I own a 2017 Subaru Forester. For the longest time I used the dealer service at Koeppel Subaru, since I had bought the car from them. I finally lost my trust in them, having been treated vary badly and unprofessionally. Next I took the car for maintenance to Great Bear, on Kissena Blvd. in my neighborhood. The car was stalling when accelerating to enter the highway, a very dangerous situation. I also needed a new AC compressor. They charged me an exorbitant amount, but the car kept stalling, and the new, very expensive AC compressor did a poor job from the start. Isaac took care of the stalling problem, made my AC work as it should, performed regular maintenance, all that for a fraction of the price I was used to pay. My wife I I were treated in a very friendly and respectful way. Isaac is a very busy man, so don't expect a speedy resolution to your car problems or needed service. But he'll do the right job for the right price, and treat you the way a customer should. I highly recommend Isaac. I'll be his loyal customer for as long as own a car. read more

I got into a minor accident, which resulted in my car needing a new headlight and fender. I talked to Tim who updated me constantly and answered all my questions. He responded quickly and told me my car would be done earliest Monday night and latest Tuesday. From a friend's recommendation, I went to Issac for my engine noise issue. Issac greeted me with a smile and then told his told his worker to check my car out. Within 5 mins of checking it out the worker told Issac and Issac told me its a very minor problem. It is fixed! He said no charge. He did not want to charge or accept any money because all he added was power steering fluid to make the noise go away. He only accepted a small amount that would allow him to buy a coffee and a bagel because I insisted. The noise went away for good. Highly recommended! **But beware his shop is so highly recommended that there are lines down the block in the morning especially Saturdays. Be warned to drop off your car and have someone pick you up later in the day because waiting for it to be fixed maybe a while during a Saturday. Try weekdays instead. read more

I could sworn I've already written a review for Isaac's already. I brought my car here twice. The first time, I needed some body work done on my wife's car while she was away visiting her parents. It's a Mazda 2. Front and rear bumper paint is heavily chipped and scrated. There's even a hole in the front bumper from someone backing into it with their tow hitch. There was also a dent in the front fender. I was told from a friend that Isaac can take care of this for me. When I brought my car in and was greeted by Isaac for the first time, I knew right then and there that this could possibly be my new favorite go-to mechanic. He's a really charming fella, super nice guy and I can't say enough nice things about him as a mechanic and as person. When Isaac inspected the damages on our car, he assured me that it will look like new when he's done with it. I left my car there for a few days and he already completed the job before the weekend had started. When I went to pickup the car, the paint looked fresh. Silky smooth finish, no color distortion between the original paint from other parts of the car to the new painted bumpers. The new paint just looked shinier and felt smoother. The hole in the bumper was somehow patched up. I can barely tell that there was ever a hole there unless you look at the surface from a side angle with direct sunlight. Other body shops were quoting me much higher and wanted to replace the entire bumper but that's just wasn't in my budget. I just wanted that hole patched up and front and rear bumpers repainted so that it doesn't end up rusting over time due to the scratches and stuff. About 2 months after the paint job. I figure the paint cured long enough. I took the car the detail shop so they can detail the exterior of the car. The rest of the car's body needed some serious claying and compounding. When they completed the clay, compound, wax and glaze, the car looked absolutely beautiful. It looked like a brand new car. All of the surfaces was slick. The paint job was not perfect but for what he charged and considering that this car is not luxurious, it's our daily commuter car, Isaac did a great job making it look 10 times better than what it use to look like. Our second time around, my wife brought the car in for an oil change. The wait was about an hour because he was busy. But they did a full synthetic oil change for about $30 less than what we usually pay at quick lube spots or at Sears. Verdict - I can trust Isaac with my car and his price point is his strong suit. As much as I like the work done at Paul Petrone, they take an awful long time with your car and they're not cheap either. My other mechanic is on Sanford, they're cheap but they don't always do the job right and they are notoriously known for joy riding in your car and leaving a mess. At Isaac's, I can have peace in mind knowing my car will be in good hands and the job will be done properly. My next job will probably be a brake and rotor job, I'm most likely bringing my car back to Isaac and I'll provide you guys with an updated review. read more

My car was making clunking noises driving at low speeds. I left my car with Isaac in the morning to figure out the issue and they found out the problem was a bad sway bar link. There's such a thing? -Why, yes there is, Robin! i've been here a couple times in the past few years to have my jaloppy tuned up, leak patched up, transmission fixed, and some bodyshop work after killing bambi (i mean a baby deer) with my car. 1st things first - this is probably not the type of place you'll want to take your fancy new mercedes, suped up G35 coupe, or brand new honda accord. You have a dealer for that! This is where you take your car when you're a cheapass that drives a car that's no longer under warranty, for example my 2003 Ford Focus. aka: "my hooptie" Most recent visit: I had my "Check Engine" light come on last night and brought it over to see Isaac, he plugs in his gizmo to diagnose the issue, unplugs it and says to me, "It's the oxygen censor. There's no problem, keep driving!" He had reset whatever it was that triggered the Check Engine light and didn't charge me anything. last Summer: A few months back, my car was leaking green stuff. I brought it in and this other guy "Jim" takes a look and sees a plastic Y-shaped pipe (about the length of a drinking straw) has cracked. He tells me Ford charges $95 for the part and it's on backorder but in the mean time, he's assembled a couple of hoses into a T-shape and says, "You can bring it back tomorrow and we'll install it for you or you can just leave it like this, it'll run the same." So I left it and asked how much I owed him, he says, "no charge!" last Spring: Came in for a tune-up. had asked around and the best deal I could get for my hooptie seemed to be about $240, Isaac had it done for $233. Yea we're talking $7 here but at least you know he does it for cheap or for free . So you now ask yourself, "Is this place worth going?" read more

I've been going here for almost two years now, and I can't praise him enough. If your car doesn't need repair, Isaac will tell you. What I've been doing is going to my dealer from time to time for oil changes. If they bring any potential repairs to my attention, I take down the information and then I go see Isaac for a second opinion. Several times, he's told me that no repair was necessary. And my car hasn't broken down on the side of the road so it looks like he was right. :) I've also stopped by when one of my headlights was out. He replaced the bulb in a few minutes for no charge. I gave him a nice tip instead. Another time, I had busted a tail light. I bought the part myself and brought it to him. He installed it for no charge. Yet another time I blew out a tire and hobbled over to his shop. I thought I wouldn't get to work for a few hours, but he fixed so fast I was only a few minutes late. So I live in Brooklyn, and today I drove all the way to Isaac Auto in Flushing for an inspection. Why? Three days earlier I went to a mechanic in Brooklyn for an inspection, and he tells me I need new brake pads and new rotors; that's well over $500 of work. I'm no mechanic, but I know enough to know that's a lie. So I asked my friends to see if anyone know of an honest mechanic, and someone told me about Isaac Auto. So I drove all the way here today and inspected my car. And Isaac the mechanic told me my brake pads has over 50% capacity, and my rotors look brand new. Finally, an honest mechanic!
