I had a very disappointing experience with the optician, Michelle. She did not assist me with selecting my glasses or explain my insurance benefits or options. I had to repeatedly ask questions on my own and eventually had to go to the front desk for help. Another staff member tried to assist me, but I felt this should have been handled by the optician. I even requested a different optician, but none were available, so I was sent back to Michelle, which made the interaction uncomfortable. After my visit, I completed a survey and requested follow-up. The office manager did call me, but no resolution was offered. Two months later, my glasses became scratched. When I contacted the office, I was told I had declined a warranty. However, this was never explained to me during my visit, and I did not sign or receive any documentation showing that I declined it. Overall, I felt unsupported throughout the entire process and that important information was not communicated to me. I would not return to this location. read more

Very Much a Burn and Turn Feel with no customer service feel. Made an appt for myself and my wife and both of us declined dilation up front when filling out paperwork which was an $65 each, yet 3 different times through our appointments, they didn't get the memo and even tried charging us at the end. Female Dr we saw was not professional at all, came in spent maybe 2 mins in the room and gave us a prescription. Got to the table to order $700 in glasses and the associate was also not friendly, showed us no options and just pointed to the wall where the frames were. When we came 2 weeks later to try on our glasses she just handed them to us and sent us off, never asking how they fit, if they need to be adjusted or taking that extra step in care. Won't recommend anyone here and will never come back, I'd rather spend $700 "after Insurance", to have a more personal touch full circle. Burn and Turn out the door is what they did, what they wanted and what they got! From what I see on all the negative reviews the owner just replies having them call the office so "Management team" can help, why don't you reach out and call customers and take that initiative on your own if you want to help, you know who we are! read more

I got glasses for my wife and daughter from the Rocklin EYEcenter. In the end of the day, the glasses are good, but some of the experience of getting them was troublesome. The eye doctor was great and worked well with my 10-year-old daughter. He clearly understood children and explained everything to us well. We were able to understand what she needed. Also, the process was quick. So, 5 stars for the doctor. The center had a good selection of frames, and we picked out the ones we liked. We agreed to order them in a few weeks. I did get the callback with the quote after they had checked with insurance, and I agreed to pay for them. I never got any form to pay or any confirmation about it. I called back a few months later and the office didn't find any notes about what we had ordered, and the order was not processed. They said to call back after checking but didn't do it on multiple occasions. I had to call them several times until someone picked up the topic and confirmed that we just must come in again and choose new frames as there's no info about what we had selected before. We had an appointment for that, but the person was not available at the time as they served someone else who came in at the same time. We waited about an hour before we were attended. We chose new frames and the rest of the process went well. We got the glasses in a few weeks, and they are high quality. read more

Avoid At all costs!!! Since ownership, their service has gone downhill fast. I purchased a pair of Oakley frames for about $300 from them and the last time they put new lenses in them they stripped out one of the to hold in the lens. Since then I have gone in and they've tried putting a Band-Aid on it of a bigger and it continues to fail. They told me since it's more than a year out since I purchased the frames their system will not allow them to do anything, and if it continues, I will have to purchase new frames on my own. I cannot understand how a business will cause damage to a property, but not replace it when it continues to fail due to their work read more

They didn't have the blue tint as I requested but this time they don't have the anti-reflective coating that they told me they could do instead when I was in the office. The second time around my husband had an entire exam and they didn't help me and then his exam was finished and they came and helped him right away and still didn't help me. I've been going to see Dr Randy for 24 years with the greatest treatment and kindness from everyone from the staff, to the doctors. I've had some eye issues for a few months and I contacted the Rocklin office to get my new contacts ordered and got put on hold for over 10 minutes. So I waited a bit thinking they were busy and called Back and "Julio" answered the phone for the second time and just had complete attitude with me. As soon as I said, I was on hold for 10 minutes before I could say, I knew you were busy and I would just call back, he said "you're not the only patient we have" he said that I had attitude and I said "no I don't I'm just calling to get my contacts. You seem to be having a problem." And he said that if I didn't stop talking with "attitude" that he would hang up on me. I told him that I didn't have any attitude, but that I decided to record the conversation because when he put me on hold, I could tell he was snippy. As soon as he heard me say I was recording the conversation he hung up on me. So I contacted the citrus Heights office. They were kind and helpful as usual, but I will never go back to that office again because of Julio. read more

