We met Joe at Accurate Repair, when our 15 year old Samsung washer and dryer were not working properly. He was honest about the diagnosis, and gave us suggestions on next steps. We saved his card and am I glad that we did. We bought new replacement GE washer and dryer. Installation of the washer we did on our own, but needed a professional to install the gas dryer. I called Accurate Appliance Repair yesterday at 3:30pm, Joe came by to service my broken dishwasher today at 11:05am, and he had figured out the problem (wiring issue) and was fixing it by 11:08am! (This is after I called PC Richard & Son - who installed this dishwasher 2 years ago - and waited 2 weeks for a service appointment only to have the technician ask me what I thought was wrong with the dishwasher, not check out the dishwasher at all, and then tell me based on what I was telling him that they needed to order parts to repair it and would have to come back at a later date). For some reason I'd had this business bookmarked forever. So I suspect I've used them in the past... they say memory is the first thing to go right. But anyways, fast forward to 2020 and imagine you're located in ground zero of a global pandemic when suddenly, your refrigerator breaks down. Your weekend's worth of panic grocery shopping is thawing slowly, and you feel like crying. This was my status in April. AAR responded quickly and promptly. In the end, we still had to replace the refrigerator, but the timeliness with which they responded, the efficiency at which they worked, and the fairness in pricing, all spoke volumes. When my dishwasher stopped working, Joe came out, explained exactly what was going on, gave me the options (replace the whole thing, or order a pump). I decided to order the pump. Unfortunately, the pump was defective and stopped working well in a couple of days. Joe grumbled a bit, but found another pump and had it installed in under a week, at no additional charge (per their "repairs guaranteed" policy). Works great now. It took me 2 weeks to get the appointment. When the repair man finally come to our house, he told me the washer can be fix only if we get some guy to help us remove the stackable dryer on top of it. He had surgery done on his chest & can't do heavy lifting which I understand, but when I ask if he can get someone from the company to help us do it. He said we would have to find someone ourselves. GE Refrigerator repair....Called yesterday afternoon. Repairman (Joe and asst) came this morning and said the reason it stopped cooling was either a compressor failure (in which case we'd need a new fridge) or something less drastic and fixable. Fortunately, it was the latter: a new relay was installed and we're back in business ! He also installed a new steel water line. Total cost: $270. BTW, this was Joe's second visit to our house. Several months ago the broiler in our stove stopped working, also like the fridge after years of working well. He fixed that quickly, also with a replacement part ($175). I am pleased to report my satisfaction with this company. My Fisher Paykel Refrigerator was not cooling adequately and the door seals did not seem to keep the doors closed. Slava diagnosed the problem and ordered replacement hinges. He also cleaned behind the refrigerator (including the floor!) and said there was no mechanical problem. I am extremely dissatisfied with the service I received from Accurate. My LG French door refrigerator stopped functioning properly. The freezer was fine, however, the refrigerator part malfunctioned. In order for my groceries to remain cold the temperature level had to be set at the highest point. Up until this occurred, I kept the level midway. The technician looked and ruled out mechanical problems. He then advised that if it isn't mechanical then it must be electrical. He stated that refrigerators now come with computers tied into the electrical system. He suggested that I keep it at the highest level as a solution and then gave me the bill. I still do not know what is wrong and feel cheated. Either he was incapable or unwilling to assess the electrical issue. If this company does not know how to fix electrical issues with the newer model refrigerators then they should not accept jobs where this could be a likely scenario. I must now find another service company that is competent in this area. read more

Our dryer stopped heating and Accurate Appliance Repair was recommended by someone on our neighborhood list. I called them yesterday, they explained the drill - $55 to have technician diagnose, which they waive if they actually do a repair (i.e. if it's not worth fixing, it's $55 for the visit, otherwise it's just the cost of the repair, not repair cost + $55). He came out today, asked about the symptoms, immediately diagnosed it as failed gas coils, said it was a worthwhile repair on that unit, and he had the part and could do it right then. $157 and 10 minutes later the dryer was hot. They guarantee the work/part for 3 months. Will definitely use them again. read more
