Excellent service. A fair assessment/quote was provided before the service. Highly recommended.

Steve and crew kindly and efficiently serviced my 20 year old BMW and more importantly helped to refer to a firmware specialist when a flash was required. If you don't know what that means, trust them to help explain it for you. Would return again for further service. read more

With dealerships always trying to fleece you (i.e. $50-80 just to replace cabin air filter-- at $10 DIY job, let alone 'real' auto repair work), finding a trustworthy/honest auto repair shop is worth its weight in gold. I've used this car shop a few times, they have always been kind, quick, and honest. Most recently troubleshot electrical issue with my '90 Miata -- honest reasonable $115; undoubtedly would have been charged alot more anyplace else. Highly recommend Precision Import Service! read more

Always professional and forthright. They actually helped fix an issue from another service company before and this time my oil change was efficient and easy. They will keep getting my business. read more

My girlfriend and I dropped her 2008 Audi a4 off to have the misfires taking place inspected. The reps were extremely polite and professional. They promised to have a diagnosis for me by the end of business and sure enough they did. Now of course, car repairs are always headaches but these guys didn't pressure us in any way to go through with the repairs. They simply diagnosed, informed, advised and let us go. We will be bringing our other cars to them in the future! read more

I couldn't be happier with my experience. I have a 2001 Lexus LS 430 with the optional Air Suspension package. At the time I brought my car to Precision it had 147,000 miles on the odometer and needed a great deal of maintenance work, including a blown air suspension and front and rear brake rotors and pads. After doing a great deal of research on the clublexus.com forum, I decided to convert the original air suspension to an OEM Sport Suspension package using original Lexus parts that I ordered. Pohanka Lexus in Chantilly would not do this conversion as they deemed it to be too complicated. After Steve, one of the owner's of Precision, discussed the work required with his lead mechanic, Victor, Steve stated that Victor felt very comfortable performing the necessary work. Please keep in mind that this 'air suspension' to conventional sport spring and shock conversion is very complicated and requires a great deal of planning, care and expertise. Victor did an amazing job! After driving the car an additional 5,000 miles since the work was completed I can now say with total conviction that you won't find a better shop in Northern Virginia. The car drives straight, the steering accurate and tight. The new suspension is quiet and smooth, yet firm. The whole suspension and brake system just feels very well sorted. Of special note, due to Victor's planning and research before he tackled the project, not a single engine light or code popped up after the conversion. Every time I drive the car I'm reminded of how happy I am to have found Precision Import Service. So happy that I recently brought my girlfriends 2004 BMW X3 with 105,000 miles in for new shocks and brakes. Steve's business partner, Don, is their BMW expert and did a great job on her BMW. By nature I have very high, yet realistic, expectations. Precision has exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended. read more

This is a long overdue review for a service that was done by Steve and team at Precision. My wife's car (Hyundai Sonata) broke down at prosperity avenue and i took her car (thanks AAA) to Precision auto based on Google reviews. Steve gave a reasonable estimate and promised to deliver the car by same day. When we came to take the car back, the actual price was lower than the estimate and he explained what was the problem and what the mechanics have done. Steve was very honest and the experience through the process was great. read more

I've been taking my MINI Cooper to Precision Import Service for a couple of years now. Their prices are excellent, the quality of work is excellent, and (more important than anything) they're absolutely trustworthy. Take an inoperative air conditioner many places and you'll have a shiny new compressor for $2,000...when all it needed was a refrigerant recharge for less than $100, and he put dye in it to find any leaks "just in case". We've had nothing but great experiences with Steve and his team - highly recommend. read more

I recently had an issue with the brakes on my 2017 Highlander. A recent service and inspection indicated that I needed to replace my rear brake pads. We needed the work done immediately since we were about to go on a road trip to South Carolina. Our regular auto repair service could not do the job for another three weeks! My wife checked on Yelp and found good things being said about Precision Import Service, so we gave them a try. They could help us right away with the brake issue. They did an excellent job and their pricing seemed quite reasonable. We live in Herndon. So, taking our car to Chantilly is very convenient. We will begin using Precision Import Service on a regular basis due to the good experience we had with them. read more

I came to precious and asked them for a starter replacement. They gave a better price then others I called. When I dropped the car off they did some diagnosis and said it was the battery and not the starter. Charged me a good price for the battery and didn't try to fix my starter even though I asked them to. I will definitely be back with honest service like that. Car has been running great. read more

Got a quick response from Precision. They gave me a rough idea of the costs and work to be done. Made an appointment and Steve did the intake. Not only was he friendly but he gave a fair and honest vibe. Final Price was under the initial estimate. They were able to get a complex job done on a Mercedes in a day. They earned a repeat customer! read more

No nonsense, great communication to answer my questions, competitively priced front brake job. Will return, thanks!

