We arrived and were immediatly asked if we needed help -- I didnt get a chance to make an appointment as we actually were at a differnt optical place prior - that we had been to in the past - they were too busy to even acknowledge us! so this was a great start! I was able to be a walk in for an 11am appt with the eye doctor for an exam - the Eye Dr was great, friendly and knowledgable. Once done I found 2 frames i liked and was able to get my prescription in them and they had a buy one get 1 50% off sale!! We will be back for sure -- great customer service!!! read more

Stellar service purchasing frames and lenses. Wanted to see frames in person I had found on the store website. While they did not have it in stock, the manager offered to call multiple other stores to have them sent over to try on. I found an even better pair instead and made my purchase and was very pleased by the discount added on. I returned later to ask about a sale online and the manager tried to apply that discount but was unable to after an impressive amount of time. After leaving the eyeglass store (behind Target's Starbucks if you have trouble finding it like I did) for some regular Target shopping, she came and found me because she got the additional discount to work with the help of a coworker. The technicians here are very pleasant, competent and helpful. I have bought two pairs of Ray-Ban Meta frames in the past two years and these are very technical glasses because of a camera.(video and still.) as well as connectivity to your cell phone for listening to your music through Bluetooth as well as transferring eight gigs of media to your photo album. I recommend target optical to my friends and family because I am fully satisfied with the service I get there. These RAY-BAN frames are fully covered by my PPO insurance. read more

We have plenty of contacts and got charged $50 for a new set of contacts they told us to try on. Weren't asked if we wanted a new pair or anything when all we needed was an eye exam. Thought the new contacts was a part of the eye exam. Don't think that's fair to charge without asking or notifying. Other than that the doctor is very personable and informative read more

I really like the doctor. He is very thorough and takes his time to explain everything. That said, 4-5 weeks for glasses is crazy. I've been waiting for 4 weeks with no update or timeframe. We took my daughter on Friday, got her prescription, and ordered hers through LensCrafters online and hers will be here tomorrow. I won't buy my glasses from here again. Two Sentence summary: After visiting several opticians in various cities (Sacramento County, Bay area & etc), I chose Andrew & the great team here to try and convert both pairs of my recently bought (at the time) top of the line Versace *Sunglasses* into *Prescription Glasses* with special lenses (Transition & etc). With the thought of losing almost a thousand dollars if the Prescription conversion broke my sunglasses (they would not be liable since it is not standard Prescription glasses) I trusted Andrew (and his team) based on him being successfully experienced (demonstrated through over an hour of talking to him...lol), knowledgeable, trustworthy with superior customer service AND things worked out!!!!! Full Review: I chose this location due to all the 5 star reviews I saw on this great platform :) As I entered this Target store to go to the Optical department I saw 2 customers leave the optical department with smiles on their faces. That made me smile & look forward to having a similar experience. I walked in and noticed how clean and spacious it was inside. I was warmly greeted by Andrew and another associate, Matthew. I shared with Andrew what I wanted done and that it was my first time trying to do this and it is an idea that I have not heard of anyone else doing. I joked (even though it's how I felt) that with sunglasses so expensive, I want to wear them as much as possible whether the sun is out or not...LOL! We all laughed & Andrew with his thorough knowledge explained terms and processes of how they would add the Prescription lens to the sunglasses. While doing so, Andrew asked if he could please handle the two pairs of sunglasses. Andrew carefully inspected them, while being gentle with them. Andrew then asked if I also had paperwork that came with the sunglasses regarding their UPC codes. This was requested he said, so he could do a database lookup to confirm if the lab he would send it to had a compatible lens type to fit my unique sunglasses for the Prescription conversion. The good news was that out of my two new Versace sunglasses, only one could be converted. I was happy to hear that and told him,"Having 1 out of 2 isn't bad...that's what Tupac said when he got shot in the groin and had only 1 ball left" LMAO! My jokes had them laughing in there and all who worked in that department were personable and showed great customer service, especially laughing at my crazy jokes :D ****Andrew explained that by making Target Optical convert my sunglasses into Prescription, if they break during the process they are not liable to pay me for any damages. I am doing this at my own risk.**** I had a feeling they'd say that statement, as other stores I inquired about prior said the same thing. The difference was, I trusted Andrew more than the others and if I lost money so be it, at least I lost it with someone who I trusted & felt did the utmost best. I came to this conclusion based on all the time spent talking to Andrew (over an hour in the store) with him sharing solutions and etc. There was also a female associate who helped me greatly, as I inquired about contact lenses while Andrew was doing his thing with my glasses such as paperwork & etc as I weighed other options if this conversion process did not work. That way, if I wore contact lenses, I could wear my sunglasses as they were intended, to block out the sun while I was out & about. But after the Pro's and Con' s shared with contact lenses, I decided that they are not for me. Kudos to all who use contact lenses by the way! So, with the thought of losing almost a thousand dollars on broken sunglasses, coupled with really wanting to see if my idea will work, plus trusting Andrew; I went ahead and gave the okay. If the sunglasses broke, I'd just have to buy Prescription glasses from Versace instead to match the rest of my Versace outfits. Sigh, the things I do in the name of fashion...LOL! Andrew explained the time-frame and costs for my glasses when he was done all the paperwork and research. I agreed with it all, paid and I left "H-Squared"..."Hopeful & Happy"...LOL! A few weeks later I got a phone call & voicemail from Andrew with happiness in his voice! I knew instantly it was a SUCCESS! I headed over there when I could & VOILA! I put those bad boys on & knew it was a GAME CHANGER! I was like here I am setting a new trend, but that's what a trendsetter like myself does LMFAO ;) Andrew and his team did their magic for my Versace sunglasses turning them into Prescription Glasses and now I have my go-to place for converting all my high end designer sunglasses into Prescription :) My latest project for them will be new Gucci Sunglasses that just came out third quarter 2021 :) I have had hundreds of compliments (no exaggeration) on my glasses ;) I posted videos and photos to show some of what was mentioned in my review :) Thanks to those who have read this lengthy review, I greatly appreciate it! read more

