When my go to emissions station closed down for renovation, I asked around and was directed to this place by other locals. The place is very clean with a huge waiting area that has magazines and a TV for your entertainment. Checking in was pretty straight forward and my car was taken foe inspection right away. What I liked about the place is that they have a TV that shows what the inspector is doing with the car, and was surprised how busy that whole activity is. It took about 15-20 minutes and my car was brought to the entrance, all warmed up and delivered with a smile. For the professionalism, convenience, cleanliness and promptness of service, this place is highly recommended. It is a tire shop, and may give them a chance when my car is due for tires.

I understand that, that's labor, but from everything I've read online, it could take 9 hours tops to replace, including bleeding the hydraulic lines. ~$900 in labor. They then charged over $900 for the clutch repair kit - on average, online, I can buy one for $300. THEN, as I get the call yesterday that the car is ready, they tell me they went ahead and replaced the front passenger control arm for $300. I NEVER ASKED THEM TO DO THAT! Even the gas they sell was 20 cents higher than the rest of the stations in the area. Repair was good, price was not!

Well it was half the price of Volvo, the appointment started on time which allowed the wife to cross the street and relax with a coffee & pastry at The Tusk & cup. Also just bought 4 new tires from TireRack.com and they are listed as a premium installer so had the tires shipped to them directly. Frankly speechless that the conversation from there degraded into a lecture that at present, only "one guy" is working there, and that for the "last 18 months" they have only taken 8:30 am appointments for drop offs (and yes, as a quite regular customer, I am painfully aware of that fact, as I have twice left one of my cars for an entire day for 30-45 minutes worth of work during that time...) Joe getting on the phone querying why I was giving his "staff" a hard time followed by patronizing comments sure did not help matters. Net, net: while Tire Rack still considers Precision a "top rated" installer--after today's interaction, I can only conclude that Precision: 1) does not really need Tire Rack's business 2) gives little consideration to regular customers in spite of circumstances 3) could not be bothered to accommodate a nearly 20 year customer for a simple 2-3 hour window at any point during the next three business days but instead openly asked me "to do what I need to do," engaging (with pleasure, it appeared) in business prevention. I can only surmise that after nearly forty years in business, Joe no longer cares.... As an aside, staff was happy to assist in loading tires into my car when I arrived...considering TWO people were willing to all of a sudden help (and a third one was having coffee outside...so much for only having "one guy"...), surely someone could have figured out how to install two tires while I waited (locally, patiently for up to two hours per my suggestion at ANY time that suited them).

This week was the 4th time over the years I've brought a car to Jerry's for a possible transmission…read moreissue. Our Jeep was shifting gears a bit off, and we weren't sure what was going on. Rob and Jerry checked it out promptly, and Rob called a couple of hours later to let me know it was a false alarm. Not only that, but he took the time to give me a detailed education about this car and transmission which will be extremely helpful in the future in deciding how long to keep this car on the road. Could not have been more informative! PLUS - he refused to take any money since he didn't actually need to do any repairs! Transmissions are not something I (or most people) know a lot about. If I was told it needed expensive repairs, I wouldn't have known any different. You can trust them!!! Jerry, Rob and crew are good people. They are competent, professional, prompt, reasonable and just plain nice. You can't go wrong here! p.s. over the years with those three previous cars, two of them had real transmission issues and Jerry recommended NOT repairing them; the third was also a false alarm. So - they have never actually billed me for anything. Scary honest people!

The Hyundai dealership noted that I needed to get my transmission serviced a few months back (car is around 78K, and I had already serviced it once before around 55K). I was skeptical, so I wanted a second opinion. I called Jerry's and they explained the policy- bring it in early morning, give them time to look at it and we'll go from there. They called around lunch with good news- nothing wrong with the car! I was curious why I would be told that and the simple answer was, " they wanted to make some $$$ off of you, but your car is fine." I will only go here for transmission issues from now on. I just wish they did more than just transmissions. Rare to find honest, affordable mechanics these days.
