Prela Enterprises - Auto Repair Near Me - Bayside, New York

I have been going to Tony For the past 20 plus years. Tony and Milion are true professionals. Trustworthy, reliable, fair are some attributes that come to mind. When I bring my car in I know it's getting the proper attention. I have recommended the shop to friends and family and never heard of any complaints! It's a piece of mind to know I don't have to worry about bringing the car to the mechanic! read more

son-inlaw destroyed car mat on purpose, why? I have no idea. I should have called police. He owes me $20 to replace. Still waiting.

They are the BEST. Great prices, great work, friendly, reliable, and helpful staff. Try them out once and you will never leave them.

The guys there are fair and honest. It's great to have a mechanic you can trust in the neighborhood.

Been going here for years. Price is right work is good. Get here early or be prepared for a wait/leaving your car. To me a packed mechanic is a good mechanic. read more

I have a new car and had awful experiences over at the dealer mechanic. The car is under warranty and they're asking for money! Meanwhile on the older car I had a repair at Prela done right and without drama, and a couple of inspections on both my cars without the "you need brakes" or any other upsell. Even now (second review) I'm staying happy. read more

Made an appointment and took the car to Prela at 8AM. GAVE them parts for hub assemblies and drum brakes and asked them to check a bushing. At 4pm the same day I had received no word and called to check on the status and cost of the repair. The woman seemed bewildered when I mentioned my name, car and work that I requested. Put me on hold for 10 minutes and then told me because it was so busy that they could not get to my car today. I asked why she hadn't called me earlier? "sorry" she replied, "its been busy". Needless to say, I had taken a day off from work to get the work done. I arrived at 5PM to pick up the car and none of the mechanics offered an explanation. Car not even touched!! After reading all the negative reviews of their work I should have known better. If your in Bayside keep looking for mechanical work elsewhere!!! Conclusion: Don't waist your time, terrible customer service, no communication, clowns!! read more

Tony is the owner and his employees are very honest and reliable people. I have never seen, for years anyone of them trying to tell you anything that is not the truth. They are very reasonable people and they simply do the BEST JOB you can get anywhere around Flushing, Bayside, and vicinity. THUMBS UP for this honest and proud people at PRELA. Great service and value for all the repair and replacements I need. I was recommended by a friend about this shop, I am glad I took the advice and had my car done at Prela, now I don't have to go back to the dealership and get rip off anymore read more

My family and I have been going here for years - Oil changes to serious issues throughout the years. They've always been fair and reliable.

Hands-down the best shop I've been to Vasso and Tony will always take care of you no matter what the situation is and try to accommodate your needs with the fairest and most competitive pricing around read more

I needed to got my insurance inspection done and decided to go here based on reviews. However I pulled into the parking lot of the shop because I didn't want to block the lane of in coming cars. Instead of nicely letting me know it's valet parking, he was really rude and said " you're blocking the driveway, pull outside if you don't know." I pulled my car out of the parking lot and left. Go to Tony's auto shop, which is 10 minutes away from this place. Customer service is much better at Tony's. read more

Great local mechanic. Honest & trustworthy. Always quality service when I come to Prela.

I'm disabled and they always get my car fixed as soon as possible with the best quality of work so that I'm not stuck taking public transportation. They fix my father's car, my grandfather's car and my brother's car. They are strongly recommended because of their genuine characteristics and work ethic. Thank you for the years of being there in the most urgent moments. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED! The negative reviews are misleading for the customer's own ignorance. Great Shop! read more

Went here on the recommendation of a family member and I'm glad I did. They were friendly & efficient. No hassle!! I was in & out in no time. read more

Worst shop in the world. I found out they put used parts in my car. One of the mechanics kept telling me to junk mu car because its garbage. So rude. They would take 20 minutes or less to do a repair on my car. The owner has an attitude. My car is burning oil and they couldn't help me so they kept fixing other parts that weren't broken and replacing them with used parts. If I had the time I would sue them but I want to warn other people. The only nice guy that used to work there is Vaso. They are thieves. They stole from a single mom and took advantage.shame on them. read more

Came here for photo inspection. They told me to put all information by myself. Missing or two spot. They keep complaining that I didn't do my job. Unbelievable! Since we don't pay nothing to them for the inspection, it's their service they offer. Go somewhere else. This place is worst. read more

Love the guys at Prela! I actually left my usual mechanics because they just stopped caring about their customers and acted like they're doing me a huge favor by repairing my car! My sister lives nearby and recommended that I try the guys at Prela. They are awesome! Very knowledgeable and most importantly very HONEST. They will not cheat you out of money and everything is done in a timely fashion. This is now my go to mechanic, they're worth the drive! read more

This shop will be my new go-to trusted repair shop! I brought my car in for a radiator leak and the problem was resolved quickly the same morning. Thank you!!! read more

So my boyfriend dropped of his car yesterday morning, 2/12. Long story short he had to leave his car overnight because he had to go to work etc etc. So last night after my boyfriend got out of work he was driving home with his dad and to his surprise the car in front of his at 1:00 am, yes that's correct ONE IN THE MORNING. When he approached the mechanic in his car he said he was going for a 'test drive'. He followed the car back to the shop to find that the driver/mechanic was STONED DRIVING HIS CAR. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE!! He has given this place a number of chances after the first incident where someone smoked a cigarette in his car!!! This is unacceptable behavior and needs to be addressed by someone in management ASAP. I am shaking writing this review as I am furious and would like others to be aware of who they trust their car with. read more

Awesome place. Vasco is the manager there. Pretty straight forward guy. Quality repairs at a low price. They are usually pretty busy and they open early. So if your there in the morning they will be able to get to your Car. read more

Great repair shop. They ALWAYS get you in and out with no sacrifice of quality and customer service. Been going here for years along with dozens of guys I work with. Give them a shot. You won't be disappointed. read more

These guys are awesome!! To make a long story short, my power steering was making a crazy noise and I brought my car in to see if they could help. Right away they point out a rare problem and help me right away. I thought it was gonna be a $600-700 repair and walked out paying $35 with a fixed problem. They were straight up, honest, and extemely helpful from the begining. I think I just found my new neighborhood mechanic. read more

Fast, professional and lovely stuff. Coming here for inspection every time before my registration renewal and they always do great job!!! Most importantly they are 100% trustworthy and will never look to charge you more. A must! read more

Over charges. Beware. Make sure you get estimate before having work done. A $200 job ended up costing double.

