They also were transparent about pricing, and the labor and effort was so worth it, especially when the damage was more extensive than we originally thought. I don't know anything about cars, and I never felt taken advantage of. Most importantly, as a queer nonbinary trans person, I often feel nervous about going into places like this, and I felt safe and affirmed the whole time! They even asked how I wanted to be addressed, which I've never experienced at a an auto body shop. I can't recommend this place highly enough, you should come here for anything you need! I called there yesterday about getting my car inspected before the end of this month & I was given an appointment for this morning. It was so easy & pleasant there, my car was carefully inspected & thankfully, all was good. However, they pointed out to me how the body work that had been done by another shop as a result of a collision 2 years ago wasn't done correctly. When I asked if they could fix it, they told me honestly that it would cost more to do than it was worth. My car was making a rubbing sounds when I turned to the right. Also I needed to have it inspected, and I needed new tires. I called the shop and made an appointment to come in. I dropped the car off thinking it needed an alignment, but they found that it was a bad bearing, not an alignment issue. The replaced the bearing, replaced my tires, and inspected the car in the same day. No more noise (but more importantly, it's safe to drive now) and the inspection is done. They did not do an alignment because it didn't need that, and they were honest about it. The manager/owner then called me the next morning to check if everything was ok. I have been ban from Millinium service which is fine because I would not let them touch any of my 3 Hyundai vehicles. Our car was sideswiped and required extensive repairs and body work. Much of this required new parts. Our insurance company gave us some options and Precision Transmissions was among them. I read the numerous positive reviews and chose Precision Transmissions. I'm glad I did. Eric is the owner and man in charge. He is friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. The shop is immaculate and his staff professional. Everyone was wearing masks. He answered all my questions and made me feel confident the car was in good hands. It took a while to get all the work done--but that's all due to the terrible supply chain issues, which was confirmed by the car manufacturer itself. Once the parts were in, the work was done quickly and thoroughly. And not once did we have any hassles with our insurer. Everything was by the book, which is how it should be in these cases. When we picked up the vehicle, we noticed one slight issue with a very small portion of the bodywork. We brought it to Eric's attention and without hesitation he acknowledged that it needed to be fixed. Things sometimes go wrong. It's how you respond to them that counts. The problem was fixed by the next day and the car looks beautiful. Eric also informed us that our battery was not testing well and noted that it should be a warranty service by the place that originally replaced it. So I brought it to the dealer. Turns out he was absolutely right and it was in fact the wrong battery--dropped in by the dealership's service department! His heads up was crucial to getting an issue fixed that could have left us stranded somewhere. So here's where the rubber meets the road (sorry): would I recommend Precision Transmissions even if the insurer wasn't footing the bill? Answer: you bet. It can be tough to find an excellent mechanic that you can trust in this town. I'll be referring folks to Precision Transmissions going forward. I'll update if anything goes wrong, but I don't think it will and I'm highly confident Precision would make it right even if something did. Precision Transmissions earned these 5 stars. read more

Be prepared to pay $25 for a covid cleaning fee on any work, including a state inspection. Other shops do not charge this. Cleaning makes sense. However, considering how many other businesses that interact with the public that have added covid precautions and not passed these expenses through to customers this was surprising. $25 seems excessive in any case. read more

I'd been burnt so often that I was skeptical but it hadn't been necessary. Eric was very friendly and honest. He worked hard to find the part that the actual dealer gave up on and kept me in the loop. The mechanic at the dealership told me that the part couldn't be found and that I ought to just buy another car from them. If you want to go to a repair shop where you never actually speak to a mechanic or technician you should come here. it's very modern, clean and accessible like a Starbucks. These things are obviously important to most people that's why modern establishments like this have so many good reviews. If you book an appointment expect to wait atleast an hour on arrival to speak to someone at the front desk who doesn't know anything about fixing cars. I didn't want to leave a bad review because it's a family owned business but it was a pretty Sh*tty experience. They charged me 500$ For a Diagnostic, just to say they couldn't figure out the issue. The worst part about the experience was the owner called me the same day at 3pm to say that I should pick up my car before 5pm when they close. When I told him I couldn't make it by 5pm because I work a 9-5, he threw a fit and threatened to put my car on the street to get towed.....I get it, it's all about business and At the end of the day, And my car was taking up space. like I said I was charged 500$ to fix an issue that took 50$ To fix myself. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because precision Transmission inspired me to work on my own car. I'll never take my car to a mechanic again, and if I do it definitely won't be precision transmission. They've performed two services and a repair for us and I couldn't be happier. Even when an issue persisted and they easily could have gone the "expert's route" and charged us some crazy amount for a made up repair - they didn't. I trust them 100% Lastly, be patient when you get there. They take extra good care of their employees and customer's safety, so the Covid protocol will cost you an extra 15 min waiting, sometimes. very pricy! I was charged $125 for synthetic oil change. They charged $25 for the sanitizing wipe they used on the steering wheel.

How ever the owner Eric called me and apologize . He said it was a mistake of his one employer with my dmv inspection.Employe didn't do his job well .which's very understandable ! It wasn't a great experience over there for me but I think i agree with Eric if it's a honest error I m ready to forget this experience. I read a bunch of reviews on this place and it did not disappoint! I got friendly and VERY helpful information and my car done up as quickly as they were able. They are interested in helping to educate their customers about their cars and let them know what parts do, how long they should last, what they should cost, what is wrong with them etc..Even though I am not all that ignorant about my car, I learned a couple of things that were invaluable to me. They offer much more than just transmissions. They are really nice people who are giving a really service. Not since my amazing Italian car mechanic have I been so happy with a garage! Usually going to a mechanic elicits a groan and a feeling similar to going to the DMV. NOT HERE! This was by far one of THE most POSITIVE experiences I've ever had with a mechanic. My boyfriend and I are here from DC to buy a car from a friend, and the other mechanic we made an appointment with turned us away. Despite it being a busy Monday, this business was pleasant on the phone, and fast! (They got us in within half an hour.) The car inspection was complete within two hours and the staff was knowledgeable, honest about the services rendered (which were very fairly and reasonably priced) and gave us great advice about our new car. I've had my car serviced here for a number of both serious and mundane reasons- honestly it's just that I feel super comfortable with the service and the price I am charged. There are things that are a challenge- there're a very few places to put your car when waiting for service, and the shop is small so there is not much room to wait as a person either. No hyperbole here. Eric is the best mechanic you will find. I live in Carroll Gardens and could easily go to any nearby mechanic. Instead I take my car 30 mins out of the way to Precision Transmission. Eric's shop does super high quality work. I have had both engine and body work done here. Probably four different visits. I love how transparent he is with the work that needs to be done. In fact, he'll offer to show you and give you the broken parts he replaced. Then he'll take the time to walk you through the itemized bill so you know exactly what you are paying for. I recently brought my vehicle here for a lot of body work. I had two accidents, both repaired at the same time. Eric went out of his way to fight the insurance companies for me. Phone call after phone call. He was not willing to accept after market or used parts. I needed a new door and Progressive kept trying to send used doors. He sent 3 doors back until he got the new one. To say Eric goes above and beyond would be an understatement. I snuck a photo of him as I was backing out of his garage onto busy Atlantic ave - because Eric stood in the rain and stopped traffic to make sure I get out safely.