So my wife took my '07 Camry for inspection at a local service station. The inspector informed her that the power steering fluid was leaking and the power steering pump needed to be replaced. He estimated the cost to be $800. I took the car Precision Import and they found that it wasn't the power steering pump. It was a hose that is leaking oil and the price to repair the leak is hundreds of dollars less. This is why I keep coming back to Precision Import. They found the leak for free! I highly recommend Precision Import Service! read more

I was hearing a rattle near my back right tire so I took my car to Pohanka. In their assessment, I needed a new exhaust pipe & the estimate was ~$1000. I took it to Lindsay, they told me I had a damaged exhaust pipe, estimate was $1278. The guys at Precision put it on the lift and showed me the source of the rattle was a loose hanger (support bracket). They were able to replicate the noise I was hearing by articulating the hanger. The exhaust pipe was fine. I am exceeding grateful for their technical expertise and honesty. They earned a new loyal customer. read more

Steve and his team are honest and reliable. One time Steve suggested me to go to the dealership, because dealers would have a better price for the particular part I need. I've been to Precision a few times for simple repairs, which went fine at first. Most recently I had a front headlight stop working on my Volvo XC70. I took it in to Precision, had a new bulb put in for about $65, but then it stopped working a few weeks later when I needed to get an inspection. I was upset about this, as I felt my money had been wasted, and returned to the shop. This time I left the car for a few days while traveling out of town. I got a call from Steve saying the wiring was broken and an entire new headlight assembly was needed - total cost would be $646. I asked him to wait as I didn't have this kind of money at the moment. When I went to retrieve my car, I was charged $110 (one hour's labor cost) for the workman's taking off the bumper and looking at the headlight. I was kind of shocked, but paid it since I didn't want to get into an argument at that time. In the last few days, I've been increasingly upset by this because I was not told that there might be a charge of this much up front like this if I didn't choose to do the work right away... it's particularly bad in this case because they had already charged me money for fixing the light once already, which turned out to fail within a few weeks (and not figuring out the real problem). I also highly doubt that taking off one bumper and headlight doesn't take a whole hour, and consider the full hour charge ($110 being a high labor cost compared to some other stations in this area) to be way too much. As things stand right now I would not use this store again, because I feel cheated, and will not recommend any of my friends to either. I think the owner should be clearer with clients about what they will be charged for up front. Despite the fact that the owner seems like a decent guy, and there may have been a misunderstanding in this case, I would not feel comfortable bringing my business to Precision again after this experience of spending $175 total and getting nothing except a still-broken headlight. read more

Went in to get a funny noise in my car checked out. I had been to a different auto shop the day before who sent me home with a whole laundry list of problems totaling over $2800. Steve fixed the simple problem that had been causing the noise and sent me happily on my way. I dropped it off the night before; Steve called me mid-afternoon the next day to tell me the noise was coming from my front sway bar; they lubed it and the noise is now gone. When I ran through the other shop's list, he assured me he hadn't seen any of those problems except that my front brakes were getting a little on the low side but it wasn't an immediate concern (the other shop tried to scare me saying they were "almost metal on metal"). Honest guy who didn't try to take advantage of a college-aged female whose knowledge of cars comes from, well, pretty much Google. Since the lube was such a cheap and simple fix he wouldn't take any payment for it. I am so grateful; Steve gave me back the peace of mind the other auto shop had taken away. Recommend this shop if you're looking for an honest mechanic who isn't looking to empty your pockets. read more

Fast and competitively priced brake job on my Subaru. Friendly and took time to explain the repair in detail before I dropped the keys off. The building is tucked in behind some other businesses. These guys are awesome. I've been going here for almost 10 years and they have always been thorough and HONEST with the two cars I've owned during that time. It's hard to ease the pain of owning a 5-year old Saab that broke down 4 times in a week, but these guys will treat you right. For example, the local VW dealer quoted me $100 to change a headlight (yeah that sucks, but you have to remove the bumper to change the lightbulb on a Bug - WTF Volkswagen?). These guys did it for about half the dealer's price. See, honest. They are open Saturday mornings now too. They are walking distance from the Dunn Loring Metro, but there is an Enterprise nearby if you need rental wheels. Check their Facebook page also for coupons, there is also a referral program, which I wish I knew about sooner b/c I've sent quite a few people there over the years! read more

I am extremely happy with my experience at Precision. I found their service center by conducing a local Yelp search. Although there weren't any reviews, I choose Precision due to their proximity to the hotel I was staying at. I was traveling through Dunn Lorring for business and needed to drive to South Georgia by the weekend. I brought my lemon of a "luxury" Audi Quattro A4 to their service center with what seemed to be a catastrophic engine issue, adding to the long list of issues I've had with this car in two-years. Expecting the worst- cost, time, loss of transportation- I brought the car in with much trepidation. Speaking with the owner and service manager, I left feeling a little better about the service. Based on our conversation, at least I was going to get the car back soon, regardless of what the issue was. They both speculated on what the issue was based on their experience, and promised a call within 24-48 hours with a diagnosis. True to their word, I received the call. The owner explained the issue was the better assumption of the two extremes. They kept the car for another day to conduct more tests to confirm the repair was correct. I went to pick up the vehicle, only to drop the bill at site- $0.00. That's right, they fixed the vehicle for no cost since the issue was simply a faulty engine coil. Needless to say I was shocked for many reasons. First, I assumed service centers charge customers based on our car naiveté. Second, I assumed regardless of how insignificant the issue was, the service center would find another, more expensive issue to charge me for. All of which were proven false. I could not be happier about my experience at Precision Import. I wrote this review to inform my fellow naïve customers to rest assured the staff at Precision would conduct the professional service, and charge you the right price. I encourage anyone else with similar experiences to share their story to ensure their success. read more