Unbelievably fantastic service! The owner, besides being charming and handsome, has tremendous knowledge and INTEGRITY, a rare combo in auto repair guys. I had 2 car problems. He diagnosed and fixed within 10 min. And didn't charge me! I had to pinch myself! Car repair heaven! This guy (Anthony, the owner) is a JEWEL! read more

I am very particular about who works on my vehicle. Former gear head and all....Tony is the best! He will always take the time to tell you what is going on with your car, and he has excellent mechanics, they all do great work. If you don't take the time to take care of your car, you will not get good service out of it! I prefer Tony and his staff to anyone else in the area.... Absolutely the BEST! read more

Tony and his team are wonderful. I live in Boston but any time I am home and have an issue they take care of me right away. Recently they fixed a small issue at no cost and even filled my tires with air. Great place! read more

We have been going to Prela for several years and are very happy with there service. The cars are always serviced properly and the owner and staff are friendly. They send us post cards to remind us of service required and they even have coffee and cake while you wait !! read more

These guys seem honest and like the fact that they don't treat me like an airhead because I am a woman. I will be back!

Good service, reasonable pricing...came here for the 1st a while back ago...didn't have time to write a review until now...I got an oil change. Told them i thought there may be an oil leak because I had to refill 4 quarts of oil the other day. They did the oil change...tightened up my oil pan and some other stuff... And its been a little over a month...I've had no problems =) read more

My mom and I dropped off my car which was due for a NY inspection on the last day of September. I dropped it off at another local shop but did not know that NYS had gotten so strict about it. The other shop could not do it and since I did not have the time, my mom dropped it off at Prela. We were able to pick it up the very next day at 7 in the morning. I appreciate the effort and time they put in to renew my NYS inspection! read more

Great place, Tony the owner is a very nice guy, got me in and out, quick and painless. I'll definitely be back should anything else come up with my vehicle. read more

I had a photo inspection done here in August, just found out my insurance was suspended because they never sent the photo inspection to my insurance company. Also, they had me fill out the paper work that they are suppose to complete. I have never had this happen before. Go anywhere else. read more

Am honest mechanic is priceless. I have had several different cars serviced by Prela over the last 30+ years, as have many family and friends, and have nothing but good things to say about Tony, the proprietor. He has always been kind and honest, and I've never had to worry about being ripped off. read more

Been going to Tony's garage for 4-5l years. Great guy, worldly, with a sense of humor, lots of Balkan charm, looks a French movie star. Honest (as much as it's possible to be honest in the auto repair business). Knowledgeable, helpful, will cut you a break if you ask nicely. Tony, Jr. inherits many of his dad's characteristics too. A way to his heart? Golf and anything having to do with golf. read more

This place is great! I am so happy I decided to use Prela to replace my struts and tires. Tony was kind and more importantly patient as I had a list of questions and concerns which were all addressed, except for one item which was very expensive for what it is (TPM valve) so he didn't install it and simply charge me without asking like some other garages might. Instead he gave me the option of going to buy it elsewhere if I can find it cheaper, and even offered to install it for free since I was a first time customer! Bottom line: money well spent and the ride is a LOT smoother, as promised by Prela. I will definitely be coming back the next time I need any work on my car!!! read more

No auto repair shop is perfect but Prela is simply the best shop I've ever been to. I've been a customer for over 15 years and I swear by them. read more

It hurts me to write this review. My family and I have been customers for years and had 4 cars with them. They did right by us always, except this time. My transmission blew, in July of 2012. It was fixed, but 6 months later it started to go again, and I'm aware of how fickle transmissions can be. So instead of my father, who normally likes to handle all my car dealings, I went. I knew it was the transmission but no one listened to me. Over a day later, I had heard nothing from them, so I called. The owner said I was right it was the transmission but no need to fix it, I could drive it like that for a while. I said, well, no, I have to take a trip for business next month and the car will be a few hundred miles from here. It has to be proper and it's still under warranty as by the time I was able to bring it in, the repair was done 7 months ago. After that little attempt to talk me out of it I was told, ok but that means we have to keep it longer...which is fine by me. I agreed. The next day I received an odd call. "Do you have collision insurance on your car?" ...The people he sent my car to parked my car on the street under an obviously dead tree the day a storm was supposed to arrive. My car was totaled. The shop offered nothing insurance wise, but the owner of Prela told my father he'd try to make sure they did the "right thing." I spoke to the same person and his only answer to me was "well what can you do?" Whether or not anything could have been done, I don't see how it's professional to change your story as though father and daughter don't speak ...So, I bring my car to the shop, they total it, and then I have to pay a deductible to have it further destroyed? Top it off, I lost work because I couldn't get to my clients and when it got ridiculous I had to rent a car. I didn't expect them to replace my car or anything, but as a former store manager, I had higher hopes as to how a loyal customer would be treated or responded to. Thankfully, I had the help of former business associates and my insurance adjuster (go figure) to help me through the process. Unfortunately, I never heard anything from Prela again. read more
