I unfortunately scratched my Grand Cherokee badly and deeply. After reading reviews, I contacted this shop. Mike (owner) got back to me immediately via text and phone, suggesting I see his manager. Erik met me, went over in detail what they could o and quoted a very fair price. I expected the repair to take three days. Erik called the following to say my vehicle was ready! It was impossible to see where the damage had been. They even had my vehicle detailed (as requested). Mike refuse to give me back my rim for repair. He damaged it and said he was going to eat it and re repair. I called him at every number he gave me. When I finally reached him with another phone, he accuse me of accusing him stealing my rim. This guy is yelling and screaming like a maniac. This is a follow up to my initial review and I used their service to repair my new car's dents and dings from 5 years of squeezing in tight spaces; novice SUV truck driver. I got 3 quotes and this was the middle quote with a lifetime warranty only on work they did; which was a big reason I went with Mike. My car had some cumulative dents which affected the body and with auto tariffs looming I decided to invest in my car. I paid out of pocket because it wasn't a result of any accident. I did not want the dents to start rusting and to keep the car as long as I can. Mike promised the car would brand new and it does. I am very happy with the great work on my car so far. As a female, I was concerned that I would be taken advantage of. Mike was very respectful knowledgeable and very proactive. Everyone there was very courteous and professional. Excellent shop, honest and professional! I needed to have my transmission, clutch, and front axle replaced in a VW Jetta with 175k miles on it and Chelsea Auto did a great job. They started with a very fair quote for the work and were communicative throughout the process. The car required a unique transmission and despite issues with the initial transmission we had identified they worked hard to identify and effective, low mileage alternative. Throughout the process they remained available, communicative, and stuck by the pricing we originally discussed despite the job becoming more complicated than anticipated. I wouldn't recommend them. I had to go there two times. The first time when i fixed my Ford to replace universal, oil change and some joint they charged me $350 for it. Before they replaced everything and change the oil haven't told me anything about the price. And then i had a problem with my exhaust gasket. I was going to fix it in this shop. They told me i have to pay $450 for it. And this is a huge job. It will take 1,5 day to replace it. Then I went to another shop to repair my car. The guy who is name Elias from another shop replaced my gasket for $170. And it took inly 2 hours. Then I realized they could screw me over. Please be careful and try to see another shops too. This place is top notch and the best auto shop I've been to. Someone sideswiped me as my car was parked,dent and paint chip on two separate panels. Brought it into this shop the same day. Mike was super helpful, gave me a quote on how much it would be and charged exactly that when the work was done, nothing extra. He told me when it would be done by and sure enough, after a day and a half it was completed and looks brand new. Hopefully I never need to get my car fixed again but if I did I would definitely come here again!! read more

Someone hit my car and ran while I was parked by my house (thanks Brooklyn), and he was so transparent, walked me though everything and as a female who expected to get hustled by a body shop, but knows what's up, I couldn't believe how honest, affordable and reliable this experience was. I felt like I made new friends with Mike and his family, and they sincerely wanted to help me. the end result was EXCELLENT Body work, in a very timely manner ( a week for major damage), they even offered to drive me home and pick me up to drop off and pick up my car with no extra charge. TL; DR: I'd give 5.5 stars if I could! Our minivan blew out two tires while in the Battery Tunnel. The awesome TBTA cops and maintenance crew quickly had us towed out of the tunnel and deposited the van just outside the tunnel (Brooklyn side). The Chelsea shop was about 100 yards away, and Mike--the co-owner--said he could replace our tires in about 90 minutes and quoted me a price. The price was for new tires (not used) and for name-brand...so I cancelled my request for help from AAA. Mike was friendly (offered to let me sit in the air conditioned office and gave directions on where to get great food) and took great care of everything. When the wrong tires were delivered, he quickly made his father (!) get the right tires. And the van was back on the road within the time span Mike had promised. While Mike could have taken advantage of an out-of-state family with an undrivable vehicle, he didn't. He and his crew got to work immediately, and the price of the tires and installation was reasonable. read more

I'm not from the NY area. I was taking a day trip when my car overheated and started smoking. The first shop I arrived at was Chelsea auto. First. The mechanics (4 in total) came to assist me. Then the owner I believe Mike was sooooo super helpful. And nice and honest. He helped me as best he can and even checked up on us a few times. That made us not only feel at ease but comfortable. No quick talking, money scamming NY stuff here. Just some men who run a honest decent shop. I'm gushing cuz I own a Mercedes and the only treatment I get that is comparable is at the dealership. He told me he could fix my bumper and my dent, and it would be fixed easily no problem. So I go, and he did not lie!!! My bumper came out better than factory. Came here on a weekend. Someone had hit my car, it was vibrating, and driving weird. The whole back was dented in. I was so worried. Lucky I found these guys! They were super easy to work with, really well priced and the work they did was amazing. Couldn't even tell I was in an accident.
