Everyone is really nice but incredibly incompetent. I've had to come back three separate times to get contact lenses fitted because the first pair was calculated wrong by AI then the second pair was just slightly off. When I came back to pick up the third pair they had thrown them away. I was not told that I only had three months to pick it up even though it takes them a month for them to get in. I would never come back here unless I was unemployed because it takes way too much time out of my day and schedule to deal with their poor customer service and communication. read more

Honestly where do I even begin. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE!!!! Horrendous customer service and work ethic from the front end. I'll add screenshots for proof. My daughter who was THREE at the time was going through the most difficult/stressful time of her life. I came here because we were referred by a family member that Kristyn is the best and very helpful. Sure. Kristyn then handed us off to her "trusty" manager Carolina. Long story long. Stick with me if you want to save the headache. May 29 2024 took my daughter in to get fitted and pick frames and turn in her new prescription after having surgery on her eyes. Please keep in mind she can't see anything as she has no lenses in one of her eyes at this point. June 21 2024 I had to check in to see the status of the glasses and I got a response that they would be ready in 3-5 business days... amazing! July 1 2024 checked status of glasses... no response July 2nd- "we will call the lab tomorrow" July 3rd- "sorry for the delay as there has been miscommunication between us and the lab" July 10th at 10:30pm-"lab is shipping them out" "1of 2 pairs are ready" July 16th 2024 I go to pick up the glasses and I can immediately see they are wrong. Then they apologize because Carolina put in the order wrong and someone "should have checked them before they called you in" July 18th I sent them another courtesy picture of the prescription because maybe they lost it since they keep messing up. July 31- asked for status, no response August 5th- asked for status, no response. August 23rd- ASKED AGAIN FOR STATUS Response: lab is closed will call in the morning. August 27: ASKED AGAIN FOR STATUS: R: still in process message you once they are in. read more

Dr. Lensky is amazing. Except on rare occasion, the office staff is frustrating and not helpful.

Been going here for 5 years and my experience has always been mediocre. I called last week to reorder contacts. There was an issue with my insurance and was told that I would get a call back. The weekend came and went and nothing. I called again and left a message stating I needed my contacts ASAP... no return call back! Unfortunately staff has not been helpful and I am taking my business somewhere else and am pleased that I got my contacts the same day as my appointment. Very unfortunate! read more

