I first went to L&D AutoTech when there was a strange noise coming from my car when it started. It had something to do with the belts. They were really nice and fixed it right away. I have gotten my car inspected at L&D. I have also gotten a couple of other things done. I love my car. It is not fancy, it gets me where I need to go and it is reliable. Recently, I got in my car, I put the key in, and it did not start. I was pretty pissed off. I took the battery and carried it to L&D. They told me I should have called. They tested the battery and it seemed fine. Then they drove me to my car, worked on the car, figured out the problem and left and came back with a new battery. Then they took the car to the shop and made sure other things were taken care of. They also changed my oil. No work that was done without my approval and nothing was pressured. I have represented these guys on business ventures, and sometimes, when you know people in other contexts, you can be disappointed. This is one of those unique situations where I can recommend someone to my mechanic without hesitation. I have recommended them to several people I know and each has been extremely happy. They don't just make me look good, they really fix stuff. Sometimes, I bet they are annoyed by the crazy situations I create with my car, but they fix it each and every time I manage to do something batmanish. The other day, I was in the shop with my car and they were fixing it and I was sitting in the waiting area with other customers and it was almost like a cult meeting. I have never met a group of people so happy to get their cars fixed. I find L&D to be pretty inexpensive compared to other places and they are pretty honest. I have never known them to cut corners. Cons: They don't serve coffee while you wait, though there is a TV. I don't really drink coffee. However, I don't like just writing nice things, it gets to people's heads. Addition: A friend and fellow customer just reminded me that once I was stuck at L&D and while they were fixing the car, they gave me some of their lunch. L&D has really helped keep my car in good shape so that I can use it to get around from Court to Court. read more

I have had many issues with mechanics in the past and most will sell you something that you do not need and keep your car for days to make it look good. I was referred to L & D multiple times by very reliable people and after not listening numerous times I finally had no hope and went to get one of my cars serviced. The car wasn't running at all. Would turn on and randomly stop while I was driving. I was given the wrong diagnostics numerous times from numerous mechanics. When I went to L&D they knew the problem right away. They fixed it the same day. Lou And David are great people. I have brought in multiple cars since and haven't had any issues at all. They are very helpful and honest and are care of everything in a timely manner. read more

About a year ago was told to wait an hour then after waiting was told they're closing early. No class and they lie like cowards

Very trustworthy place and owner. Luis has been in the business for decades and he and his crew know what they're doing; my car was fixed quickly and well as far as I can tell. He is also very kind, he waited with me and chatted with me for 15 minutes while I waited for a Lyft, then went out in the rain to flag down the Lyft and make sure I got into the car safely (I'm pregnant). When I picked up my car he had done a full wash, inside and out, and a small cosmetic fix for free. Excellent customer service, I will definitely go there again. read more

They have also been extremely reasonable with their pricing and very honest with explaining the conditions of your car. Definitely a 5 Star operation. Open 7 days a week, the mechanics know their business inside and out. They are so much more reasonable in price than taking ones car into a dealership either for a simple oil change or a major service on a Mercedez Benz They have the equipment to do wheel alignment on a BMW, Chevy or Ford Recommend them very highly! read more

Worst customer service I bought a car battery from this place 5 months back while purchasing the battery from them they gave me a year warranty on the battery. For past few days my car was not starting right away and sometimes I needed jump to start the car. So I went to my mechanic and he tested my battery and found weak charge and told me that the battery is not holding enough charge and suggested me a replacement since I have 1 year warranty on my battery I went back to L&D auto tech for a replacement battery. L&D auto tech customer is the worst in New York they were very very rude to me. The guy took the battery out of my car and put aside and kicked it he was just mean, they were acting like I am trying to take a free battery. I told them about my issues with the battery but they were not listening to me, I also asked them to show me the voltage on the replacement battery on multimeter and he gave me a mean look and told me if I come back in few months after this replacement L&D auto tech will not change my battery. This is the worst customer service I ever had in my life, first these people make a promise then they do not keep their words. I do not recommend any one to go to this place. read more

I am so glad I found this place! Yesterday, I stopped in with my car because I had both my headlight and tail light out on the same side. I tried to replace the headlight bulb on my own, but the latch to the hood of my car was broken and therefore my hood would not open at all. It was mid day, extremely hot out, and L&D was packed. They had so many customers that I couldn't even park on their front driveway, where you normally pull in. I spoke with David and he right away brought my car inside the shop to take a look. I definitely didn't think they would have time that day to fix my car, since it was so busy there. But he had about 3 men working on my car, trying to open the hood for about a half hour. They successfully were able to open the hood and replaced the mechanism for the latch, replaced my headlight and also replaced a blown fuse in the my tail light. They did a great job and they were very professional and fast. Perfect location too, right off of Northern Boulevard near the Grand Central. Highly recommend their shop! read more
