Irish pub right? Fantastic. In the midst of a unforgettable night I had the privilege of warming the bottom of my shoes in the fresh urine covering the bathroom floor. Sadly the night ended too soon with a last call at 10:30pm. And my friends wanted to go to Blue Tusk??... what a joke. Apparently time flies when your having fun! read more

Other than the ambiance, this place has nothing going for it. Staff is incredibly rude to non-regulars, and the beer is warm. Tusk, Empire, or even Al's are better choices. read more

Nothing special, but not awful either. The bartenders aren't especially friendly to non-regulars, but they aren't hostile either. It was pretty mellow the night we were there and it was possible to carry on a conversation without having to scream over noise. There are quite a few beers in bottles and on draft from which to choose. read more

This place was pretty cool. The bartender wasn't super friendly. I did like that I could sit outdoors and enjoy the sunshine with my cold beverage of choice. read more

Wish I could give this place negative stars. In town visiting some college buddies and wanted to grab a beer and a game of darts before starting the night off. Place was completely dead... Cool layout but the bartender was horribly rude. She honestly ruined the city of Syracuse for me. F that place. read more

Terrible service. Went to a wedding at the Sky Armory and after the wedding everyone wanted to go to Limerick. There was over 20 people and the bouncer and bartender turned the bride down because she didn't have her ID. She is clearly over 21 and has been to Limerick plenty of times. The bartender is a complete ass and he lost a lot of paying customers. Do not go here... ever. read more

The bartender (Trish) was very rude to us and I hate to say it but just a BITCH for no reason. Shitty mixed drinks too. She wouldn't even tell us what was on tap, had to get up from the bar to look at a sign over the bar. Shame because this place could be a great hang out in Armory. read more

We went before the Jackson Browne concert. Bottled beer and draft not very cold. Service seemed dysfunctional.

Low key, great place to hang with friends.

Great chill place. Not too busy. Good beer selection. Cool decor. Pool tables and darts available. Nice location in the heart of Armory Square in Downtown Syracuse. read more

This place is pretty shitty! I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy! Bartenders suck, beer is old, liquor seems watered down, bathroom are shitty. Best thing going is you can take your drink out back to smoke and watch the people eating in pasta's. Save yourself the shitty experience and go someplace else! read more

Went in there last Friday and the bartender wouldn't serve me unless I said "please", as in "can I have a beer please". It used to be my favorite place in Armory Square but unfortunately will not go back. read more

Agree with the other comments about extremely poor service. The place was also empty when we got there and the female bartender still had a problem with us from the minute we walked in. I thought we caught her on an off night but from the other responses I guess that's normal. Don't waste your money here you can find a much better place in town read more

I will never walk into this loser-stained excuse of a business ever again. Shit bartender. Went at 5:50pm June 25th for a drink (turned 21 a week prior, enjoying my newfound freedom) and was greeted with instant hostility from the bartender because I'm young. Blank face, no recommendation (she and a customer said water and proceeded to laugh at me). She refused to serve me since I only had my temporary 21 yr-old license. Empire, lakehouse pub, Al's, and even Wegman's don't have a problem with it, so I have zero reason to ever deal with their shit-ass bartenders and their garbage beer selection ever again. read more

Worst place ever! Marko has too big of an ego and drives business elsewhere! Problem is he doesn't know half the people he drives away because he doesn't know how to be an actual bartender! I would tell everyone I know to stay away from here! I asked for two beers and he wanted me to say please for them like my mother taught me, so he said. I said well im the paying customer and just want two beers. We posed no threat and just asked for an order. He didn't. Like that and called the bouncers over to throw us out because he didn't get his way. I will make sure that I tell everyone I know to stay away from this place because of employees that treat their paying customers terrible!! I am well connected and will make sure that this brought up in all circles that i attend! Marko should be ashamed to call himself part of the service industry! Owners of Limericks beware this guy is driving away revenue! I do not say this lightly because I have spent quite a bit of money at this establishment. This is unacceptable! Do not go here if you want to be treated like you are no good. Worst place to spend your hard earned dollars! read more
