Great people and service! I kept on going back and lots of people that I have sent there, have been thanking me. Very Professional and Honest. Something you rarely find anymore. People must support them, because they are "one of a kind"! Their reputation is important and they love what they do. The appointment for service is on time and they assist the best possible way. Their prices are very reasonable and very competitive than anyone else in this business. Million is a great person and their mechanics are with great knowledge and quick. Even if I am in another town and something is wrong with my car, from what other mechanics would tell me, I make sure to bring it to Prella, cause I know I will find out the truth. I find out the truth and they fix it. This is something that you rarely find read more

These new owners are not like the original owner - who was honest. They hiked the prices, without telling their loyal customers of many years! Bad business read more

Charged me $80 for a regular oil change. Usual is $50. Did not tell me of the "new rate" until it came time to pay. Blamed the oil crisis prices going up. Shady practices. How do you increase the price $30 without mentioning anything Fyi synthetic is $60 down the block at multiple places read more

I was literally stuck in the middle of midtown Manhattan car just stopped! Thank god I was able to get in touch with milion on a Saturday night! Car got towed to Prela, Shop is closed Sunday so I had to wait until Monday to find out what was wrong. I literally work right next door. My husband dropped me off and when I got there it was being worked on..they are the best! I drove off a happy camper read more

Why people give it less than 5 stars? My entire family has been going to Prela for many years. This is a dad and son shop. They are very honest and professional. I keep coming back to them after trying more conveniently located shops but always feel their prices are better valued and are more competitive than the rest. read more

Prela is the best auto shop in the area. The owner, Million is an honest guy and their mechanics all do quality work. Domestic and import cars are all welcome. There have been instances when i thought I needed something and they advised otherwise and even fixed the small issue for free. You'll definitely get the most for your money at Prela. read more

My go to mechanic. Mill is very knowledgable on JDM, American, and especially German cars. Did great work on my past beamer, replaced my oil filter housing on my current x3 m40i for a great price. Family has been using him for years. 10/10, Mill cares about the cars and more specifically you. Very honest people and business. read more

Needed a shop asap. My thermostat on my 2022 Colorado was stuck. All indications pointed to that. Friend recommended and I stopped by in my travels passing through, didn't want to continue driving home which was still another 30 miles. These guys, took me in at 3:30PM, ordered parts and had me out by 5:30 with Oil change and thermostat replacement, tire rotation. Clean and nicely done! Thank you, Tony and Million. Excellent service. read more

I made an appointment to get a mandatory photo inspection done for my car insurance. I arrived on time and they took care of me right away. I recently needed to renew my inspection and my pops suggested Prela in Bayside, as they are his go-to trusty mechanic. I drove to Queens and dropped my car off, then hung out at my parents house for a couple hours til it was ready. It was only about $27 or so. I love that they didn't try to upsell me on anything other than what I came for. You can tell they are straight-shooters here. They are super busy from word of mouth recommendation, like that from my pops, so if you need some work done, be sure to come bright and early (they open at 6pm). read more

I thought it was the end of the road for my 2009 Xterra when It didn't pass inspection.I am the original owner and I put over 200,000 miles on it.I honestly thought it was finished. The team at Prela had the truck for 2 days then I got the text ...Your truck is ready!I have been driving it for the past 3 days and I can't believe how good it is running now.The $350 bill was lower than I expected to pay.Needless to say I am thrilled that I don't need to buy another vehicle.Thank you Tony, Mil,Anthony & all the mechanics who have kept this truck running. The journey continues! read more

This place have honest and reasonable price. Because of that, I even recommend my friend to go there and happened to be the same car and same parts. Don't trust a single thing these people say. Read the reviews about their dishonesty & incompetence! 1) I was not refused service by the Mercedes dealer. Dealer asked me to trade in the vehicle instead due to potentially costly repairs (vehicle shortage maybe?). I said I'd rather repair it as it's hard to find a car I want right now. Diagnostics alone would've been around $400, and power seats could run thousands. This is why I even bothered going to Prela. There was no issue at the dealer. It was a non-event but Prela needed an excuse for their lack of customer service. 2) Please listen to the reviewers when they say Prela is dishonest. There were a total of 3 items wrong with the car. Prela told me I had rusted out brakes/brake discs which was not true at all (I have the service comments from the dealer to confirm this & anyone who wants to see can msg me). Prela told me I needed to fix the brakes/discs, selling me bogus services for $$$$. 3) Prela told me they were going to charge me to look into my issues, and didn't only because THEY refused to fix my car. They also refused to look into what was wrong with the power seats. 4) I really wanted an estimate to fix the power seats along with the other issues and when I asked them 2x to pls look into it because they kept refusing to, the mechanic lost it - he verbatim told me what I wrote in the first review and said "I don't want to deal with your car, come get it now". If there were as many things wrong with the car (as he described), it wouldn't have been safe to drive. Especially the rusted out brakes but they didn't care... or maybe the issues weren't as bad as they made it out to seem? The car inspection wasn't due until the end of May and my goal wasn't to just put a bandaid on the issues just to pass inspection. Good to know that's what Prela's agenda is though. Lastly, there were 3 items wrong with the car, not one were the brakes/disc nor catalytic converter, nor tires, nor timing chain problems (scam artists at Prela as you can see). And if Prela were competent, they would've noticed the non-working seats were due to a loose wire that my mechanic did not charge me to fix. Lol. Please please don't bother with these clowns. read more

Excellent work! Honest and reliable. It's a family owned business. They treat you like family.

