THIS IS THE BEST CORTADO I'VE EVER HAD…read more Day 6 has been on my list for quite some. Upon arrival, I was met with excellent music and a warm greeting. Once I reached the counter, the gentleman helped me with selecting a coffee and even answered a few clarifying questions I had about ingredients. I got 2 cortados (I drank the first one so fast that I needed another one), a vanilla latte (sweet but balanced), and two croissants (almond and chocolate). My friends got a cheesecake latte (cupcake dominant and didn't have enough cookie butter flavoring), a white mocha hot chocolate (pretty good), and a blueberry muffin (amazingly soft, flavorful, and balanced). All together, I'll be coming back much more often!!!

I also tried one of their muffins, and it was absolutely delicious. Another 5/5! The only thing that disappointed me was the coffee. I asked the barista for a recommendation and specifically mentioned that I wanted a coffee that wasn't too sweet. She recommended a drink, and I trusted her suggestion. Unfortunately, when I tried it, it was much sweeter than I was expecting. I understand recommendations are subjective, so I don't blame anyone,it just wasn't what I was looking for. Because of that, I'd give the coffee 1/5. It simply wasn't to my taste. Overall, the great service and delicious muffin were definite highlights, but the coffee experience brought my overall rating down to 3/5.

The shot of espresso, I prefer more viscous and there was no spoon to break the crema but honestly wasn't much to need one. Still it was ok just a thin tasting shot with no flavor or life to it. Boo Maybe their lattes are nice but if the espresso shot is what they use in lattes it wouldn't be enough to break the milk. Little pricey Cool logo and chill place.

Parking can be ridiculous sometimes (their parking lot is a bit confusing in my opinion), but there is lots of seating both inside and outside. Staff is nice and they have a good selection of coffee, matcha, other drinks, and pastries/snacks. I met up here with friends around 10pm and there were still plenty of customers in the cafe. The iced fruity pebbles latte was yummy and really did taste like cereal milk. In my opinion, the coffee taste is good/not bitter but it isn't that strong and probably won't give you the caffeine you want. Also, although the paper straws are cute, they got soft really quickly and you end up with a soggy straw. This is a nice coffee shop for ambiance, but there are definitely other cafes in Houston with better coffee.

Food 4/5 Service 4/5…read moreAmbiance 3.5/5 Press Waffle is a stand set up in Lyric Market, pretty close to the heart of Downtown Houston. Despite its location, it's surprisingly a quiet place - just some pretty light foot traffic in the morning I came. The waffle dish of choice today was "The Rancher" - a play on Chicken and Waffles as a sandwich, featuring syrup, powdered sugar, and ranch on the side. It was a truly creative choice, and it had many highs to it. The chicken was fried well, and the waffles were quite fluffy. However, I wasn't the biggest fan of the ranch and syrup together - maybe it's just personal taste though. The sandwich was also a bit small for the $14 price point - I left definitely wanting some more food in the belly. Overall, not a bad place. The food quality is there - it just may be a bit small portion size.

Service was just okay. Nothing stood out. I'd definitely recommend the waffles.

Got their infamous einspanner and I was a fan! The whipped foam on top was so creamy without being heavy, and all mixed together, it was a great balance of sweet and creamy with a subtle hit of bitterness from the coffee. I totally get why they are known for this. (8.5/10) The service was also very fast and friendly. Overall, I'd definitely come back.

The barista was very nice and helpful. She explained that their coffee is already strong and offered to do a lighter caramel drizzle, which I appreciated. I usually avoid iced coffee because it can taste watered down to me, but I figured a blended drink might be different. Unfortunately, when I took my first sip, it still tasted watery and not as strong as I was hoping for. I think it may have just needed more coffee flavor overall, so I was a little disappointed with the drink itself. The space was nice, though. It had couches, seating throughout, and enough room for small groups to sit and hang out. Overall, the barista was kind and tried to be helpful, but the drink just was not executed the way I had hoped. I tried six drinks in total: Island Latte, Mont Blanc, Matcha Latte, Cream Americano, Black Island, and Delight Matcha. I ordered everything hot except the Delight Matcha, which came as an iced slushy and was super refreshing. Each drink had its own personality, but the Island Latte stole the show for me. Made with espresso, coconut milk, and pandan, it had a smooth tropical twist that I could drink every day. The Mont Blanc was rich and earthy, combining charcoal, espresso, and milk. The Matcha Latte kept it classic with just matcha and milk, and the Cream Americano delivered exactly what it promised with a nice balance of bold and sweet. The Black Island had a deeper flavor with a subtle hint of pandan flavor that paired well with the charcoal. Parking is fairly easy, either on the street or in the visitor section of the garage. As someone who takes coffee seriously, I can honestly say this is one of my favorite coffee spots in Houston. Creative drinks, good vibes, and a great place to explore unique flavors.