If you do choose to leave a message, you're not called back for several days. Follow through is non-existent. And the length of time to get your glasses is a lot longer than nearby competitors. After posting what happened to my wife regarding her 2nd pair of glasses, we received a response from a person who stated they were the office "owner" and we were to call .. well I did and they said no one by that name works there?? And the office manager refuses to help us. She's very sorry that we had to spend our gas to have this corrected but they have to be compensated even though it's the mistake.!! that's a crock of crap. We won't be going back to this eye doctor any further Dr. Gittens is excellent the staff little to be desired and now that they have changed and do not offer any type of warranty because they are using a substandard. Unfortunately it is very hard to get ahold of anyone in this office to order contacts or glasses. I call and no one answers, I get told I will receive a call back in 24 hours and it never happens. The last time I ordered contacts, they ordered the wrong prescription and I've just been wearing them considering how long it takes to get anything called in and I have no choice at this point. Another disappointed long-term patient. Seems this place has gone corporate- meaning- understaff, over promise and keep 'em waiting The front staff are worthless. They'd rather talk about lipsticks and purses and lunch than help customers. First of all, a sign in sheet and you expect people to put their date of birth for everyone to see. That's not HIPAA compliant Then, I see Dr. Gittens for 3 minutes? And then, after being told that my insurance pays for the test which is an alternative to dialating my pupils, at check out, oddly I'm told that was an error, and I'll need to pay $39. I refused and the woman said there's nothing she can do, and showed me the IPad saying it's $39. Okay, show me the one that was reviewed when I was told it was covered. My handwritten tally even shows zero. In the end, they had to write that off, but I was there 1 hour 45 minutes. And again, I saw Dr.Gittins for 3 minutes. He's amazing, and the only reason for the star. I'm done! Goodbye cold, corporate, waste of my time. I hope Dr Gittins leaves. I'd follow him, but won't be back here! read more

I haven't had issues with their other locations but this one in Rocklin is terrible. Every time we try to order glasses, contacts, etc it's ALWAYS AN ISSUE. Their staff don't communicate with each other. Last year our order was there but again they don't communicate and it was sitting in their office and they didn't know it. This year I'm trying to order contacts and they won't get back to me. I have been calling and emailing . If you stand at the counter long enough you can hear other customers having the same issues. We've been going to this Eye Center for years on end always got good quality until now. They have cut corners so much that they actually appear as if they are in need of $$. my wife ordered a pair of glasses and a back up pair of glasses they were supposed to be identical in the lenses of the first pair! she finds out that they're not, and no one put the tint on. now they want her to pay extra for the tint! The vision is off on one side and the gentleman told her that they would have to send the second pair back to the manufacture, but try wearing it for a day or so and that's when she learned they have a new manufacture and they're cutting corners!!! You no longer get your cleaning material with your glasses, nor do you get cleaning spray. The lens manufacture is a substandard manufacture! So she goes home wears the glasses and there's no tent she calls & that is when the person who answered the phone insisted she would have to pay for their mistake..we don't live close so they should pay for our gas!! We never knew that they had changed manufactures or we would've changed where we get our glasses from. We love our doctor. However, it's not the same environment Beware there's no guarantees anymore. No scratch guarantees on the lens, no frame guarantee except for 30 day tryout, Nothing!! they do not offer first class glasses anymore. You might as well just go to vision works, and that's who the company is sold to now!! I don't know if Visionworks uses the same lens manufacture, but you're not getting your moneys worth anymore!! read more

