I'm kind of a Yelp geek. When I'm looking for a new "something", Yelp is typically what I turn to. I don't use them as the be all, end all, but I definitely read and take into consideration all of the reviews. So, when I needed to choose a new Optometrist I turned to my pals at Yelp, and they didn't disappoint. I made a request for an appt thru their website. I like when docs are using new technology. I've been a patient here for a number of years now. And I must say they are great. They just changed some nose pads that were ancient and falling off of my glasses no charge. I just walked in and done. They have also been great with my contacts by giving me samples when waiting for my pending order to arrive. I was shocked by the cost just under $1,000, but "this isn't Kansas anymore, Dorothy." This optometrist was top notch. My fiancé and I made a pre-visit to check out the eyeglasses and sunglasses for her in preparation to the new year. I haven't had an eye exam in a while and decided to book an appointment. Not only was I able to get an appointment, I was able to do it before the new year! This allowed me to utilize my benefits from 2013 rather than 2014. The place is kept up well with a great selection. The doctor answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. What an experience! Dr. Brooks is very caring, informative and takes a tremendous amount of pride in her profession. It was a very refreshing experience. My daughter (13) was fitted for her first set of contact lenses and I was renewing my glasses prescription. The facility is very clean, new, modern and welcoming. All the equipment is state-of-the-art. They may not have 4,000 glasses, instead she focuses on quality. I found 4 or 5 glasses I really liked. I selected a very unique design that had all the special touches of quality. The pair of glasses were understates but filled with touches of detail. Dr. Brooks moved to Placer County from Los Gatos, but does not have that Bay Area/Roseville attitude. Dr. Brooks explained all of the procedures very thoroughly and had good chairside manner. Even when there were issues with my insurance billing, she personally contacted me with further clarification. Overall, a good visit, but I haven't been to an optometrist before so I have nothing to compare it to. I didn't like that I wasn't told that there was a substantial contact lens fitting fee that isn't covered by most insurance policies until after I had already started the process. All the fitting consisted of was me clumsily poking my eyeballs for about an hour while the good Dr. checked in on me every once in a while. I could have done that at home with the assistance of YouTube for free. One other thing to note, is the eye glass selection was kind of on the small size. If you don't find something you love there, then ask for your prescription so that you can shop around. Precision Optometry's in a convenient location, new technology, and friendly staff. Love the service here!! I highly recommend Dr. Geraldine Brooks. She took the time to educate me between dailies and the regular two week disposable contacts. I was expecting to pay a fork load of money to purchase a pair of glasses, but I opted for the dailies since it turns out with my eye measurements/prescription it was medically necessary for me to get contacts with VSP insurance. SO my insurance covered my 1 year supply of contacts. It was like an early Christmas gift. I felt that the doctor was looking out for me and my needs. I have been going to Precision optical for 6 years and they continue to get better even as their business has grown. I stopped by recently to check out their frame styles and see if any would work for me. The frame assortment was outstanding especially for someone needing a larger frame but looking for something funky at the same time, and the personalized service I received was terrific. This is the best optometrist office you will find in the Rocklin area. Dr. Brooks is wonderful and has been great with my kids, especially my teens and their daily contact lenses. I get my contacts and glasses here and to me the price is no different than others I've been to around here. They work with lots of different vision insurances too. A colleague of mine had referred me to Precision Optometry in the past when he had a great experience. I had been meaning to make an appointment and go in for an annual exam as I had been unsatisfied with my previous optometry office and felt they just weren't getting my RX clear enough. On Tuesday morning my glasses broke and I immediately called the office. I was able to get in same day. They eye exam was prompt, thorough and comfortable. Dr. Brooks was able to refine my prescription, clear up my distance vision and told me I didn't need two pairs of glasses as I've been told in the past. I was really satisfied. I was very impressed with their office. My 8 yr old son was seen as a patient and Dr Brooks was very good with him and so helpful. The receptionist/assistant was very helpful and kind as well. My son needed a prescription for reading glasses, and once we chose his frames we were told it takes about 2 weeks to get them in, yet his were ready in 1 week.
