They completed the repairs faster than I thought possible. Everything was clean and I couldn't be more pleased.

There is nothing fun about being sideswiped on the highway and having all the drivers side panels involved, plus the side mirror and rear bumper. Thankfully no injuries. My also excellent insurance company ,Travelers, sent me to Manhattan Auto Care on Delancey Street. In a little over a week my car looked brand new . They even cleaned and vacuumed the car better than I have ever done. They handled all the insurance directly with my insurance and the other guy. read more

Body work service and repairs were excellent! Service is friendly, courteous, and responsive. We have had two accidents repairs done by Richard and his team and both times they were prompt, work was professionally done, and we were fully satisfied with the results. They are preapproved by USAA which makes the whole claim process easier and quicker. Highly recommend! read more

Over time, some businesses change and lose their customer service and the quality of their work. This is not the case with M.A.C. Earlier this year I had to come back for another repair for some damage that my parking garage did to my bumper and tailgate - and I the pleasure of working with Richard again. Everyone from Jocelyn at the front office to the gentleman who worked on my car were completely professional and made me feel like I was in good hands. They even went above and beyond and let me bring back my car this week to do some touchup work that I didn't have time for them to do, the first time around. They even waited around since I was running late so that I could get my car today! I'm very grateful for businesses like this that still exist and put the customer first. read more

A positive experience with punctual and personal attention. Work completed promptly and professionally with informative updates.

If you're a New Yorker, you need a few things in your life: You need a bodega with a great egg sandwich, a solid neighborhood bar, a reliable barber, and if you have a car, you need a place like this. 4X I have been to M. A. C and four times I have been glad this is my place. At a fraction of the cost of a dealership, i get more reliable service, quality body work - (my volvo always looks like new) and quick and clean navigation of the claims process. I'm not surprised - a veteran who served his country and his city runs the place and also has a valued automobile himself, so he knows the importance of body repair done right. I won't go anywhere else while I live in NYC read more

This shop is as dishonest as they come. Shop around. Their quotes will be over double what any other shop charges. They exist to cheat customers and insurance companies. Full stop. They do it with a smile on their face, but don't be fooled. Poor communication, dishonest business practices, don't honor their word. Avoid at all costs. There are better choices out there. read more

First and foremost I want to say thank you to the owner for helping me out and taking my car in for service on short notice on a hot summer day. Very kind gentleman who was very thorough and played no games. My car stalled out nearby and one of his workers were nice enough to help me move it to safe spot. After moving my car and speaking with the owner on the service of my car his customer service and attention to detail was flawless and was able to order the part for my car to begin working on it at a fair value. I'm happy to know my car is in good hands with a shop that's been around for a long time with experienced mechanics and pleasant staff at the front desk. It's hard to find good people these days and they came through, pure diamond in the rough! read more

Manhattan Auto Care is the only place I'll be taking my car for repairs. An attendant in my parking garage scraped and dented the entire right side of my brand new vehicle (all side panels) and admitted liability. They offered to pay for the repair, and I chose Manhattan Auto Care because of the glowing reviews and references. And I do not regret my decision at all. They were professional from the beginning (especially Richard) and truly experts in this industry (it really is a form of art). Most importantly, they did a superb job and brought my vehicle to perfect form -- neither I nor my family members could tell the car was ever damaged. Many places get the paint color wrong (even for common colors as mine), but they did an amazing job matching the color, and I could not be happier. Top notch service and work. Five stars! Unfortunately, another attendant at my garage damaged my car again! I will be bringing my car to Manhattan Auto Care again without hesitation. read more

So my husband's Honda CR-V was involved in an accident and he brought it to Manhattan auto care to repair. What a great decision. From beginning to end the repairs were done professionally and our car looks better than ever. Jocelyn at the counter was nice. Richard and his head mechanic took care of our car and addressed any concerns my husband had. A good independent mechanic is hard to find especially in Manhattan. Thank you MAC. read more

Manhattan Auto Care was very fast and efficient during the process. The work they did was great. I was taken off guard about their policies regarding the deductible and estimate. Had that part of the process gone smoother, I would have given them 5 stars. I do think that the employees (Richard & Naisha) seemed as if they never took a day off and were available anytime I had questions. They returned calls promptly. It was such a convenience not to have to drive to the outer boroughs to get body work done. I would certainly consider them again should I need body work. read more

Terrible shop ... took my care there to get repaired from a theft. They were supposed to check and inspect the vehicle... it was not done . parts put on the car are are old parts from a junk yard. It now has electric issues and catalytic converter is missing on the vehicle. I do not recommend if I could give them a lower score I would . Very unprofessional and lazy shop. read more

I don't usually leave Yelp reviews before the job is finished but when I dropped my 2009 Audi S5 off this morning at Manhattan Auto Care, I was so impressed with the reception and customer service I felt compelled to do so. Every aspect of my interaction with either the assistant or the owner, Richard, was top notch. I am confident that their work will be outstanding and my car will never look better. BTW, Richard is a veteran as well as a retired NYPD Lieutenant, and I always like to give my business to those who serve both our communities as well as our country. Quite possibly the WORST customer service I've received in my ENTIRE life!!! I stopped by Manhattan Auto Care seeking an estimate to have my rims repaired and was met by a surly ankle-biter named Richard Gallo. He quoted me $160 per wheel, which I was ready to accept. However, since the $640 would be coming out of my own pocket, I inquired if he could do the job for $150 per wheel. Instead of saying no, he barked, "I'm not doing it!" and stomped away like a toddler. I assume Gallo's not as petulant when bilking insurance companies, but he appears to have nothing but contempt for potential customers. DO NOT waste your time and money patronizing this business!!! Update: After leaving Manhattan Auto Care, I took my car to Hunts Point where they fixed my rims for only $250, saving me almost $400 bucks! Side note: Richard, like me, is a former cop, yet he never learned to treat people with Courtesy, Professionalism and Respect. read more

