Last year, when I came here for an inspection, was told I needed two new tires. I was skeptical, but I replaced the two tires and passed my inspection. This year, they said I needed two new tires again in addition to a $500 brake fix. Everything would have cost approximately $1,000 so I just left. Today, I went to another repair shop where I paid $37 and passed my inspection. The other shop didn't notice any tire or brake problems. I drive about 4,000 miles a year locally. I never have any warning lights, engine check lights, or any other issues with my car. Beware if you go here and they tell you this and that needs to be replaced. I just hate it when they hostage your car because you will fail inspection if you dont buy their overpriced tire. Only the side tread on one of the tires was probably close or a little off requirements, and the car is three years old and not driven much. The other treads are perfectly fine only the side tread is maybe questionable. The old guy there even said why didn't you pass the car inspection. The young one insisted one of my tires side tread is no good. Very unfortunate how they hustle you. I told them to fail the inspection over the phone after they gave me this spiel. For repairs that take longer they're usually spot-on regarding time estimates. grateful that they provided me with quick service today for something as simple as changing my brake light. it was one sided and required a screwdriver. the owners seemed kind enough but i believe i was overcharged. $10 for the new bulb and $40 for the service for a total of $54. on the bill it says i was charged for a full hour of labor for what took 5 minutes. sort of left feeling uneasy. will drive further to my old mechanic in the future. read more

Don't go this place unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount for an improper repair. My mom brings her car to this place for a coolant leak. They charge her over a grand to fix the leak, they supposedly "fixed" it saying one of the hoses near the intake plenum. Okay that's fine but after aren't you supposed to bleed the system for air and check if the coolant is properly circulating? Well after the repair, my mom was complaining of no heat. I tell my mom she should go back to the shop saying coolant runs tothe heater core so it's a problem they may have caused, whether they didn't properly flush the vehicle or due to a restricted core, whatever it is it was a problem formed after the repair. And she tells me today they're trying her it's regarding another issue asking for more money to diag, and also charging a 150 just to remove a dragging undercover. I had gone to Lexus of Queens for repair. They wanted to charge me $7000. I told him get the car ready I'm taking it. When I got into the car the lights that were on on the dashboard endpoin. They have been on. My friend told me to bring the car to Danny's auto care. I he looked at the car and told me there's nothing wrong with your car. They also didn't even charge me. Also I had my car repaired after a collision sent by Geico at Wayside on Queens Boulevard. Danny's auto care told me an assortment of repairs were not done. My first experience with this place was over the phone. I was in need of someone to check my brakes but they were closing. They were friendly and kind over the phone and offered to help me the next day. When I came the next day, I was greeted by someone in a friendly manner. I felt welcomed and felt as if I could trust this place with my car. They diagnosed my issues in a timely fashion and were straight to the point about what needed to be done. As a female with little knowledge of cars, it is hard to find places where the mechanics don't convince you to do more then what is needed. These gentleman were respectful and honest. Very dishonest. Especially if you're a woman. First time for just an annual inspection but they said i need this and that to be fixed - so I said yes and told my husband later and he was furious for all the BS they told me about new parts that our car needs when he JUST got them fixed like a month ago. And my husband said they over charged everything they've done on the car. Second time around, I had my husband called Danny's to get a quote for the fix before I went in and drop off the car. I went into the shop expecting what my husband told me about the price. Then they pretended that they're looking at the computer and then said "oh yea, it's extra $10, the guy quoted wrong to your husband. Everyone here knew except for him." Then everyone was like "yea yea, we all know" The acting was so bad that I called them out right then and there and he finally gave me the price they told my husband. Seriously? for $10? worth it?! They're VERY dishonest - more like taking advantage of - from Danny. The other guys are just trying to listen to their boss and not get in trouble so I can't blame them. Brought vehicle in for inspection, and was told I needed to change rotors and brake pads to pass the inspection. I was told the rotors needed to be changed because of the rust around it, but in fact, that's normal for rusting to occur there. The rotors were not warped and did not make any squeals as I drove. I opted to just change the pads instead. I was quoted $300 for the brakes, which I agreed. Then when I went to pay, i asked about the 10% yelp discount. I was told the $300 was already after a discount, and he was going to honor the 10% but charge me regular price, which was more than the $300 he originally quoted me. I wouldn't recommend this shop, as the owner gave a very dishonest vibe, and doesn't appear too trustworthy. read more