This is the most reliable independent shop in Queens County. They say they're open at 6 a.m. but everyone is here way before that. They get the job done quickly and without drama. Tony and management never ever try to rip you off, and they tell it to you straight. Inspection sticker needed at 6 a.m.? Done. Oil change, too? Sure. Keep up the great work! read more

My friend recommended Prela when I had a problem with my car. The owner Tony and his SIL Million are the nicest, most honest people you could ever meet in the auto repair business. They tell you what the problem is and they don't try to oversell anything you don't need. I've gotten major repairs at this shop, to inspections, oil changes, new tires. The other wonderful person at this shop is the other Tony who usually works the inside office and is the friendliest, nicest guy. He always greets me with a smile and a hot cup of coffee he's the best!! I would not trust my car to any other shop, highly recommend this shop. They have been in business for many many years and that's because they are honest and good people. read more

Update. After years of satisfaction with this place, I am sorry to report that Prela is now operated by corrupt, incompetent thieves. No check engine light when I dropped it off, but I had an error code when I picked it up. AA mechanic confirmed that the manager had lied about what work was done and not done--and manager told him in Spanish to shut up and stop talking to me. Also, they broke my hood sensor and remote start and didn't even offer to repair it. That's the gist of it--you've been warned. read more

I have been taking my car to Prela for 3 years. It is a relief to have found a great alternative to using my car dealer. Whether I need an inspection, repair or tire fix, Prela is reliable and fair. I value their advise and know that repairs are done only when necessary. If I arrive early I am usually able to wait for the car unless it is a big repair. Service is very friendly and courteous. I strongly recommend Prela. read more

Horrible service since Tony retired. The son in law is not good. Yet they charge u full price for service not done

First off, I was really grateful that they agreed to do a wheel alignment for me when I drove in. They were packed and an hour from closing. The issue was how reckless they drive their customers cars and their own cars in the lot. I even saw one of the workers smoking and entered a car to move it. I believe it was the owner that drove our car and scraped the rear tires on their curb. Almost missed the track for the lift in the rear tires. I was really worried that the car was going to drop. No apology whatsoever. It was great that they were able to help us with the car on such short notice, but the recklessness and care for everyones cars turned me off. It might have been because they were close to closing time, but shouldnt be a reason. Overall in my experience I realize they are nice people, just reckless with the cars but gets the job done. read more

This place deserves NO stars. The worker whose name I wish got was extremely rude. I simply went there to get pictures of the body of the car for insurance purposes. This was something I had done before and I pretty familiar with the procedure. I even spoke to the insurance company that sent me an email of the process. The place only needed to take pictures and upload it to the insurance company with all the car information. This guy is asking for my car keys. I asked him why isn't he supposed to take pictures. He got offended because I was asking questions and told me I had an attitude which I did not. I tried to show him the email from the insurance company he didn't want to listen. He told me I could leave. Which I did. And as I was leaving he told me that I wouldn't find any one to do the job he didn't want to do. We'll I found a place and they were FANTASTIC. If your gut says run. RUN. read more

Many people have horror stories about experiences at an auto-body shop, or while dealing with mechanics. I think its because they have the upper hand. Unless you have a functioning knowledge of the inner workings of your vehicle, you're at their mercy. If your catalytic converter and pistons are doing something wonky- well how the hell would you know? You just hear that noise when you drive with the window down or when you hit the breaks. That brings me here. Prela Enterprises. My first experience here was dropping a friend off to pick up her car. For as long as I remember her family has been bringing their cars here. When I moved back to the area I was in need of a good mechanic and thought of this place. Well, I'm glad that I did! Not only is the owner Tony an extremely kind, and welcoming man- he and his staff are honest and fast! He's never taken unnecessary liberties and done things and then expect me to just pay for what they claimed needed to be done. If you need an oil change- go to Prela. If you need your brakes checked- go to Prela. If you need to get that noise checked- go to Prela. If you need your engine replaced with a unicorn or such and such...go elsewhere because that's silly and this shop is serious. Seriously AWESOME. read more

Please believe all the recent reviews. I took my car here for years when Tony was in charge. Reliable great and fair service. That has changed. I took my car here for what should have been an easy repair. Not only did they overcharge me for the service, I was given an estimate of $500 and when I got to the shop I had a bill for $800. No one had called to inquire if that increase would be something I could manage. When I expressed dissatisfaction they knocked it down to $700. I paid the bill thinking the car was repaired. My car persisted to have the same issue and brought it back two times after that. They were never able to resolve it. Took it to another shop and was told they covered the problem in silicone, which was like slapping a bandaid on the problem and had to pay another $600 to have the work redone. During this process I finally looked at the original itemized receipt from the first date of service and found that their math was incorrect on their own receipt and I never checked. The total should have been $500! Tried to dispute it with my credit card company and Bc the original service date was too long ago they wouldn't issue me a credit and I have no recourse. These guys either don't know what they are doing or are counting on ppl not being knowledgeable (and shame on me for not checking the total on their math) buyer beware! read more

Completely careless and unprofessional. I took my immaculate year old Mazda lease for a simple inspection sticker change. The careless unprofessional old man scraped the upholstery up with the razor while removing the old sticker. He proceeded to stain the upholstery with his greasy dirty hands making it worse. The shop blamed me and my sister for "rushing them" and not getting out of the car when they told us we didn't need to when we offered and we never said we were in a rush when we weren't. The shop then told me to have it fixed I would need to have my insurance fix it. Unprofessional rude and careless. read more
