When I called and explained the problem with my fridge, he was concerned it might be too expensive to fix and he didn't want to waste my money. Imagine that, an honest person. But I had a feeling it wasn't as serious as it sounded, and indeed, it turned out to be something minor that Eddie was able to fix in half an hour. Here's GREAT service: I just called to ask for an estimate on a repair for an issue with a burner on my stovetop. After describing the issue, a gentleman gave me instructions over the phone on how to fix the issue with a safety pin. He directed me to look for buildup in the tiny holes around the burner, and sure enough, there was a lot of gunk. I found a safety pin and cleaned it out myself. PROBLEM SOLVED!! Fantastic in every way... Immediate communication, showed up on time... Kept work area clean and worked quickly (but didn't rush.) I needed my washer repaired but while he was there I asked him to look at my stove... He informed me that it would be $350 to fix the stove which I was willing to pay however he advised me not to hire him for the job as the stove would continue to be a source of problems down the road. I've used Precision twice and have been really happy with the results both times (Eddie was the technician both times). Scheduling was easy and he called to give a more specific time range when he was on his way. He diagnosed the problem with my dryer on a Wednesday and returned on Friday with the needed parts to fix it. In addition to doing the work efficiently and thoroughly, he made sure to give me maintenance tips to make sure I can keep the machine working as long as possible. This was the second time I called Precision Appliance for an issue at my house. Spoke to Eddie who I believe is the owner. He came over the same day and repaired my Dryer, and rerouted and cleaned & repaired my dryer vent which had split in half. While he was here he also helped repair my powered garage door which had an issue with the spring. I live in Manhattan and searched Yelp for a company to fix a gas regulator problem on my oven. I contacted Eddie and he said that he doesn't service Manhattan. He did tell me what the problem was (I emailed him photos). I then asked him what he thought the repair should cost so I won't be overcharged. Here's his response: "I really do not know what someone would charge to do that work because there are a bunch of variables that need to be worked out before an accurate estimate can be made. Variables like part cost for the regulator, new nipple connection to gas hose, and so on. I know companies charge more in Manhattan normally since parking and travel time is different than Brooklyn." Gave these guys a call re my dishwasher which had suddenly stopped washing properly and was making a fairly horrible sound. Talked to me over the phone and concluded if it was the pump it was going to cost more than the dishwasher was worth to fix. Our washing machine broke due to a tear in a rubber piece and Edward and team were prompt about responding when I initially reached out. They were able to order the part overnight and come within 2 days of my speaking to them and fix the machine. Edward was incredibly helpful in answering questions and giving us his honest professional opinion on the situation. He was not looking to charge us more or do more repair work than was necessary. My parents were at the house for us when the team came to repair the washing machine and they said that they couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We had a technician come out to look at 2 appliances, 1 washer in my home and 1 dryer in our the apartment of our renter upstairs. He assessed it fast enough, but for the apartment upstairs with the broken dryer, he took apart the attached washer to it, and didn't put it back together, then when confronted, he said that he didn't take the washer apart--so here is my renter, now with no washer or dryer. For our home, he said that it needed a computer board, and that he was going to order the part. There was never any follow-up, we called several times, we just never heard from them again. So this guy comes to the house doesn't fix either thing that is broken, and breaks a washer that was literally working 30 min. before he arrived. So unless you have $ to burn, and time to waste by letting them break appliances that are fine--skip these people!! read more