Danny's was the second shop I brought it to for an opinion. His opinion was the same as their first shop. On that very same day I got a call from a friend, whose friend was selling her 2010 Corolla. I asked Danny what he thought, drove to Freeport, checked it out, drove back to Danny's, he checked it, and said I got a very good buy. I took my 2013 Subaru Impreza in for some minor fixes. I've taken it to a different auto shop in LIC where they told me I need to replace my control arm and both rear tires, and quoted me over $1300 for the whole thing! I'm so glad I came to Danny's instead. He checked out my control arm and said it's still fine, but suggested me to replace my brakes. I drive a lot for work everyday, so I'm sure this is just normal wear and tear. I've also complained to Danny that I hear flapping sound coming from underneath my car, and turns out it was a plastic piece that came loose. He quickly got some bolts and fixed it right away for me. Finally when he gave me the final quote, not only it's few hundred cheaper than the other shop, he also honored the 10% off on Yelp. The whole experience was great. I took my car to get a diagnostic. First they charged me $130 for the diagnostic. They found that all the previous parts and work I had done to my car was done badly. They told me I need everything from break pads (which I had replaced new less than 5 months ago) to a condencer. Wanted to charge me separate service charge for each items. $2500 later, I take my car and leave. I live on 48 Avenue. As I am driving around the block to go home with my 11 year old son in the backseat, my tire falls off. When I got out of the car, I see all the bolts missing. As I call them to tell them what happens and I walk down the street to see where the bolts went, I find all 4 of them at the end of the block. They send their guys to bolt up the tire. I just get a simple, I'm sorry. You would think I would get a follow up call from the owner of the shop to make sure we are ok. They didn't ask if we were ok at all. We could have easily gotten in an accident and maybe got hurt in the process. All I can say is my son is traumatized. I guess in their hurry to get home cause they close at 1, they bolted only 3 tires and not the fourth. I recommend you do not go to have your car fixed with them. They are thieves, they over charge, and very careless!!! I would not trust to bring my car to them!!! I repeat my son is still traumatized over it!!! I would never ever go back here or recommend this mechanic to anyone I know. I have spent over $1000 repairing the damage that was done to my car at this shop for a routine brake change. I took my car for a routine installation of new brakes about a year ago. My car had zero issues before I went to this shop. I dropped the car off and came back to pick it up. I could tell that something was wrong when I came back to pick it up because no one would look at me (the front of desk people who had been friendly before were avoiding eye contact, as were the other people working in the shop). Danny came to the desk to tell me that they had accidently hit the wrong part of the car while changing the brakes and had "bent the spindle." He said that they did not have a new spindle in stock to change it but they could do it if I brought the car back in a few days. I was given the car back to drive which was not safe. The steering wheel would turn by itself to the right and was difficult to turn back to center. I called asking if the car was safe to drive until the part was back in stock and he said it was and did not offer me a loaner car. I returned when the part was back and he "fixed" the spindle. The steering wheel however now veered to the left and was not aligned. I could tell something was still wrong. He still wanted to charge me $300 for the brakes even though he had caused permanent damage to my car. I continued to drive on the car for some time although the steering would still veer by itself to the left. I then proceeded to take it to two mechanics. The first said that the spindle was never changed, and that a spindle could not be damaged from changing brakes. He was unable to properly realign the car because of whatever damage had been done (he thought the rack and pinion had been bent). My tires also were ruined because of the misalignment that he had caused the car was now causing them to wear down unevenly. I then had to take it to a third mechanic, spend $1000 changing the tires as well as getting the struts changed which seems to have helped the problem. He suspects that my car was damaged while they were test-driving it after the brake change and they hadn't wanted to tell me what had actually happened because the type of damage that had occurred could not happen from a routine brake change. To sum up, he damaged my car from a routine brake change, had me drive on an unsafe car until the part to fix it was available, did not actually fix it (and lied about it), tried to still OVERcharge me for the brake change, and ultimately caused permanent damage to my car plus $1000 in downstream fees. The worst is that he was dishonest and tried to get away with it. To this day I'm still not entirely sure what happened to my car. If he had owned up to what really happened and not still charged me I would not be writing this review. It's just not ethical what he did. I have never ever written a yelp review before and I felt compelled to let people know about this. I am not the type of person to complain. Do not go here. read more

Like I said, this place is my go place, I have been following the owner for quite a while, and this Korean Mechanic knows about me being super, super sensitive about my car, he basically takes care of my car from 1-10. I don't know much about the car so every time I go there, he checks my car and let me know what has to be done n explains until I understood!