I am relatively new to the area and was looking for a shop to get my oil changed and a strange noise investigated. I wanted to take my car to a dealership as in the past, I'd had a great experience at my local Honda shop. But, after reading some less than favorable reviews about the area's Honda dealers, I started looking elsewhere and found Precision Import Service. These guys are honest and helpful. I got to select what type of oil to use--conventional, blend, or full-synthetic--and was given advice on which type would be best for my car. I also had the strange noise investigated free-of-charge and was given a plan of action to remedy the problem. The best part about this place is the people are just plain friendly and easy to deal with. I felt like I was having a conversation, not trying to haggle a deal. Maybe not the cheapest oil change I'll ever get, but the pleasant experience and helpful advice is worth its weight in gold. I'll be back, just hopefully not soon though :) read more

When I moved to this area, I searched on yelp for a good place to bring my Acura TSX for regular oil changes. I've had my car for 5.5 years and it's been running really well without any issues but I like to keep it well maintained. Unfortunately, I don't know too much about cars other than the basics so I try really hard to find places that hopefully won't cheat me out of my money. I went to this place after seeing the great yelp reviews and first brought it for an oil change in February. No problems. Came back this month (august) to get it changed again since it's been 6 months. This time, they put a sticker telling me to come back in 3 months. Ok, I don't understand why it now says 3 months. For those who are well versed in car knowledge, feel free to educate me about this but I've read multiple websites where it says that oil changes usually last minimum 3k-5k miles and I don't think I need to change my oil 4 times a year. My guess is that they realized I followed the original sticker and now they want to see if I will come back even sooner. Maybe this is me just being paranoid but it makes me hesitant to come back here. read more

I came in for oil change and tire rotation and to get my breaks checked. Service was right away and he was very honest about letting me know the breaks were fine and I wouldn't need my tires rotated until next time. Took my Nissan in to Precision today for a 75K mile check-up. I was waiting in the waiting room, they came back and said, "everything is going great...actually, your tires do NOT need a rotation...they'll be fine until the next check-up." How many dealership mechanics would say that?! That really shows their honesty and integrity! Don, who worked on my car, came back and explained everything at the end. Great guy. They are all great. They made a raving fan out of me today. I will be a regular Precision customer from now on. read more

About two weeks ago I dropped off my car to do a diagnostic on the check engine light that was on. Later that day Steve gave me a call and gave me a breakdown of everything that needed to be fixed. I asked for the process of getting everything fixed to be started, but he told me that they would need a payment before they started to do anything. I was unable to pickup my vehicle that same day so I had time to think it over and realized that it's not worth it to put $3600 into a 2000 ES300 with 202k miles. So when I made that decision, I sent Steve a message saying that I decided against repairing my vehicle. Steve messaged me back asking if I was serious and that he had already started to work on the repair. To my knowledge and what he told me, they would not start it unless I paid upfront. Now I was forced in a situation where repairs have already been made to my car, and he still has my car, that I believe there is no way for me to retrieve my car without paying. So only one day later I make it back to the shop and he shows me he's almost COMPLETELY done with my car. Great. What am I supposed to do in that situation? Refuse to pay and take the car back after he fixed it up? So we go over the total costs, he discounts labor and the total comes out to be roughly $1900. So I wasted $1900 on a old car that I wasn't going to use anymore. I was forced into a position to lose money in a situation I had no other choice. Of course Steve apologized but apologies don't give you $1900 back. Overall in any business, you should satisfy the customer's needs, and if I say I didn't want to repair the vehicle on top of the fact that I was told I had to pay upfront, I shouldn't have had to go through this whole debacle! I've debated on posting this review, but overall I am left completely unhappy with the service. No customer should be forced into a position where they have to pay for a service they didn't want read more

I came to this shop to see what's going on with my transmission, since my Jetta's engine makes abnormal noise when driving over 50 mph and the tachometer keeps staying in 3000-4000 turns. I left the car in the shop and less than 1 hour they call me to pick it up. Then they tell me they check the transmission, take it to highway, but everything's fine. At the end, Steve charged me nothing for the diagnose and labor! I'm impressed by his honesty and I will highly recommend this shop! read more

Took my truck because of a parking brake issue. After at least 3/4 of a day's worth of work to figure out the problem Steve and Don said they couldn't be sure that their diagnosis would fix the issue so they told me to take it elsewhere instead of trying to fix it. Plus, they didn't charge me for their labor which I couldn't believe. I will definitely be going back for my car repairs needs! read more
