I brought in my sewing machine, and they repaired it in an hour for under $100. Couldn't recommend this place more. Worth the travel to get there! read more

I had a sewing machine that was probably 30 years old. It was missing a piece and needed a minor repair. The gentleman in the store was very accommodating. Since I came a long distance, he said he could fix the machine for me within the hour so that I wouldn't have to come back the next day. He also cleaned the machine for me. I just finished using my sewing machine and it works great thank you Mr. Vacuum!! read more

I needed my Kirby fix for quite some time so I finally gave in and found Mr. Vacuum. I arrived with my vacuum and found Joe at the counter. I explained my Kirby was gone; nothing was happening. Joe was patient , funny and knowledgeable. We spoke about the repair and a fair estimate was given. I left the Kirby in good hands and I could pick it up the next day. Wonderful Well the motor was repaired and the attachment I was missing was waiting for me the day of pick up. Joe is a funny, knowledgeable and honest guy. He makes you fill like your family. His quote was bang on and fair. He showed me how to put on the cleaning attachments I ordered. You can talk to Joe about the sewing machine , vacuum and ac. He knows his business and will quote you a fair price. I highly recommend Mr. Vacuum read more

Mr. Joe is a class act. He fixed the clutch on my daughter's sewing machine and had such a wonderful way about him. This kind of generalist technical expertise is so rare. Let's make sure we patronize this business so we keep Mr. Vacuum in the neighborhood! read more

We needed to upgrade from our beloved Oreck upright vacuum to something more modern and versatile. After researching, I narrowed it down to a Miele canister due to their excellent reputation and their reliability. After deciding I'd rather purchase in person so I could test it out, as opposed to buying online, I visited Mr. Vacuum and had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Joe. He very patiently showed me and demonstrated a few Miele models, letting me test them out and answered all of my many questions. Still undecided, I went home to do more research then came back a week later to look at some other Miele models. This time I met with Adrian and he was also wonderfully patient, friendly and knowledgeable about the Mieles and all of their equipment. He also has a great sense of humor! So based on all of my testing and research, I narrowed it down to a Miele Complete C3 HomeCare, which perfectly suited our needs. A few days after my second visit, I called Joe to place the order and schedule the delivery. Joe himself delivered it and the process could not have been easier and more seamless. I'm absolutely thrilled with our new Miele! It was a bit of a learning curve for me as I never had a canister vacuum with these awesome attachments, but Joe has been excellent and super responsive in answering my questions. His professionalism, dedication and ethics are unparalleled and I will most certainly continue to do business with him. In fact I will soon be purchasing some additional dust bags to have on hand. It's also comforting to know that Mr. Vacuum services and sells Mieles and many other high quality vacuums and appliances. I'm simply ecstatic with my experience here and recommend without hesitation. read more

My Roomba stopped working and I needed to find a repair shop. After reading positive reviews on Mr Vacuum, I gave my roomba to them and I received a call a week later with an estimate. It took them another week to fix it because they needed to order parts. Tip: If you paid them in cash, they give you a discount. read more

They picked up my broken vacuum and returned it as good as new the next day - amazing service ...

We were in need of a new vacuum. My Miele canister vacuum is 20 years old and had been through a lot. I wanted another one, but with a Hepa filter. I'm home with a fractured leg so my husband went and we were on the phone and he was sending me pictures. He was able to get another Miele here for a very reasonable price. My husband was going to carry it home - we don't have a car - and the owner insisted on dropping it off after the store closed. Not only did they drop it off, they threw in a package of vacuum bags. Happy that they are in the neighborhood. I have been here a few times for other vacuum related a things and they are always nice and professional. Their prices are so reasonable! read more

I called to schedule an appointment for a repair. Steven answered these phone and he was incredibly rude. The connection was poor and his reply was "I don't speak robot." When I called back to say he was disrespectful and unprofessional he said he thought I was a prank caller. This is not a way to treat any potential customer! They have lost a customer for good. read more

I found Mr Vacuum out of desperation. My vacuum was broken and I didn't want to wait to order one online. I asked my local hardware store if they could recommend a place to buy one, and he immediately recommended Mr Vacuum. I have to admit: going into a vacuum cleaner store feels very old school since we all shop online so much. I rushed over there and was reminded of why in-person shopping can be so nice (and important for the life of our neighborhood during a pandemic!) The employee, Steven, got right down to business helping me narrow down my search. He didn't try to convince me to spend outside of my budget and didn't treat me like a useless customer once he realized I wasn't spending a fortune there. He spent ample time with me and I felt very good about my purchase! We got to chatting--super friendly guy, and coincidentally also super knowledgeable about the culinary world. He gave me his top three Brooklyn pizza shop recommendations. He ended up spending about 20 minutes helping me find a few different cuts of meat on sale at area grocery stores. He even let me take the grocery sale circulars with me. It was a delight, especially during these legitimately hard times. Amazon won't give you advice about meat or pizza. Great great shop. I plugged in my 15 year old Miele vacuum one morning and it wouldn't start. So I went to Yelp to find a Miele repair shop close by....found these guys and gave them a call. It was a Saturday and they said they could look at it and probably fix it same day. Perfect! So we hopped on the subway to Bay Ridge. After looking at it they gave us a reasonable price to fix the motor. And advised ya it would be good for another 15 years. However, we decided, due to its age and the wear and tear of all our attachments, to invest in a new machine. They have a nice selection of Miele (and other better brands) and their prices are very fair. The store has a great vibe- knowledgeable guys, no pressure, and nice. I'd rather support a local store than shop at a big box and this place made it easy. They have a new customer for life. read more

My Singer sewing machine (c. 1970) froze just as I needed to make a couple of gifts. I called the Textile Arts Center in Gowanus to ask who they used to repair their sewing machines. They use Mr. Vacuum in Bay Ridge. I called Mr. Vacuum and explained the problem to Steve. He picked up the machine -- on time, repaired it in one day, and returned it the next business day. Great service: professional, friendly, and reasonably priced. The machine works like a dream. read more

My vacuum suddenly stopped working and after some quick research I called Joe at Mr. Vacuum. He was extremely friendly and talked through what the issues might be and what he guessed the costs would be for repair, even though he hadn't seen the machine. He said he'd be in my area and actually came and picked up the vacuum, called me with the price for approval before fixing it, and then delivered it fixed - all within two days. At no point did they try to condescend to or upsell me, and I really appreciate it. Definitely rec them for repairs and also for purchasing a new vacuum! read more

This is one of those stores that fills a niche you didn't know you need filled until you do and then it's great that it is there. My wife has gone there to get out Miele vacuum fixed, something wrong with the belt I think, and I just went to get vacuum bags and a new hardwood floor vacuum my wife wanted to get. The owner is a nice guy, knows his stuff and the prices seem fair. We have never gone for anything other than vacuum related matters, but I think he does other repairs like air conditioning. read more

Joe was able to repair our steamer when the master board blew. It took a couple of weeks to get the part but he only charged $87 for the complete repair including the cost of the part.