Store hours changed with no notice. I ordered glasses, which took 3 weeks and went to pick them up after clerk called and I was not informed of the changes. Showed up before 530pm, new store hours, and the clerk waived me away saying they were closed. With the price of gas, this is terrible customer service.and I won't be recommending them to my co-workers. Plus if you check both Google and Target's website, it still says closes at 7pm. read more

This Target Optical is easy to miss--it's located at the south exit (side closer to the highway). Both the doctor and the tech were great and obviously passionate and extremely knowledgeable about what they do. I had my exam done a few days before the end of 2018 so it was busy with people trying to use their insurance benefits. I only waited a few minutes though. The tech was very friendly and professional doing the pre-tests. Dr. Slutsky asked if I had any concerns, listened closely, asked questions, and made sure to give me all the options. They have a machine that takes retinal photos--it was very interesting to look at those. My last vision exam was nearly 10 years ago when my eyes had to be dilated for a visual retinal exam. Technology is great! They have a good selection of glasses, including a limited selection of frames+lenses for $139. That price also includes polarized sunglass lenses. The higher end frames, like Ray-Ban, are at typical optical prices. read more

I was immediately greeted when I walked into the office and I could tell that Dr. Huang's staff works as a team. Worst place ever to have your glasses done! They make your glasses with a wrong prescription then have to resend it then you will have to wait another month!!! The worst optical place I've been!!! The guy name Matthew is so rude making it sound like it's your fault that their place where they make glasses are dumb for putting wrong lenses! Always passed the optical on my Target visits, but decided to give it a try. Scheduled my appt super easy online. I was greeted when I entered and she was super nice(Sorry, didn't catch her name.) I only had to wait a few mins for Dr. Huang to finish up his last appt. He explained everything well & always asked if I had questions before moving on. He was really knowledgeable about everything! I am so happy that I decided to come here for my eye exam! Dr. Slutsky is fabulous! Instead of rushing our appointment, she really took the time to make sure I was comfortable with the prescription before sending me off. I also would like to thank the super friendly front desk staff (I forgot what the guy's name was) but he taught me how to put in my contacts and was very patient with me! I'm leaving two stars because I actually like the optometrist. The customer service is atrocious. Life happens and I had to reschedule several appointments but I did submit reschedule requests prior to my appointment times. They called to obtain additional information on my insurance and I emailed it because I work all day and simply couldn't return the call. No acknowledgment of the email with my insurance information. I did get a long email scolding me before my scheduled appointment saying that I was a "no show" several times and they would not guarantee seeing me at my appointed time. The person went on about calling me (they never once tried email until this) so I responded and asked to cancel. Supposedly they did and guess what? I got another email the next day asking if I needed to reschedule so I emailed and advised them that their system may not be functioning because I rescheduled my prior appointments yet they registered as "no shows" and now I received emails about no shows when they should've been cancelled... a day after this person supposedly canceled them. And once again, they sent a nasty gram about me rescheduling after my appointments. No, perhaps your system is not functioning properly and registered it incorrectly. I literally work in systems and this happens. It's worth checking if perhaps it's a system issue versus sending nasty emails to paying customers. Also, if a customer doesn't or can't respond to phone calls during business hours, send an email. It was worth emailing complaints, why not email regarding a confirmation? I was hesitant about using an optical service in Target and now I remember why. Save yourself the hassle. read more

