Very happy with the service for my yearly inspecion. Went there dueing ope ing hours on a weekday. Mike took good care of me. Place is small but does the job and is kept clean. Drive into the shop is also great, I have steep ramps that can potentially scratch the lower part of the front bumper. My 2015 wrx enjoyed it's stay there. Will definitely return for other services. I don't know if Mike is still the owner but my dad knew his dad and I had my older cars serviced with him, but somehow an old customer suddenly isn't worth anything just because they got a new car in 2016 and hadn't needed anything serviced until now. So just because I haven't needed anything done to my NEW car in the last few years makes me no longer an "old" or important customer DESPITE past services I had done. Also gets customer shamed by getting told "if you've been going somewhere else this whole time why are you coming back now" Because I'm really going to wait hours for yearly inspections when other people have more pressing issues to fix at a mechanics. And here I was recommending people to this place due to "amazing" customer service. Customer shaming just because I don't own a run down car that needs services for every little thing and prioritizes other customers just because I haven't been there in a few years, isn't the kind of place I'd want to get my car serviced. I've always been a long time advocate of taking my car to the BMW dealership over outside shops, but after my warranties ran out, the cost became too much to handle. I was recommended to Matrix Auto by a friend who told me Matrix Auto mechanics are very well versed and knowledgeable with BMWs - I've had a two very positive experiences. The first was for a basic inspection - I pulled my car right up to the garage and was taken care of immediately. Although I passed, the mechanic was honest and let me know that my brakes were wearing thin and I should consider having them replaced soon. Months later I went back for an oil change and rear brake replacement. Since there was no appointment needed, but the recommendation to bring it in early, I took my car around opening time. If you choose to wait the waiting area is intimate, but there is seating and there are snacks to munch on. Instead of waiting at the shop (thinking it would take a fair amount of time from my past experiences at BMW), I decided to walk over to Main Street to grab Starbucks - I had just enough time to sit down, eat and do a little browsing on my phone before I received a phone call that my car was ready to go. Pretty exciting news, right? Well, the whole walk back I was worried about the cost - needless to say I was shocked that my bill was significantly less than the usual BMW prices, more than three times less to be exact. I think the 5-Stars are well deserved for both pricing, honesty and efficiency - but most of all for turning me into a believer of small auto shops. read more

Have to say that in a city where most mechanics are not the most honorable people in the world you sometimes come across an anomaly - and that is Mike at Matrix. I took my car in because I knew my axle boot was ripped (advised by dealer) and wanted to get it fixed prior to trading the car in. Mike looked at it and when i explained my plan on trading the car in in a month or so he said don't even bother spending the money because it won't make a difference with the trade in. I am sure 9 out of 10 other mechanics would have happily taken my money! I proceeded with getting my nys inspection done and was out the door in 30 minutes from the moment I got there. I have been going to different mechanics for the past 10 years. I will say Mike is the only mechanic i will recommend to any friends with confidence. He is honest and professional! He really knows what he is talking about. He might not be the cheapest around town, but his service qualify is more then the price. Remember the saying that you get what you pay for. I had a old Camry before that was running hight RPM when started in the cool weather. The RPM won't come down until 10 min later. I brought it to different mechanics. They all said that my car was old, nothing could be done. I believed them, until i found Mike. Mike checked the car and told me where the problem was and fixed it in less then an hour. A no bullshit Mechanic. A genuine certified Toyota/Lexus technician with all the latest technology to diagnose your car properly without trial by error. I met this guy by being referred by Sparkles. I went to sparkles for an oil change and my oil pan was a little gnarled up and they didn't want to remove my oil plug and than possibly not be able to put it back. They sent me to matrix. At the time I had just purchased a 1991 Toyota Supra Turbo which i thought was in great shape. I went into the shop and mention i wanted to hook the car up and do all the maintenace on whatever needed to be done. I even wanted to put a bigger turbo and a 3inch exhaust, we're talking thousands of dollars in work. Within 5 minutes looking over my car he said change the wheel bearings and drive it till it dies. Turns out the car had been demolished in a previous accident and was mickey mouse repaired. The fact that this stranger shot me so straight was amazing. he changed my oil without any problem with my plug, took care of my wheel bearings. I spent maybe $400. Sure as the sun rises that car took a crap on me within the year. The shop gets very busy so its best to call before hand or set up an appointment. When the guy changes your oil he checks everything on your car adds necessary fluids and even fills your windshield washer fluid. read more
