i pulled up next to this shop today because I was going to see if the place next door could fix my tire. My grandfather ran into the tire place and immediately after he entered the store, an old man came out of "fantastic auto repair" and started to yell about how I couldnt park there. Whenever I tried to explain that my grandfather would move the car once got back, he yelled over me without actually listening. I wouldn't trust any of possessions in his shop with the aggression that he was throwing at me because I pulled in a few feet too far left. And then once he saw that bigger, older men were coming out with me after I ran inside to get my grandfather, he changed his tune. If you're considering using this shop, make sure you have a conversation with the mechanics who will be working on your car. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to leave my car with a bully who only picks on people he views as less powerful. read more

It's 15 degrees outside and my 6 year old car battery died out on me. (I know, 6 years is way too long..). I got a flight to catch in 3 hrs and need a new battery ASAP. Swung by 2 Autozones - long wait for rep, indifferent service, one can't do battery install til 5 hrs from now, another needs 6 hrs. Luckily I came to Fantastic. They tested my alternator to ensure that voltage is being generated properly, and swapped battery for new one. In and out in 20 minutes! And the cost of battery was 20% less than Autozone for same Duralast Gold. I think I have my new favorite mechanic\shop. read more

Greatest experience I have ever had with auto body shop!!! I woke up to a smashed fender one morning and drove my car right into Fantastic Auto, I was soooo upset but from that moment on the experience was nothing but 5 stars. Neal looked at my car and got the ball rolling right away, he was so accommodating to my needs, I had to be at work that morning and the had arranged a Enterprise rental car within an hour to pick me up from the the shop. Also they kept me updated throughout the whole process. Maya the front desk manager was phenomenal, her customer service was above and beyond. She was so patient with me addressed all my questions and concerns. In a nutshell, they work was quick and efficient and my car came back flawless . Great experience! This is my second time coming here. Astonished they didn't have any reviews on yelp, i had to help my self to be their first review! My first visit: My fender got smashed into by some guy who hit and ran. So i came here and they did such a great job. Its hard to find a good auto body shop in brooklyn but this guy is so fair. He charged me pretty good. The best part was that he did a seamless job. Quality work for a fair price. Second and most recent visit: My side mirror got smashed off in the middle of the night. So i paid Nathan a visit. I told him i couldn't leave the car over night cause i needed it for work. So he told me drop it off at 10 am and he would have it back to me by 2 or 3. I arrived at three and it was all ready to go! Again great work, and reasonable price. Not too overpriced but not suspiciously low. This was where i fell in love: When i was done i told him that i had this annoying ding in my bumper. I asked for an estimate so he came out to take a look. He yelled for his worker in russian and some guy came running out of the shop. All of a sudden the guy is under my car and he took out the dent in my bumper and didn't charge me extra! This was an amazing experience and I'm happy i came here before this guy gets too popular. Ill tell you this. Prices are reasonable, work is quality. The owner Nathan isn't the most friendly looking guy, but he's that brooklyn russian type. You can tell he's a softy on the inside. I've been coming here with the fiance for my annual car inspections and others things he needed in the past. We both had some things that needed taking care of on the car so we decided to go here. Natan is the owner and Eka (this is how I am spelling it..) is the go-to guy for us. He's the one I spoke with each time I needed to come in. The fiance came in here needing to do some body work and I had an issue with the air conditioning in my car. Turned out to be a real slow leak that required replacement of my condenser because the freon in my car ran out within weeks of being refilled. After whatever parts that needed to be ordered arrived, we were able to drop off our cars and retrieve them the same day. We got very fair prices for both jobs (on separate occasions). I am happy with this place and glad that it's not too far from home. I'd recommend this place! :) read more