I want to warn others about Stanford Ranch Optometry's lack of professionalism and poor customer service. I decided to try them for my glasses this year and called in November to schedule an exam and pick out new frames--what you'd expect when contacting an optometrist. On the day of my appointment, I arrived to find the office closed for lunch, so I waited until 2 PM when the doors reopened. I was the first one inside, but the receptionist greeted me by asking if I was someone else, John. I clarified I was James, and the issues began. She struggled with the computer, giving me someone else's information, and eventually started helping another patient, John, who came in after me. After sitting and waiting, she asked if I'd received a text to fill out forms. I hadn't, and when I showed her my phone, she seemed flustered, scrambling with the system. Despite my patience, I was pushed aside while she helped John, who was also frustrated with their system errors. When she finally returned to me, she admitted the appointment was mistakenly booked only for picking out frames--not an exam. The way all this was going down at the time I felt to blame or she made me feel that way, even though it was clearly a mistake on their end. Despite driving 20 minutes in the rain, I was told I couldn't be seen that day. This office clearly lacks organization, patience, and professionalism. Their system doesn't work properly, and their staff cannot manage simple tasks or treat patients with respect. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this place. I have chronic dry eye disease and have struggled with it for years, seeing doctors that treated dry eye but were not truly experts. A colleague recommended Stanford Ranch Optometry and Dr. Hornick, saying they have the most in-depth, sophiscticated diagnostic machines and treatment experience in the area and she was right! They performed tests I have never been offered before that gave me a better picture of what was going on and how to fix it, I'm very hopeful for relief for the first time in a long time! I also needed glasses and they have so many options, it was a little overwhelming but Carolina could not have been more patient and helpful. Over a series of years, almost every time something is ordered for me (contacts AND glasses) there seems to be an error or problem. It's been rare that an order has been placed and received correctly; sometimes they order the wrong item(s), other times they never place the order to begin. My wife and I have had VSP for many years, but never used because we got all our glasses at Kaiser. Since we only qualified for out-of-network benefits we decided to try an actual VSP provider a few years ago. Our experience with this provider in Roseville was horrible. After 2 attempts, the company still did not get my wife's and my prescriptions correct (all the lenses were wrong!!). After this, the store then lost 2 of our glasses and this delayed the process even further. When they finally replaced the glasses-ONCE AGAIN--the prescriptions were wrong!!! After numerous calls and visits, our efforts proved futile and we finally just gave up on getting our glasses. It was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. After 2 years of wearing our old glasses, we went back to our eye doctor to get new glasses prescriptions. We debated on if we should return to Kaiser Optical or try a different VSP provider? We did some research and decided to try Stanford Ranch Optometry. I called and made 2 appointments for my wife and I to select glasses (my wife was getting 4 pairs and I was getting 3 pairs). Upon arrival, we were greeted and assigned to Amy. She was very friendly and asked us what type of glasses/frames we were interested in. She took her time with us as we selected as our frames. Additionally, she noticed the nosepiece on my glasses were somewhat worn--and without me asking she said she would replace them while we were there!!! What a nice gesture--Totally unexpected!!! Toward the end of our selections, Amy had to see another patient so she handed us off to Carolina to finish off our selections and orders. We discovered Carolina had over 21 years experience in the Optometry field. From the moment we met Carolina, we could tell how much knowledge and expertise she possessed with glasses and frames. And maybe even more important, she was very friendly, caring, and personable. She spent quite a long time with us explaining and going over the different options for glasses and frames. We felt extremely fortunate to have Carolina help us. We explained to her our past negative VSP experience and she said she would do everything she could to make this experience so much better. So far, she has been absolutely true to her word!!! Before we left, she checked our old glasses and rechecked our new glasses prescriptions to make sure everything was accurate. Also, we had a quick request after our visit and she promptly answered it. In addition to the great customer service we have received so far, it seemed like they have many repeat customers. While we were there many staff members knew all the customers by their first names. It felt like a "family-type" business. My husband and I moved to Rocklin last April and my swimming buddy (a lawyer) and her husband (a judge) recommended Stanford Ranch Optometry. I'm retired and worked for 39 years as an English teacher, so my eyes have seen many years of heavy use. Dr. Rappa was professional, thorough, knowledgeable, and pleasant. I opted for the extra cost of a high resolution picture of my eyes, and it was interesting to hear Dr. Rappa explain the health of my eyes. I've worn contacts since high school, and Dr. Rappa prescribed a different brand, and WOW! My old contacts have always been comfortable, but the new ones are simple amazing - I can read my choir music effortlessly, I can take an hour-long nap with them in, and I feel like my eyes are one with the contacts. Carolina assisted me in picking out current frames that fit my face shape and skin tones as well as choosing the proper options for the lenses. I had my first appt. In about 20 yrs to get an eye exam. I have been trying to come up with some descriptive words that can really really put in this review how fantastic Dr. Lensky and her staff treated me. I found an absolute gem in this office with everyone who took care of me. Each eye test and computer image taken was perfectly explained. And Dr. Lensky makes you feel like you are her most important person that day. She does not rush through her exam with you. I'm sure everyone feels like that with her. She makes you feel so at ease and you immediately have total confidence in her. If you are in need of an Optometrist - you will love Dr. Lensky and her staff. Sorry. I can't recommend this office. My son received his first pair of glasses. Testing was fine. No complaints with the eye Dr. But, with all the options available in this service oriented business, I would look elsewhere. If you want to read the long story, go ahead and continue on... After selecting frames (from the severely limited options presented), we order glasses and get them some days later after they are ordered. A bit pricey, but, all is good. My son uses the glasses daily. He doesn't play impact sports or do anything outside day to day activities. These glasses last maybe 6 months (forgive me, I don't know the exact time frame), but it's less than a year and prior to warranty expiration. The glasses easily bend and start becoming to wide for his head. They start falling off. He is constantly trying to keep them on. The screw at the hinge eventually comes out. I take the glasses in and explain the issue. The service is pleasant, but there is no offer to replace the screw or repair at the time. I am told that they can order a replacement. They fail to tell me if it was under warranty or just a new purchase. I am assuming a new purchase, not happy, but my son needs to see and we need this fixed. I leave and go home with broken glasses. I attempted to put the glasses together using a home screw kit. Could not find the exact size. It holds for a few days, but ended up coming apart. I notice because my son comes home wearing glasses with one ear piece. Weeks have come and gone. No word on the glasses. My wife and I get tired of waiting. My wife goes into the office to pickup the prescription. We buy frames at Costco. Of course, we then get a call saying that his frames are ready? I go in to pick them up. They are happy to report it is under warranty. Ok. Great. But, I am informed they will need the old frames. Mind you, we already have two new pairs of glasses (which cost less than the ones that broke). I'm already frustrated. We just spent $170 on new glasses and now I'm told they did a warranty replacement. I tell my son I need his old glasses. He had already lost them (he has new glasses). I am frustrated. I forget about it. The glasses are found. I take the one ear piece glasses into the office. I am informed that I need to bring in the missing piece because "they" will not get a credit. They apologize. I guess these days an apology is sufficient customer service. Well, I "donated" the lenses to the office. I have no use for one earpiece glasses. My son has two new pairs of glasses. I could keep the lenses, but who needs that reminder. They just lost a customer. Maybe it is not a big deal to them, that's fine. But maybe, just maybe, someone in the office will read this and think about it from the customer's perspective. read more

Dr. Sipes (or Kristyna as she asked me to call her), was very thorough. I never felt rushed out of the office and she really took her time to ensure all my questions were answered. This is appreciated as it seems healthcare professionals are seemingly bouncing from one patient to the next fairly quickly. When it comes to my contacts, I have a very wonky prescription and I've always had to wait 1-2 weeks for them to arrive, even samples. I really like how Dr. Sipes listened to my concerns regarding my contacts and had me try several different contact brands to ensure I selected the right one for me. What was amazing was that she actually had samples of my VERY wonky prescription on site! Any other samples came in within 1-2 days. When I actually placed my order for contacts, they too arrived within 1-2 days. Never before have my orders come in so quickly, which is awesome because a girl's gotta see right? 100% satisfied customer right here! PS.
