I saw Dr Nguyen yesterday, and I left satisfied with the exam he gave me. He seemed very thorough. The only reason I gave him four stars is because I arrived five minute late and he seemed quite angry about that. I come from a neighboring city and since I was only 5 minutes late I felt he should have shown a little more grace towards me. I know we should not be late, but as far as I could tell, I don't believe there was anyone scheduled behind me. I probably will go to another target when I need my next exam because of his abruptness with me. read more

Dr. that asks good probing questions and ensures to know what you really need. Solid staff, with zero heavy sell and know their industry well. Visited them last month for an eye checkup. Dr. Nguyen was very thorough, knowledgeable and friendly. I'll be back when it's time for my next checkup. I miss DrChimm this new Dr is not good at all! took my $100 for nothing I feel scammed!! I went for contact fitting and he gave me a bad wrong prescription for glasses and wanted me to pay $150 for contacts when Dr Chimm never charged that! he scared me about me having a problem with my cornea and it's a lie I went to a different eye doctor in Kaiser and he said I was fine, idk what's with his machines tha supposedly said I had a problem in my cornea. Went here for an eye exam and saw Dr Chhim. She is the best eye doctor I've had to date and I've been wearing glasses all my life. She has such a vibe and personality that puts you at ease. She also explains things going on with your eye health in a way that us average Joes could easily understand. The office/exam room is very clean and organized with what looks to be the latest technology to check your eye health. Before each action, Dr. Chhim will explain beforehand what she will be checking and how the machine/contraption she is about to use will do it. Generally, most regular eye checkups are the same, but what stuck and will forever be remembered is the personality and the way the Dr. provided and translated that information to us patience. It's unfortunate to hear however, that Dr. Chhim will no longer be heading Target Optical. The one time you find an eye Dr. you actually are eager to see for future visits is gone just like that. She is honestly the bar for comparison for eye doctor's. read more

Mark at your Rocklin Commons location was amazing. I had cataract surgery on one eye and needed to remove one of the lenses since I no longer needed help with my left eye. I thought about doing it myself with a hammer and nail. Fortunately, I went to Target Optical in Rocklin and met Mark. He popped the Lense out, went to the back of the store where he had inserted a clear lens. I was able to use the glasses for several weeks until I was able to return with an updated prescription. Since then, he's helped me with two sets of glasses. I'm sold. He's a keeper. Thank you. read more

This rating goes to Kira at the registers! She was very friendly. I was purchasing clothes and asked her to scan my target circle barcode. I then put my phone away and she said "Wait! Let me see the app again..." Turns out I had $5 off apparel from target circle and I didn't even notice! She selected the $5 off coupon, scanned my barcode again, and down went my total. Do not purchase glasses at Target Optical. They do not stand behind their product. I received defective lens. Within a month, I noticed that my lens had small cracks around the edge of only one side. I returned about two months after I picked up the glasses. I was told that I did something too the lens to cause the cracks. I did research and the cracks can happen if the lens is defective, the lens wasn't cut correctly. My cracks are on one lens. If the cracks are from me taking on and off or possible pressure, both lens would be cracked. If a retailer doesn't know the cause and the cause could be because of a defect or poor production, they should replace and stand behind their product. They said I waited two long to return. Manager was very rude not customer focused. Clearly the optical does not follow Target return policy. Stay away. read more

Mark has been my goto guy for years with getting affordable and quality eyeglasses. You give him a budget and he will work his hardest to stay within your budget without sacrificing fashion and function. Delivery is always timely and easy. The optometrist team is honest and will do their best to educate you on how your vision has changed and what you can do to preserve function. Bad experience. 5-6 lens remakes, a frame change per lab's request, change in lens material & 3.5 months later, I still don't have usable eyeglass lenses. Target Optical is owned by the company that owns Lenscrafters. One would think their labs would have the expertise to make lenses properly. My past prescription & this very similar one is not very difficult & the lenses have been properly made in the past. Very doable. I refused the defective lenses. Because the time used for remakes has exceeded the 90-day return policy, Target Optical refused to refund my $385. Consumer BEWARE! read more

My experiences had been mostly positive. I worked with Mark to order new contacts as he had the doctor extend my prescription so I could order some and get 20% off. Well they arrived today and they are the wrong brand. I called today and spoke with David and basically was told I was SOL. My prescription was expired and I would have to return the ones they sent me, get a new exam and then order the correct brand. What is confusing is that when I was originally called, I was told I could get the same brand I got one 1800 contacts. This is not the brand I received. David basically said "welp, I did what I could". I checked my previous prescription and I was given it on May 21, 2021 and ordered my contacts May 31, 2022, so obviously they had extended the prescription. I had great customer service from Mark and I understand that there was a miscommunication but they customer service I received from David was so backwards I will not be returning. read more

I came in for an appointment today (Sunday) and apparently got double booked by mistake. No biggie, I wasn't in a hurry. I checked out the selection of frames and discussed insurance stuff with one of the staff while I waited. Dr. Chhim was SO friendly and warm and right off the bat created rapport with me. Her office was in a separate room next door and was clean, quiet and closed off from the rest of the store. She didn't rush us at all, answered my questions and made recommendations on what she thought would work best for me. There were two people working and I was rang up by a blonde female (didn't get a name). She was great, understood that I was on a time crunch and checked me out quickly all while making funny conversation in between. Dr. Chhim was fantastic! She has a great personality. I have seen a lot of optometrists that seem like they are rushing through the exam to get to their next patient or dont really seem to be listening to what I am telling them. Dr. Chhim took all the time I needed and I felt she really cared about me as her patient. The optical staff was great too! My glasses came out perfect! She was also great with both my kids (ages 5 and 6) who thankfully don't need glasses yet. Take your whole family to see Dr. Chhim. I couldn't recommend her more! read more

If I could give more stars I would!!!! Dr. Chhim is awesome!!! When I made the appointment I thought I'm going to be here for anywhere from an hour to 2 hours. Not looking forward to it. Boy was I wrong!!! I Was greeted by the friendliest optical staff, who got my info in right away, then I was brought back right away! Other places for example at the galleria, both eye places there takes forever and your waiting for feels like days and everyone is so so busy!!! Not Dr Chhims appointment! Sure I know every place gets busy but the last day of the year when everyone is trying to get their benefits used, if that doesn't qualify as busy I don't know what else does!!! Dr. Chhim is so nice, bubbly and personable. Not only was she all this too me she was so nice to my 7 yr old son. I know his appt in the next couple of weeks he'll be so excited to see her and talk about we bare bears! After the appt I'm expecting to have wait for someone to even speak to me for my next appointment or let alone schedule me. Nope Dr came out with me spoke to her scheduler and right away I was getting scheduled! Oh I neglected to say that seriously my appointment from start to finish scheduling and all 30 mins!!!!! I didn't feel left out or rushed or crowded, it's very refreshing and I can't wait to go back in a couple of weeks with my son!!!!! I will be sending everyone I know right to her!!!!! read more