Worst Experience Ever! Left In Tears bc of Rude Optical Mgr with no Customer Service!! Sadly, staff follow his footsteps. I am appalled on how I was mistreated at Target Optical and will NEVER recommend this location to any family or friends because of the Negative Experience I have had with Andrew, the store manager and his team. Warning -- kind of a long read but I have to let you know, as my fellow customer brothers/sisters!! I've been a loyal customer for 3 years mainly bc of the convenience (hello it's Target!!). Long story - not so short, I purchased reading frames/lenses and they didn't work out so my plan was to exchange them for something more comfortable. I was well within the return policy so that wasn't an issue. Matthew assisted me (name printed on my receipt) with my exchange and towards the end of my visit, the energy I sensed from Matthew felt negative. His demeanor made me feel that my questions were not important but more so an inconvenience. Like most people, it's very difficult to choose something so permanent like prescription frames or sunnies especially if it's a long term investment. Matthew appeared to not have any interest in reviewing lense colors options and literally pointed at the wall display and said look there are color options on that wall (my teenager was also present and witness our exchange). Matthew even commented on why I exchanged reading glasses for sunnies and said "I thought you needed these for driving". Who does that? As if I'm not going to be using my sunnies to drive? But ok sir. I ultimately opted for a Rayban tortoise brown w gold with a Tint Brown Gradient Lense. I received a text notification at 7:28PM on 4/12 that my sunglasses were ready for pick up so I rushed to get there before closing at 8PM. I arrived and a woman associate assisted me, unable to recall her name. While inspecting my sunglasses I immediately pointed out one issue, that the color of the lenses on the pair I received did not match the color of the lenses on the sample glasses that is displayed in store. The woman associate agreed 100%, that the lenses did not match noted that the frame color looked solid brown rather than a Gradient (dark to light). Since it was close to closing the woman associate assured me that she would process a new order to fix the issue, so I trusted her word and I gave her the benefit of doubt that she would do as she said. She Lied. The next day, Andrew, the "store manager" calls only to inform me that he spoke to the woman associate and that my reorder was not processed bc he believes that the initial order was correct. Andrew himself confirmed over the phone that he did not view or inspect my prescription sunglasses so essentially he has ZERO knowledge on what I actually received. It was never communicated to me that the actual lenses would be anything different than what was displayed on their sample frames because remember Matthew? Had I known any of this information beforehand, I would have had a completely different set of expectations. I expressed to Andrew that all I wanted was for the issue to be fixed to match the sample frames that I selected inside of the store, that is all. In addition to attempting to rush me off of the phone, Andrew became extremely combative and said that I would need to drive down to the store and show him my sunglasses. I declined to do that bc the error on their end AND not to mention the woman associate agreed that my pair did not match just the night before. Andrews frustration was out of control and which in turn made me frustrated ofc who wouldn't be. It's very sickening to see Andrews attempt to turn the situation back on me as if I was at fault. My expectations were reasonable, I requested the same exact frames and the same exact lenses as displayed inside of their store and both their Product and People fell extremely short. Andrews behavior is not only unprofessional but his actions do not appear to be in line with the core values of Target. My personal experience with dealing with Andrew has left such a negative experience and I do not believe that he, Andrew, should be in a Leadership Role because of his lack of customer care and lack of professionalism. I will NEVER be a return customer or recommend this place to family or friends. read more

I was at target today and knew that I needed a new pair of glasses. I walked in. I believe there were two associates, none of them greeted me, none of them said "I'll be right with you." I'm like seriously?.... and I was actually gonna get a pair of glasses too. But clearly they don't need my business, therefore, I will not be returning. This review is solely for the office staff inside of the target optical. The optometrist, Dr. Huang was great. He was very thorough during my appointment, and listened to exactly what I was hoping to accomplish with my contacts. However, the rest of my experience was very disappointing. I probably should've known what to expect based on previous experiences with the another target optical, but I thought I would give it another shot since this was a different location and a nicer area. First, it took a good 5 to 10 minutes for the person who is helping me to figure out whatever the heck she was doing before we could even start looking at the pricing for contacts. Once we got to the points when we were actually looking at the costs this is when apparently the systems went down, so I just wasted a good 20 to 30 minutes total for no reason. While I understand that this isn't necessarily something within their control, it was extremely frustrating given the slowness of the person I was interacting with, and the fact that while I was there, my spouse was looking at eyeglasses and no one bothered to interact or ask if they needed help. I thought it was very interesting that the person I made the appointment with and knew that we would be coming in this Saturday was there however, she did not bother to ask my spouse if they needed assistance and instead was just doing whatever. It's clear that the people here are definitely need some training in customer service because they are very lacking. So 5/5 for the doctor and 1/5 for the staff and since the majority of my time was with the staff that is why I feel 2/5 is a valid rating overall. read more
