I have a few different feet issues and Bob was very knowledgeable, friendly and extremely patient with me. He also helped my husband with his hiking boot purchase. Prices are definitely on the higher end, but hey, you get what you pay for. If you are an REI member, you get offers, and discounts throughout the year, and a rebate in the form of a gift card based on the amount that you spend every year. Not a bad deal. The staff member was very patient while I tried on nearly every pair in the store and almost every pair available was on sale (it is noted that in the past, staff found a way to *make* my preferred pair on sale). This store appeared organized and sufficiently staffed for a busy summer day like today, and they offered a broad variety of outdoor/sports paraphernalia. Everyone I encountered was friendly, the birds were singing, and my deodorant was holding up well I walked out of the store happy with a new pair of Bolle sunglasses (on sale as usual!).

I thought it'd be tougher to bike around but the trails are super smooth and a calm ride. The bikes were expensive looking and rode well. Biking around to the shops and back to our rental was relaxing and fun. We kept discovering wildlife while going over the biking trails. Deer, chipmunks, woodpeckers, etc. It was all a short leisurely ride. We'd stop, the boy would look for a few minutes, then off we go. Beyond the rental, while I was in the shop people were coming and going getting things fixed, questions answered, friendly advice on parts, and buying seats or locks. The employees were genuinely nice people and I hope that they continue to be successful.

This brand offers a very high level of consistency as well as customer service. Top quality products at a reasonable price point so to speak, service to buy typically outstanding group of employees. Having been a regular shopper at the location in Sellwood, I was a little concerned I would lose some of that service that I've been accustomed to at the show and location however my fears are put to rest easily on my first visit to the Bend location. My first experience was with one of the management team - Brody - and I cannot day enough great things about my interactions with him. My family and I will be back!
