There was nobody in there but us, and it was very quiet which was different since we usually go on weekends. It was interesting, just didn't know that was the vibe on weekdays. The bartender helped us immediately and we got out drink quickly. Now, my complaint is the price. This small cheese board was $25, it doesn't look as small in the pictures, but I promise the board was TINY. A quarter of a baguette, prepackaged olives, a few bites of cheese each? NOT worth the money. If I come back, I will not be getting any food that's for sure..::

We got a fish sandwich with fries, a fish sandwich with coleslaw, and clam strips with fries and mac salad. The portions are huge! The fish doesn't even fit on the roll. This is probably the best tasting fried haddock sandwich I've had. The flavor is wonderful and it's perfectly cooked. The fries are really crisp and the slaw is creamy and delicious. My son said the clam strips were great and he loved his fries and mac salad.

We checked out the coffee lounge first and got espresso martini and chatted. The decor was a homey feel and I can see myself coming back meeting up with friends for coffee and catching up. Then we headed to the speakeasy and had the seasonal cocktails and just ordered salads and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. The salads and fries were simple and I like my "girl dinner" lol. I was told to come back for their brunch so that's on the list. The atmosphere and vibes were cozy, a great place to unwind and catch up or like us celebrate a special occasion. Both service in the coffee lounge and speakeasy were welcoming. I see that they host tons of events so I'll definitely have to check those out. Also can't wait to check out the rooftop lounge once they warmer weather returns. They are utilizing the space with bubble tents with reservations, so that's a fun idea. A cute and fun spot on Tipp hill to definitely check out.

Drinks and food was being prepared and served in the core lounge instead and it was a mess to say the least. It took 30-40 minutes for our food to come out and when the Brie board first came out of the kitchen it was sat on the counter for another 10 minutes, leaving the Brie to have a film over the top and was no longer soft. The flatbread was a disappointment, there was no sauce on the pizza and it was just way too bland for the price.... Locating Thompson Road Tavern online, it looked like a good place to go... and we weren't wrong! The tavern is small, featuring a bar with several tables in 2 separate rooms. It is basement level and just a black unmarked door opens to the staircase leading down, that has clear signage. It definitely is like stepping back in time and there's no Wi-Fi service so guests are enjoying the live music or socializing! We ordered pretty quickly at the bar, we were not offered menus so I'm not sure what their signature cocktails are. Ordered a martini requested fruity, I believe it was raspberry not sure and a dark red for my friend. We sat in some cozy velvet purple chairs in the lounge area enjoying live Jazz music. My friend recalls this was a downstairs dining area for Burger King in the 80's-early 90's. The bar and Bath Room could be a bit tidier, but otherwise fun retro vibe. There is an historical piston machine on display that was used to run the building's original elevator utilizing steam! And now serves as decor and remanence of past decades.

We arrived just as a local band was getting ready for a three hour set (4-7pm) on a Sunday afternoon. Cover charge was $5.00 each. There were quite a few people there, but there was still room to sit in the spacious outdoor deck/stage area. There's also an outside bar area to grab a drink, instead of having to run inside to the regular bar. Food was available, but we did not try anything. The indoor vathrooms were pretty small, but served the purpose. The music was very good, the sound was loud enough, without blaring out of the speakers. There's a roof over the outside deck, but it's in different sections, so the sun does shine though in areas, making it a little hot when it's hitting you. Our only complaint would be the amount of people that were smoking. There is no way to get away from the cigarette smoke wafting in your face. Other than that, it seems like a great venue to enjoy some live music, a drink and a bite to eat. We definitely plan on going back.