My Honda pick-up was side swiped by a guy in a stolen car. Everyone at Manhattan Auto Care was professional, courteous, and easy to work with. I brought in my vehicle for a body damage estimate per directions from my insurance carrier. Prior to the inspection and quote of my damage, the gentleman who serviced me asked when I would like them to take care of the body work. The place is a little office but part of a parking lot and I was a bit skeptical of the type of work they will perform. After a lengthy discussion, I said my preference is to use another mechanic for body work and after I said that the gentleman became ver unprofessional and short. During the discussion, the gentleman asked me if I had a deductible. After stating I have a $1,000 deductible, the gentleman said that the cost will certainly exceed $1,000, but after I refused to use them for body work, the quote that they sent my insurance company was conveniently under $1,000. This place is very shady. Please be careful. read more

Had squeaky brakes and a brake warning light, altho I had them checked out somewhere else just a few weeks ago and told there was no problem. Owner Richard warned me that the charge would be $110 just to look at it, even if nothing was wrong. He came outside and after eyeballing my tires, he said in his experience based on my story, it's dirty brakes and if he got his guys to do diagnostics, he'd have to charge me $110 and probably end up telling me there's nothing to fix. He then went inside to get something and on a rainy day sprayed some brake cleaner on all 4 of my brakes for free. Wouldn't take a tip. Said, "it's not the way I live my life". We should all live life so generously. On my drive home, there was no brake warning light. For those reviews about him being gruff, he's a retired police Lieutenant, so probably has earned the right to expect to be treated with respect. read more

Where to start... After a nice golf outing followed by a lovely trip visiting family in Long Island, we noticed that someone had sideswiped our car, which actually, was a borrowed car from our in-laws. Yikes. There was an obvious scratch on the side of the car and also a dent in the front as well. It just so happened that my in-laws were also preparing to trade the car in for a newer model that week. Panicked set in instantly when we discovered the very noticeable damage to the car and my next (panicked) call was to Manhattan AutoCare. The receptionist was so incredibly nice, which is rare in Manhattan especially when temperatures exceed 85 degrees, and explained that I should probably just bring the car in now if I was able. When I actually got to the office, Richard (the owner) came out to inspect the car and while I waited to hear the exorbitant estimate, I was surprised to receive an estimate that was actually affordable. I had to hug him to not break out in tears. I would also like to note that this is not an exaggeration, at all. Richard and his team fixed the Subaru that day, within hours, detailed the car and actually suggested an option that would be less expensive as it related to the repairs. When I tell you that the car looked good as new, believe me. I was so incredibly grateful that I had to send lunch. They truly are a really nice group of people and I'm glad that we have a place in the neighborhood that does quality work without breaking wallets, with an awesome attitude. We're bringing our other car here as well! read more

My car was vandalized while parked in Manhattan. Dropped off the car and it looks brand new. They even washed the car!

Manhattan Auto Care deserves 5 stars. Richard, the owner, is a man of few words but is a straight shooter. I haven't had to deal with an auto body shop in a long time and was expecting the worst. Instead, Richard and his staff took great care of me and my car and made the process very pleasant. They gave me an estimated completion date and sent me text messages every day to update me on the car's progress. The car was completed on time, and the work was flawless. If you're looking for an auto body shop in Manhattan, look no further. Manhattan Auto Care will take care of you and your car! read more

We had a repair that was coming through our insurance company; our insurer sent a list of places where we could get the repair done, and Manhattan Auto Care was the closest place on the list and seemed solid enough. Well, my experience was even better than "solid enough". It was easy, honest, straightforward, and quick -- and an excellent job on the repair itself. Further, our insurer screwed up a bit of the business / payment / red tape part of this process, but Richard, the owner/manager of the shop who I dealt with directly, masked-up but safely face-to-face, handled it with ease and understanding. I would recommend Manhattan Auto Care on Delancey Street to anyone and will be returning to them for our auto care needs. I might add that I grew up in a midwestern town where my family had a friendly mechanic down the street whose shop handled all of our auto needs. My parents have known "Ken" for 40 years -- he was our go-to automotive savior and, as my octogenarian parents are still driving and are too stubborn for new cars, they therefore still make frequent trips to Ken's shop. They've grown old together! I feel as if Manhattan Auto Care on Delancey St. could be that kind of place (if my own family stays in this area). Richard could be our "Ken." Straightforward, honest, and no-nonsense. Five stars. I'd deliver ten stars, if I could. read more

I had some issues with my brakes and was able to be seen by Richard and his staff right away. A lot of auto shops are closed as a result of COVID, and I am so thankful that these guys are around! I had good experience at Manhattan Autocare and will come back. Availability: Best part about Manhattan Autocare is that Richard, owner, is available to help early in the morning when I usually have car emergency.