I cannot say enough about how amazing this crew is! This will be a different review of sorts, since they didn't actually repair a car for us, but helped us for HOURS try to save a tiny kitten. This is a testament to the type of people who own, run and work at this shop!! A few nights ago, a kitten rescue went wrong and the tiny little girl, ended up in the dashboard of our car somewhere, lost. After struggling to find her, we reached out to Arthur at Fantastic, who quickly advised he would help us free the little one and knew where she would be. He came back to the shop after hours and let us bring our car in. We hoped it would be an easy, 1,2,3, but this little one was lightening fast and escaped into the garage when they popped down the glove box. Not only were there about 15 cars in there, she happened to be the color of the room! Neal, the owner and his partner and Arthur searched for hours with us to try to find the little one. After we failed to locate her and it was feeling hopeless, the crew waited for us to get traps to set in hopes of catching her overnight. When morning came, we got a call from the crew that we had successfully trapped the 4-5 week old kitten and she was safe!!!! We appropriately named her Houdini, since she was a brilliant escape artist! The team at Next Chance Rescue and with the help of AMA Animal Rescue and the guys at Fantastic, we have now got our little girl in a clean and safe environment and out of the cold. Animal Lovers.... these guys care! Not just about cars, but about the little ones and this proves what amazing people they are!! Houdini thanks you the most!!!! Great auto shop! I had few things done here and it is always the best! They check your car thoroughly. Val is one of the new additions the team and he does a great job. He even sent me the pictures of problematic areas of my car and explained the issues. Also, the services fees are very reasonable! I thought I would pay more by getting done a lot but I was very surprised to pay much less than I expected. They are located across the street from Retro Fitness, they fix it while you work out in the gym. :) One of the conveniences! I am very pleased with the service and will come again. read more

The guy came to inspect a car that customer wanted to buy from us and said that oil is watery. Experienced mechanic should know If water gets into oil it becomes milky, not watery. That could've been his opinion, but not the truth. They told the customer (for whatever reason) not to buy it, which is fine with us since we sold it to another customer for more money and he is happy with it. I wouldn't rely on this shop and would stay away from it. Couple of days later we got a call from them saying that its childish to leave bad reviews like that, that they did what they had to do. Now We got an email that they asked Yelp to remove this review. We are just expressing our opinion and want people to know about our bad experience with them. read more

I've never written a review on yelp before but after finding Fantastic auto repair on here, I had to let everyone know about my experience. I am a college student at a school close to this auto shop and as I got into my car on day after class to head home my car would not start. I figured it was the battery so I tried to jump it but no luck. I needed a tow, so I called a few places that I had found on yelp with good review but none of them could help me the day of. Desperate I tired calling Fantastic even though it only had 2 reviews. They guy that picked up told me he could help me and send a towing truck to get my car and even quoted me over the phone. Once at the shop I the guy recognized me as the person he had spoken to over the phone and welcomed me into the office. They took my car down, moved it into the garage and began to look at it. He told me they would check some stuff out to make sure it was the battery, that way I don't just waste money fixing something that didn't need fixing. After about 5 minutes they determined it was the battery and began giving me options on what i could do. Eventually I decided on a brand new battery at a very reasonable price and they mechanic got to work as soon as the battery arrived. I was in and out within 30 to 45 minutes. As i write this review it has been about a month and the battery is still running great. The reason for I recommend this auto shop is not because they changed my battery, any rookie mechanic can do that with their eye closed. It was the customer service they provided especially for such a small, non-franchised, shop. Not only did the mechanic swap my battery quickly but he also noticed oxidation over my battery terminal and took the time too remove the terminal to clean, brush and fix it so my new battery wouldn't have similar issues. Didn't even tell me he did it, I noticed him doing it before the battery even got in. They went so far as to DRIVE ME TO THE NEAREST ATM because I needed cash and it was pouring rain outside. FINAL THOUGHTS: Is this the biggest garage in Brooklyn? No. But they know their stuff, their prices are very reasonable, and most importantly they care about their customers. I took their business card and would easily recommend them to a friend. read more

After my passenger side was dented in a parking lot, I got quotes from several body shops. This guy undercut all of them, just because he appreciated that I took care of my car (or try to) and for that price, the work was quality. He warned me that the paint would not quite match, but for the life of me I can't see the difference. I sincerely hope nothing like that happens to my car again anytime soon, but if it does, this is the first place I'm coming. Highly recommend! read more