The managers on site are rude, the back office staff was unprofessional, the billing dept is hands down the worst dept I have ever dealt with. I only gave 1 star because the optometrist was professional. DO NOT go to this location or any of their other locations. This is a million dollar company and they will nickel and dime you to death. Their prices are HEAVILY marked up. The customer service is HORRIBLE and not worth your time. I've been going to this location for over 10 years. I'm not sure why I kept coming back. I have had multiple issues over the years. I have moved frequently and they continuously sent contacts to the wrong address after I verified with them twice each time. One time they forgot to put the apartment number on the order which resulted in the new shipment being backordered. I didn't have contacts for over a month when it could have been within a couple of days if they put the right address on the order. My current issue is I received my contacts, but not the rebate associated. I had no issues in the past and received an email for the rebate. I have the same email address since I've been a customer. I have called, texted, emailed over the last month and have not received a response. It is impossible to get ahold of someone. I will be looking for a new optometrist. read more

I just got home from receiving a second opinion from an eye doctor not affiliated with the NVision Eye Center of Rocklin. This doctor's opinion was of the same as Dr. Cooper's. He recommends nothing more be done. And his findings were that everything looks great. In a way, this is great news. Yet, I'm still dealing with less than perfect vision compared to my right eye. It is also of the opinion that it should get better with time. I really hope this is the case. I am feeling better knowing that the doctors at the EYEcenter have done everything they can to help with my situation. The doctors are great here. The staff, at times, can be a bit disappointing. The Rocklin location's customer service is horrible! My wife has been trying to get a prior auth sent over for her Rx for weeks with promises to send it, with no response. This is not rocket science. 6 phone call attempts over several weeks to get a prescription and prior authorization sent to the pharmacy for severe eye discomfort is not acceptable. Their process is broken. Doesn't matter how good doctor Cohen is if they fail at every other part of the patient service offering. Bottom line, the customer service experience is HORRIBLE! There are plenty of other places that will actually provide a better patient experience. read more

The customers service is really good too - I didn't have to wait long, but while I did, it gave me enough time to look around at the glasses for me to have a good idea what pair I want! I've been a patient of Dr. Gittins for close to 3 decades now. He's great, can't say enough positive things about him. The office staff has been hit and miss over this time frame and Dr. Gittins truly has been the reason I continue visiting the Rocklin office. A couple weeks ago, I brought in a pair of glasses that I had broken, and Melissa took excellent care of me. She was able to reach out to the vendor and get a new set of frames for me that were covered under warranty, and they arrived in record time. She also mentioned to me that I could order new lenses for this frame with no prescription for just $50 following my Lasik surgery. I called earilier this week to schedule my follow up appointment with Dr. Gittins, post Lasik and the gal who scheduled me stated she would email Melissa to get those lenses ordered. I know this office is under new management, and I want to say, how happy I am to have Melissa (been there about 14 yrs) and Dr. Gittins both still here to help me as needed. read more

Not only did they get me in same day, they were on time, Dr. Coen was very thorough, friendly, personable. After a very detailed exam ahe introduced me into Walt who reviewed my insurance coverage before letting me choose glasses so I had a good estimate of the cost. They didnt try to sell me the most expensive pair, they wanted me to be comfortable and happy. On top of all that Dr. Coen gave me contacts to get me by until I got my glasses. I've been coming here for many years but the customer service has gone down hill over the past few years. The doctors are great but the rest of the staff (reception and tech/assistants) need more training. Reception doesn't consistently greet you and there always seem to be someone new. The techs will make you do the retinal imaging when you selected dilation on the forms. Are they not reading the notes? That is beyond unprofessional. They don't even tell you "I see you selected dilation instead of the imaging. Dr actually needs the scan..." and then explain why Dr needs the scan over dilation. All they just say "let's walk over here to this machine..." This has happened several years in a row. as a healthcare worker, I'd never do that to my patients! Why aren't you explaining things to patients who may not know what you're doing and why. If you're not careful and do the imaging, you'll be charged and it's a hassle to get your money back for something you didn't consent to. Please work on training your staff. read more
